Review content:
We had read a lot of great reviews about Peddler Steak House so we thought we'd give it a go. We were there promptly around 5:00 pm so when we walked in we were seated without any wait. The decor of the Peddler Steak House appears to be the same as it was 30 years ago, paneling and dark wood with royal blue accents and matching blue carpet. It was dimly lit and had a nice warm atmosphere. The service was wonderful, our beverages never got to below half empty. We ordered an appetizer, which was the fried cheese, basically it was mozzarella sticks with a marinara sauce, not worth ordering before a steak meal, and you could get the same thing with the same flavor at Applebee?s. The salad bar was great; all of the items seemed very crisp and fresh. We ordered a large cut of Prime Rib. We should have stuck with the regular cut. It came out on a large plate bedded in its own juices. It was the largest thickest cut of steak I?ve ever had or seen. When I cut into it and had my first taste this is what went through my mind, there was no flavor? It was unseasoned, it was just cooked and served in its own natural flavors so no marinades or seasons that I could taste. As I was working my way through this steak, I found that I wasn?t actually enjoying the steak as a whole as much as it became a contest to simply finish it. So anyway, the meal for two was $66.00? When we both left the restaurant and started our drive home we were sort of dumbfounded that we had paid so much for this steak meal? I mean we couldn?t actually justify its value; it was just a thick cut of steak, nothing special bout a thick cut of meat? We could have eaten at the Angus barn for $20 more and had a much better steak. I am very disappointed. So in short if you don?t mind a steak that isn?t salted, flavored, or seasoned in anyway, then this is the place? If you like a steak over flowing with flavor, then you should go elsewhere?
Pros: Ambience, service
Cons: Price, steaks without flavor...
