AVOID LIKE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!\r Theft is considered a non important issue, so are drugs and illegal dogs, also breaking the lease? The management says sure if your'e on his good side and not targeted by him. Management plays favorites and will screen your calls. Do you want a place to park your vehicle within 6 blocks of your building? Make sure you are home by 6pm most times earlier! What about that trailer of yours? NOPE! unless you are one of Jason's favorites! Do you like pets? Of course! But if the illegal pit bull charges at you, Jason won't do a thing! This is the WORST place to live! more

As a current resident of this complex I can honestly say this place is great, and I really don't have a bad thing to say about it. To be honest, in my apartment search - reading the negative reviews concerned me a bit, but I did my research and ended up renting here anyways... and this is a great little place to live!\r \r Addressing all the negative reviews on here so far:\r \r - This complex is NOT crime galore. Believe me, I have family members in law enforcement and asked them if this place has officers responding a lot. The answer? No more than any other neighborhood. Being that this complex is on the bigger side (20 building with 8-10 units each), the occasional police visit to people ratio is really low. I would not live here with my 1 year old if this was not a safe community. On top of that, every applicant goes through a background check before being approved.\r \r - Loud Neighbors? Yeah... I don't know how to respond to that since it's not really a complex issue - it's the issue of you having a rude neighbor. Any complaints of maintenance fixes are addressed right away... or have been for me.\r \r The pros:\r \r - No pet security deposit. This place is pet friendly, and management has no issues with dogs unless you are rude and don't pick up your pets mess. This is the reason most complexs don't allow dogs in the first place...\r \r - Awesome and laid back on site management. The office is open 7 days a week if there's any issues. Maintenance is pretty ""johnny-on-the-spot"" too.\r \r - Reasonable rent for nice sized apartments.\r \r Cons\r \r - Pet waste from rude pet owners... but what complex doesn't have this issue?\r \r - Parking can sometimes be a pain, especially on weekends or in the winter\r \r - Not a lot of grass or ""yard"" space. Larger complex means there is a lot of people living in one subdivision, but the layout of buildings spreads it out pretty alright.\r \r Overall this place is great, friendly and I have never had an issue with it. I am respectful of neighbors, and they are respectful back, I pay my rent on time, and I clean up after my dog. The reviews that were negative seem to stem from monetary, noise, or pet issues. So as long as you know how to be a good tenant - This place will be a great fit for you! more

@ DALE YOU BE......Robby I tried very hard to find a solution to your problem. Unfortunately, you both were not open to transfer to a unit that was upstairs. I also transferred people above you and you still complained about people walking too loud. You left us no choice but to give you a non renewal of your lease when you began to threaten the upstairs neighbor and were calling consistently to complain that the tenant was walking too loud. I truly am sorry you had a bad experience, but posting half truth is not very kind especially when someone tries very hard to solve your problem. I seriously do not know how we could have made the problem better for you aside from allowing the unit above you to remain unrented. We continually have 100% occupancy so leaving it vacant was never an option. Due to the occupancy fact it must not be that bad of place to live...either that or 226 tenants holding back their desire to move. Best wishes to you Robby and I hold no ill feelings towards you just sorry you had the bad experience. more

AVOID! 11/26/2011

Management is really cool with you at first but once that first rent check gets cashed it changes....and if you live in a lower apartment dont plan on gettin a good nights sleep for the duration of your lease as the floors are super thin and you hear every footstep and noise and creak and crack from the upstairs people, ive lived here a year and the guy above me doesn't work and gets up at 4am everyday so when he wakes up we get woken up from him coming in and out of the room......i cant wait to move out and get away from these poorly run and constructed apts more

Surprised to see negative comments here 12/3/2008

Of course, the bad comments/reviews are dated from 2007, which is way back and might be, the management wasn't that good at that time. But, i am a resident since April 2008 here and till date, i never had single complaint./issue with the apartment or with the neighbours. I can live my life here, of course I have seen cops just twice and this isn't that bad to worry about the crimes. May be you should live in texas to see what 'often' means for cops visits. Life is cool and the management is very polite and ready to address any issues that one may have. All in all, this is the best place that I ever lived in the US. I previously lived in Maryland, Connecticut, Texas. And regarding the security deposit, I can wait a month to get back as long as i am assured that I get it back. when it comes to 'charge on per hour' basis, it will be upto 'how clean' you keep and leave your apartment, will you blame apartment guys for that? I wouldn't. Pros: Very good location, good management, better rents. Cons: None till date.. more

Applegate Apartments is quite possibly the best I have lived so far in my rental experience. Cannot say enough good about the place. more

Best place to live ever 9/19/2008

I currently live at Applegate Apts and find this to be the best place ever when it comes to the rental world. They are very competitive and have top notch management. Concerns are all recognized and the manager is exceptional in helping out with any problems that arise. Speaking as a current resident, I give this place several thumbs up. Crime Galore around here. 9/5/2007

There are so many other nice and economic places out there... Go for that! This place is swarming with cops at least once a year. Aside from that, it's the usual cops for domestic issues like every week! Seriously, cops practically work their weekends here. It's a ""25mph zone"", however, you will find that only 7% of the tenants obey that. Pet friendly? Yes, sometimes. Otherwise you can expect to find papers on your door every month about ""cleanliness"" and ""PICK UP after your dogs"" and ""Complaints from other Tenants""... and the list keeps going. You get those nice papers often. And friendliness at the office? Let's put it this way, much nicer at the DMV! Pros: Location Cons: Everything else more

Think long and hard before renting 8/2/2007

I currently rent at applegate estates and I believe that before you rent here to truely look at all other options first. When my husband and I first started renting here it seemed like a great place to live but changed very quickly. They advertise that all their units are airconditioned but this is untrue only some of their units include aircondition. Also expect the cops to be in the neighborhood alot. Most weeks there are at least 2 instances of cops responding to disturbances. Many of the tenets are looking to get out of their leases. Also beware that you will most likely not get your deposit back as they charge a large amount per hour for work on the apartment and they take about 3 months to supposidly fix the apartments before rerenting. more
