I went to Dr. Hoyte because I wanted to take advantage of my annual wellness exam which, with my health insurance is covered 100% and with no deductible. I have always paid $0 for this preventative care. I chose Dr. Hoyte because she is in my network. I made it very clear at check out that I wanted this to be billed as preventative care. The very next day I received a bill for $5 because I did not pay on the day of the visit. Confused, I called the office requesting an explanation, but did not receive a phone call back. Eventually I received a bill for $20.91. It was explained to me later that she does extra things that are not included in preventative care. Next came the bill for $35.70. When I called the insurance to for an explanation, again it was explained that Dr. Hoyte submitted codes that were not for preventative services. Then I was told that she sent my blood work to a lab that was not in my network and the next bill was $487.60. \r
Grand total: $549.21 for my annual visit that should have been at no cost to me. \r
Unless you have an extra $550 throw around, I would not recommend Dr. Hoyte or Women's Primary Care.\r
