I unfortunately had to go to a lot of bad liquor stores before I finally found Zipp's. Up until that point, I was pretty convinced that liquor stores were just not good places to go to.
Zipp's is full of knowledgeable and friendly staff. The knowledgeable part has been extremely nice when I go in to try something new. When I've wanted a good, cheap wine, they respect that I'm not a rich wine collector and know how to lead me to something that they have tasted and enjoyed. Staff reviews on wines help pick things out as well. Also, the staff regularly gets to taste specific liquors to help decide what will be sold in the store.
The selection is absolutely amazing and I've never not been able to find something obscure. They have so many beers that I've been slowly sampling through, but I know it'll be a long time before I make it through half of them.
The building itself is wide open and you don't have to shove your way past other customers, even on the busy weekend nights.
Also, the lines are never long because they always have enough staff to keep the lines moving.
Lastly, I want to mention all of their beer, liquor, and wine events. Zipp's hosts many tasting events every month that allow you to sample new flavors. It helps introduce new things to purchase with confidence.
I definitely recommend this place to everyone. This is my only liquor store.
