Work Done Efficiently & Cost Effective 7/20/2007

Took a couple days to get on the schedule to fix a leaking toilet. (It wasn't a bad leak, so I did not ask for an earlier appointment.) I did call the day of the appointment to confirm the time to be at home, and the dispatcher (Rob?) seemed a little confused, but still had my appointment that day. The plumber came in and immediately saw the issue. Fixed it with no problems, and I feel the charges for about 1+1/2 hrs work was fair. $150 including a metal part, wax ring, and soldering the part in place. He left the bathroom cleaned up, asked for newspapers to put the removed toilet on, etc. Co-workers had told me once before it would requiring a special tool to cut cast iron pipes, etc. So in my mind they could have tried to sell it as a more complicated job and got more money; but didn't. I am also a single woman at home, so he could have tried to play on me not knowing what was reasonable. more
