Abita Beer No Need to Say Any More 9/6/2006

Any place that has Abita on Tap will forever be a perfect place for me. If the scale could go any higher I would. Let me begin by agreeing that this place truly is a gem within the NW chaos of diverse restaurants. Since I have moved up here I have been all around and looked for Abita Beer (abita. c o m). When I sat down and the waiter told us that they had an Amber Lager, Abita I only think I could describe my reaction as sheer awe and amazement. Once I pinched myself and confirmed I had to focus on the menu. Which by the way is the same for Lunch as Dinner (but they do have some great Happy Hour specials). A couple of things I have to state. It is impossible to re-create the food that comes out of the restaurants in New Orleans anywhere else but in New Orleans. With that being said these guys really have the technique and recipes down to a prefect art. If there was anyplace in New Orleans I could compare this to it would be Mothers on Poydras St. in the CBD. It was good I enjoyed the Oyster PO boy (Made with Washington Oysters not Gulf) the bread was the closest thing I have seen to NO French bread since I have been up here. I would recommend this place to anyone who I willing to take me for a couple of beers. Or someone who wanted to know what the food is like down in the NO south. We had a great time, awesome atmosphere and a great location. Right in the heart of the Alberta District, A 10 with lots of good gris gris. Really nice court yard has the authentic French quarter feel. You got to check it out! Pros: Great Authetic NO Food prep and recipes Cons: With a courtyard like the one they have it should be a constant party. Oh and they don't have a fountain with fire in the middle. more
