I went to Nellie's to purchase my wedding cake, because a friend had recommended them. Big mistake! I would NOT recommend their services to anyone. While their cake tastes good, it is a very poorly run business with bad customer service. They lack professionalism and caring; in an industry where both are required.\r

Here's what happened: After meeting with the owner in person several times, describing in detail what type of decoration I wanted on my wedding cake, AND providing a photograph of exactly what the cake was to look like, AND providing several cell phone numbers they could call in case there were any questions or problems before or on the day of the wedding; I felt confident and excited to see my cake on the wedding day. Was I ever wrong....What a disappointment!! :(\r

While the cake tasted great, they did not use the color that I had specified for the decorations (that was also shown in the photo!).... And so, not only did our cake not match our carefully planned reception, but NONE of the detail on the cake shows in pictures at all! Needless to say, both my new husband and I were VERY disappointed and saddened at how it turned out. \r

A few days after the wedding, I returned to Nellie’s to express my unhappiness with their product, but was told the owner wasn't there, and to come back. I did the next day... only to be told the same thing again (frustrating!). I left my phone number, and the owner finally called. When I told her about what had happened, she admitted being unsure of what color to use when decorating the cake, and admitted that what happened was ENTIRELY their fault for not writing down the details; but when I asked why she didn't bother to call me to clarify, or even look at the picture, she had NO good answer.... She didn't even apologize! I asked her if there was any type of compensation or refund she could offer me because her blatent error had tarnished our wedding day. She acted as if she had no idea what I meant...(hello, refund some of the more than $350 I paid!?), and then said that she guessed she could make us a new cake top.....Um, what good does that do us now, after the wedding? You cannot recreate the special moments on your wedding day. I told her as much, and she said nothing.\r
