For those who have written concerns or had a less then optimal experience, I encourage you to call me. For me to fully address what you have written here, I need to discuss the situation with you. Don't take your birds/reptiles/rodents here. They don't know what they are doing with them. I took my bird in when it started having seizures, and the vet euthanized him without my consent. I signed a form allowing him to perform "triage" on my pet, and as soon as I turned it in they put my bird down, called me back, and apologized for my loss.\r They had wanted to give the bird sugar, which is not an appropriate treatment for much of anything avian-related. They simply didn't know what to do and thought my bird was suffering, so they took it upon themselves to end his life. Having my bird die is bad enough, but now I am left with the question of whether he could have been saved. Like I said, don't bring exotic animals here. more

I brought my dog in and found out to my shock he had prostate cancer. I want to say that the staff and doctors really love animals and are wonderful people. The head surgeon, Dr. Walker, is awesome. She really went above and beyond, researching and locating specific cutting edge medical equipment and techniques. I was given all the options and they were able to save my dog from what could have killed him in a few days. It was expensive, but my dog is happy to be alive and is not suffering at all because of the expertise of these people. He is such a big part of the family and we are so grateful for all they've done for him. I'm always impressed by these people. Dr. Marsh and Dr. Walker are top notch doctors and very kind people. This place has been such a blessing. more

I recently had the heartrending experience of taking my dog there on an emergency visit in which he was diagnosed with cancer. When my regular vet (NE Vet Clinic on 35th) turned out to be disinterested in even answering basic questions about medication, I discovered that the vets at Acces were always kind and quick with information and support. When the time came that the painkillers were not sufficient, we returned there to euthanize my dog. From my three visits and several phone calls, all I can say is these are wonderful people. Kind, caring, supportive, informative. I hope I never have to take a beloved pet to the emergency room again, but I am grateful to know they are there. more

I brought my cat in last week for a small wound. I had been to ACCES before (the service has always been great, the staff is friendly) and usually waited in the lobby to be put in the room. However this time I was pleasantly surprised when as soon as I walked up to the counter they called for a triage tech. One of the staff came up right away and we went into a close room. I knew my cat was stable, but they still checked his vitals and I was happy to see a face right away. My visit was a little long (i think because they had a lot going on in the back area) but the lobby is comfortable, there is a children's area and DVD player, as well as vending machines. I was put into a room and the tech took my kitty away to clean the wound, and he was back very quickly. The discharge was fast, I was given a collar for him to wear and some amoxicillin for the wound. I would recommend them for sure, they are a very special group of people. For tips, I would say to remember that this is an emergency more

ACCES is a great facility and saved my dog after he ate rat bait that was sprinkled on the fence line between my house and my neighbors. My neighbor didn't tell me he had put the rat bait out (oddly enough, this was the first time he ever used rat bait) and being that my dog was a lab, he did all kinds of maneuvers to get to the rat bait. As soon as I realized what happened I rushed him in to ACCES, the front staff was kind and compassionate, they really took my emergency seriously. The technical staff was great, they used a bit of humor to take the edge off, and I really appreciated them trying to calm me down. I was a mess. He was in and out the same evening and I was so glad he was going to be OK. The cost was high, but I expected that. Its an emergency clinic, they do things on the spot, it has to be higher. My 9 month old cat Caesar recently had a blockage in his urethra, and was in critical condition when he was first brought to ACCESS. He spent almost a week at their facility, and I have nothing but good things to say. \r \r Everyone on staff was kind, sympathetic and genuinely cared about the status of my cat. I received updates on his condition twice daily via telephone, and anytime I called in I was able to speak with a technician personally who answered all of my questions (and there were a lot!). They even allowed me to come in and visit him every day. \r \r Although they definitely aren't cheap (hospitals never are) they are very considerate of budgets and worked with me to lower the cost of his visit as much as possible, even by transferring him to my normal vet during the day a couple of times. \r \r I highly recommend them, and still call with questions from time to time which they continue to happily answer. Our dog wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for the vets here (and our early and quick action bringing her to them). They recognized the situation quickly (although at the time it seemed like things took way too long, but when you're told that your pet will likely die nothing can happen fast enough), informed us of our options and the urgency, and were very forthright about everything. more

I just moved to Seattle one month ago and my dog was struck by a car after getting loose and chasing a coyote. I brought him to ACCESS and was incredibly impressed with their care of my dog and me. Everyone was extremely professional, yet friendly and I felt confident leaving my dog with them when I had to leave for work. I received timely updates throughout the day. When I came to pick him up, he walked out comfortably with the vet assistant and I was happily surprised that his stress level appeared very low for having spent the day at the vet. I liked the facility and everyone well enough that I wish I could use them as my regular vet. I highly recommend their care. more

I am a veterinary assistant working in a Seattle clinic, we always refer animals that we cannot cure to ACCES because they are the most competent people in the city of Seattle; their staff is full of experienced and loving veterinarians and assistants and if you want to make sure your pet gets the best care possible ACCES is the right place to go. The previous review was a shock for me and whoever posted it obviously does not know what animal care is. And catherers are never placed in front of an owner no matter what the situation is. more

My senior cat had been diagnosed with lymphosarcoma, and not responding to treatment, had become quite ill in the final stages of the disease. I had made an appointment for euthanasia at my regular vet, but my cat was going downhill fast and couldn't wait for the appointment. We took him to ACCES on a Friday evening. \r \r The vet tech showed us to a room and explained that she would take my cat away to put a catheter in. (They administer the sedative and anesthesia that way instead of by straight injection.) She explained that she would then bring my cat back to be with us and have the sedative and anesthesia administered in our presence. We wanted to be with him and comfort him during the act.\r \r I asked, but she would not allow us to accompany my cat while the catheter was put in.\r \r The tech took my cat, and we were left waiting for nearly 30 minutes. When she finally returned, my cat had a catheter in his leg, and also had a three-inch chunk of fur and top-layer skin completely sec more
