I hate to write reviews but this doctor deserves one. He is the only medicaid doc in volusia county. People on medicaid are forced to go to him. My fiance and I both have experiences but with vastly different insurances. I was under my Mother's insurance 'Volusia Health Network'. As an RN at Halifax she had an extremely good plan with the insurance. So I decided to go to the Dentist for the first time since I was very little. I was 16 at the time. Told them up front I needed cavities taken care of.
My first reaction was to how different this place is compared to my childhood dentist memories. I remember a brightly lit, very clean environment. I'm not saying this place is dirty but it has poor lighting and dilapidated equipment. Then when you consider their lapses in sanitation it goes from being a scary place to the deepest pit of hell. Enough people leave with secondary infections that there should be an investigation. I digress though...
I went in to have cavities filled. Left with a painful teeth scraping and nothing else. I'm the lucky one though.
More recently my husband went there for a tooth extraction. They didn't provide adequate pain relief for him. When they yanked the tooth out they did put gauze in....but no pain relief. They banged around his mouth to yank this tooth, leaving him bruised and swollen in his cheek. He ended up at the emergency room a few days later to find he had an infection. Then he had issues with dry socket to make matters worse. No assistance from the doctor. They didn't want to see him. This happened a year ago and he still feels pain. Food gets stuck in the hole he has and it is not believed that part of the tooth is still inside. He needs another tooth extracted now....and I am personally paying from my hard earned cash to get him to a more professional doctor.
He seems to give the same treatment to customers regardless of insurance. I would not recommend bringing a child to this dentist. The is a medicaid doctor in Seminole county. The drive is worth it if you own a car.
