B2 Perfection: wannabe extraordinaire! 1/25/2011

Wanted to get some time between the service and review dates, just to make sure that I am able to write an objective review. \r \r The saga, in as few words as possible. Brand new, 2011 X5 50i was hit by a sheet rock panel that flew out of a pick up truck while driving East bound on 237. Front end got damaged, with a bent hood, scratches on the bumper and right fender, chipped right headlight. Estimate for repair came in at approximately $5700. After leaving the car, I was told that it would take approximately two weeks to fix it. A couple of days later, I was announced that there would be some additional work needed to the tune of an extra $4500. After removing the bumper, they thought the fenders had to be replaced since 2 plastic clips appeared to have detached from the bumper. A waste of insurance money, and perfectly good fenders since those clips are NOT supposed to be attached. (These are rectangular clips, below the fog lights, under the bumper - with the help of some solid bolts more

Wanted to get some time between the service and review dates, just to make sure that I am able to write an objective review. Why did I pick this body shop? Because of the glowing reviews on this site. WARNING: if it's real quality and not a mere illusion of quality that you seek, you need to look elsewhere. The saga, in as few words as possible. A waste of insurance money, and perfectly good fenders since those clips are NOT supposed to be attached. (These are rectangular clips, below the fog lights, under the bumper - with the help of some solid bolts they are responsible for securing the bumper support to the car frame.) They only come attached when bumper is new, so that they are not lost in the shipping process. Anyone who's built model planes will understand what I'm talking about - small plastic pieces that are attached in certain places only so that one knows where to glue them. BMW confirmed this. And, what appeared as scratches initially, turned out to be just gypsum from the sheet rock, easily wiped off with a cloth. Fast forward ONE MONTH. Car came back with new hood and fenders. Headlights were poorly aligned and sticking out in an ugly fashion. Hood grill was poorly fit and had gaps. BMW logo on the hood could be easily tilted. Side steps were loose and had nasty gaps. Orange reflective marker on the bumper fell into the bumper as soon as I touched it. Right windshield strip molding was loose as it was missing a few clips. Rear side windows were deeply scratched as the shop "pros" use razor blades to shave paint remnants when applicable. Front brake vent (underneath the car, next to right wheel) was cracked. Various trim pieces in the doors were missing. Interior left door panel was not properly remounted. Paint job was OK. Orange peel match horrible as they wet sanded the doors. Interior of car was covered with an extremely fine layer of paint dust, not noticeable upon first inspection, definitely upsetting when noticing the dullness of the wood in the sun. Interior also smelled (and still does 2 months later) like paint. During the one month the car was in the shop, I stopped by every 2 days to make sure things were in order. I had been told about numerous delays and problems. There was a period when the car was in the back parking lot with the windows rolled down. When rain started on a weekend I had to call them several times so that someone covers the car or rolls up the windows. Eventually my car was covered, although a few others in a similar situation were not. After complaining about the above to shop owner and service adviser (John) I spent a weekend taking apart the car and fixing most of the above mentioned issues, less the interior paint problem (and smell) which cannot be solved. They apologized and offered a token financial compensation for my troubles. Bottom line: are you a person who really cares about the personal vehicle and understands the difference between quality and glitz? If so, I beg you to look elsewhere. Otherwise, seems that plenty of people are just happy at B2. more

Excellent Repairs and Eye for Detail! 2/7/2010

The shop was recommended to me by a friend at Work. Went in to get the rear bumper on my 3000 GT fixed at this shop. I was taken care of by Brad Trost - the owner from day one. I am really ... really picky and am a perfectionist in all that i do - trust me ... i was really impressed with the work that they did on my Car - If you'r really picky like me ... this is a place that i'd highly recommend! Pros: Excellent Quality of Work Cons: Can't think of any more

Professional, Fast, and Courteous... 6/11/2009

These guys are absolute rock stars!!!\r I had 2 dings on the underside of the car...one on the rocker and on the front bumper...\r \r They gave me a great price on the repairs..and also offered complimentary external detailing..\r When they were done, one could no longer tell that those dings ever existed...also, because of the detailing, the car looks brand new...I am absolutely impressed with them, and feel that these guys offer great value for money..\r \r If you are in the Bay area and you are looking for a body shop, you should definitely consider them more

I was very much satisfied 4/22/2009

My car had a dent on the rear bumper. After seeing the reviews, I decided to go to B2. I was greeted well and gave me very reasonable quote for popping out the dent. I was really impressed when it got fixed. I could not see it. (Typically popping out dent is never perfect) Some other spots were touched up and my car was made super clean. Impressed..5 stars! The staff is very courteous! I was given pick-up to and from office. Thanks Daren, Willi and Blake. really appreciate. Pros: professional and quality-service more

Excellent everything!!!! 4/15/2009

The front of my Montero was so messed up,the whole front was smashed, and I first got some repairs from this other shop, which they did a great job.BUT! the downside was their price wasn't affordable. So I had to find a different place, and I came across B2 Perfection when I searched for body shops, and read great reviews. Thank you everyone for such an excellent job!Thank you Blake for your excellent service! Pros: Best autobody I've ever gone to!! more

Reasonable Prices, Amazing Work 3/11/2009

I had two different areas on my car that had been damaged. One was a personal incident and the other was from an insurance claim. I went to B2 and had them do an estimate on each area and they worked with me to ensure that I could get all the work done at the best price possible. Brad, the owner, personally worked with me to get a price I felt was affordable. They did great work and I would take my car there again if anything happened to it again. more

They fixed my car without an appointment :-) 2/6/2009

The service at this place is top notch. I went in to have my passenger side mirror fixed and they did it without an appointment. They took me right there and had the car all finished up within hours. They even did a cleanup of my car and buffed out the paint that was smeared on it from a pole I scraped for FREE!!! They even gave me an estimate to have the door fixed that I dented! I will be coming back to have that fixed! Now I know where to go whenever I get into an accident. These guys had me leaving with a smile on my face!!! Pros: Service, Quick, Excellent Job more

Excellent Autobody Shop 1/29/2009

My Nissan Titan was damaged in parking lot collision in December requiring some relatively minor body and paint work. B2 did a spectacular job with the repair. When they were done with my truck I was unable to distinguish where the damage had been done, exactly what you hope for but is hard to find in a bodyshop. They were also perfectly willing to accommodate some special requests for my vehicle without a problem. Bottomline: These guys are competent and do excellent work. I would recommended them to my friends and family and will not hesitate to bring my vehicles to them in the future. Their rates are also very reasonable if you are the one paying the bill. Ask for Darren, he does things right. Pros: Excellent Work, Competent Staff, No Hassle, Accommodating, Reasonably Priced Cons: None. more

Returning customer: Not happy with B2 third time around 1/26/2009

\r I am a returning customer to B2 Perfection. First time, I worked with Brad and I was 100% satisfied.\r Second time, I worked with another lady, but I was still very satisfied. Third time, I got to work with a new rep and I am totally unsatisfied. He does not follow up on time, does not pass on information clearly , also did not do a good job of writing an estimate on my car as he missed out some of the major visible issues . I have just lost my confidence on B2.\r more
