I adore this salon! My skin immediately felt amazing, more than it had ever been after I had my facial with Miriam. I have to say, she is definitely the best esthetician I've ever had. I haven't had any breakouts for more than a month, and it's usual for me to get them at least once a week. Miriam helped me find the perfect skin cleansers and toners (I believe the brand name is Pevonia?) and I've been using it since I got it from her. I've got to say, it's the first skin solution that's ever worked for me. I tried proactiv before and it didn't work at all for my skin, but once Miriam helped me find this solution my skin has never looked better. I highly recommend Argania! :) Pros: best massage and facial! highly recommended! :) more

I was a client of Mrs. Bentz (Monica) during several days of visits over the holidays 2007. As a gift, I was given quite a number of services. I was immediately impressed by Monica's beautiful engaging smile and non-invasive, yet personable, demeanor. She made me feel right at home. Her conversation was either educating or lightly appropriate and never made me feel as if I were being asked for a 30 minute review of my life, like so many cosmetologists, or masseuse do. There was clear evidence that Monica was focused on my needs, desires and comforts, so that she could provide me with a truly memorable experience. I find this to be the consummate professional and greatly appreciate finding a service provider with this attitude level. Pros: All services and staff Cons: parking more

Definitely going back! 10/31/2007

I had a massage with Diana yesterday and I am hooked! I have had a decent amount of massages in my life, but she did things that no one else has ever done before. Maybe its because she was trained in Russia. Anyway I felt very relaxed and refreshed and I think she fixed my foot problem that I have had for over a year now. I went to an orthopedic surgeon because of a bone that was out of place, but he said the best thing to do was to take an anti-inflamatory that ended up making me have a major psoriasis attack. Yesterday Diana worked that bone back in place and my foot has not felt this good in a very long time. I would definitely recommend her, especially if you like deep tissue massage (I dont, but she was very caring to ask how the pressure was and adjusted accordingly). Thanks Diana! sweet sweet charolette 1/12/2007

I've been getting facials for years and I have to say Charolette is the BEST!!! I have very acne prone skin and have struggled with it for years. Nothing makes me feel better about my appearence than a visit to Charolette. She does an amazing job of extracting all the crazy build up and as a result my skin is much smoother and I break out far, far less. Facials aren't magic, but in Charolettes hands you'll swear she's a magician. more

A hidden gem 10/23/2006

This is a lovely, very cozy and clean space. Lots of beautiful touches (good music, calm atmosphere, comfortable furnishings). I see Charlotte for facials, lash tinting, waxing. Did I mention that she has massage training? Well she has the hands of an angel! With my facial she always gives me the most amazing neck massage(uh oh---now everyone's going to want one!). more

A Relaxing Day at the Spa 3/17/2006

I was feeling very stressed. I decided to do a full day at Argania. I had a manicure, pedicure, facial, and massage. The staff was extremely accomodating and professional. I have visited other spas in the past, and felt that I had to wait for each treatment to begin. There was never a point in my day at Argania that I felt even a hint of stress. I have been going to different spas in the bay area and by far Argania is now on top of my list. The owner is really nice and the staff are friendly. Great! 2/8/2006

Out of all the spas i've been to in my life, argania was the best. The spa is a very relaxing one, relaxing music in every room. I got a massage, it really helped my back pain. The owner was very nice, too. She was very well mannered (and i think that she comes from France because of her accent!). And i also got a pedicure, and the pedicurist/manicurist was very nice, too. I will definatley go to Argania, again. more

I will go to Argania again 1/25/2006

I was pretty impressed with this place when I walked in for the first time. I had a European Facial,the facialist (sorry I forgot the name, she had a french accent) suggested the treatments that would fit me better.My skin was so clean and refreshed, the extractions weren't that painful . She spent a long time massaging my face and my shoulders. I felt in heaven! There was no pushing on products but I had some great reccomendations.(actually, I bought some products which my skin loves!) It is not a very big place but the facial I received felt wonderful. Believe me, I have been receiving facials for almost 20 years, and I am a hard one to please in general... I would go back to Argania again and again! more

the wax was worse than shaving 1/12/2006

I went to Argania for my first full-leg wax ever, on the strength of the recommendations here. Be forewarned that the owner is *not* the only waxer there. The owner might be the best ever, but I had a girl who didn't seem to have been waxing all that long, and she left me with more broken hairs and stubble than I would have had from shaving. Plus she was in a rush because they'd booked another client too soon after me. All in all, kind of a disappointing introduction to waxing. Pros: atmosphere Cons: variability in skill more

Best Masseuse EVER!! 6/2/2005

I have had the luxury of trying many great spas and have had some fantastic massages in various cities. Hamrawit at Argania is by far the best masseuse EVER! I have recommended her to various friends all of whom have been just as satisfied as I am. I highly recommend this spa and Hamrawit in particular, you will not be disappointed!! more

I most certainly recomend Argania! Every appointment you can have is on time, they always have the perfect product for the right skin, and they NEVER make mistakes!!! The staff is Meriem, who is VERY nice! She is very kind, and she makes you feel sooo beautiful! The manicurist is Kim Do, and she is highly professional. She did my nails, professionaly, of course, and it was very neat. The other employees are Roxanna and Susan (which I cannot forget). They are very helpful and kind, too. I have been a faithful customer to Argania since it opened a few years ago...I actually followed the owner from her previous employment. In addition to being a highly-skilled & professional estetician (I go monthly for waxing and facials on special occasions) the owner is a very kind and pleasant person, and I would never go anywhere else. My experiences with other staff have been equally excellent; they have always gone out of their way to accomodate me. The atmosphere is very soothing; even if I'm having a bikini wax, I feel relaxed. Really, it is a wonderful place. more

The best Therapeutic Massage 3/22/2005

I have recceived many many massages all my life, but nothing compares to the massage I am getting from the Therapist at Argania! She gives the best Therapeutic Massage. I visit her on a weekly basis, I can't let my body go without a Therapeutic massage for a week! It is wonderful, and my overall health is imporving. I encourage you to consider seeing her at Argania! more

Affordable yet impeccable service 3/7/2005

I live in Pleasanton but will always find the time to go all the way to Berkeley to be pampered in this wonderful and charming spa. When I leave Argania, I feel refreshed, happy, relaxed and beautiful!! I wish there could be more spas like this one in my area... but for now, I don't mind the drive!! The best wax and best facials... I haven't tried the manicure but I was told it is awesome!! Thanks Argania!! more

best waxing, nail care, facial ever! 2/11/2005

I have been a faithful customer since I discovered this place on a walk! The owner is the best waxer I have ever had - quick, professional, and very pleasant. The nail lady is the best I have ever had also - so clean, thorough, and takes her time! The decor is very calming, their products are fantastic, and it's so easy to make an appointment. I am shocked there is not a month-long wait for these services! The prices are a bit less than normal, WAY less than what you'd pay in SF or Napa, and what you get for the price is so much more than any other place I have been (and I've been to plenty!). I am faithful to Argania as long as it is there! Parking is on the street, so you may have to walk, but once you're there, stay as long as possible! Highly reccomended!! 1/5/2005

Highly reccomended,I found about this salon through a friend and honestly I had the best facial I ever had since years!! They are very skilled, take their time, use great products .They have different facials for different skin types. Very clean salon, spacious and friendly atmosphere. Had a pedicure too, she takes her time and is very meticulous and clean,all natural nail services. more
