We met up with another couple for dinner on friday night and Andy was our server. He was quite jovial and told us a bit about the establishment and how much he loved the place. 3 of the 4 of us are discerning wine drinkers who were pleasantly surprised at Andy's recommendation of _____? I can't remember what it was, but it was a luscious red that was totally reasonably priced and suited our meals beautifully. So good, that we had 2 bottles. The menu changes constantly so for us, appetizers consisted of an outrageously good seared scallop salad, and an equally great mushroom soup. It was a little rainy out and we were looking for some uncomplicated, hearty comfort food. I had the crab linguine w/sundried tomato and wilted spinach which didn't disappoint with it's generous portions of whole crab leg. My husband had the new york steak which he said was pretty good. I asked him why he didn't get the pork chop or any other meat dish on the menu for that matter, and his response was that he didn't like any of the preparations ... he's not a meat with warm fruit kind of guy. But he did say his soup was superb and that the foie gras terrine (appetizer) was very memorable. All of the desserts were made in house and were wonderfully uncomplicated ... very generous in size and more rustic and approachable than the tall swirly dealios you see everywhere now. We had chocolate cake made with Oban scotch, a warm blueberry cobbler/tart a la mode, and caramel cheesecake. Sometimes it's not about the drama ... sometimes, you just want some good food. We'll be back. Pros: great wine selection, relaxed atmosphere, takes reservations Cons: of course ... parking
