Vida Spa Salon

I moved to Georgia in November 2008 from Boston where I was born and raised. Of course, changing states means changing a lot of things. Well, one thing I did not want to change was my hair salon, but I just couldn't justify flying home every 6 weeks for a cut and color! LOL After many disastrous visits to several salons from Suwanee to Roswell, I found my fit - Vida Spa Salon! I'm very particular with my highlights. I want natural, thin streaks that blend with my already light hair color and give it that extra shine of blond. After having suffered through chunky streaks, orange spots underneath my hair, damaged roots and dry ends, and to dye my hair dark brown just to try to start over, all I could do was pray for a professional. And that's what I found at Vida Spa Salon. Melba Hernandez is my stylist and she's awesome! She listens, she takes her time, she isn't pushy about buying expensive products, and helped me get my hair back to normal! I actually have another appointment this afternoon and cannot wait for Melba to work her magic! If you have any doubts about visiting Vida, doubt no more! You've found the "one"!!! more

I've been joining the Vida team for all of my hair & massage needs for over 4 yrs. Salon services are amazing! Whether I want to change my style, color, or simply try something new, I have NEVER been dissapointed. Aaron always knows what to do to keep me coming back in the door. Only once did I have an emergency cut & have to try a different stylist, still amazed. Until i found Vida, I had to deal with hopping around from salon to salon (T&G, Van Michael) trying to find a place that wasn't full of sylist drama, places that would butchered my hair and simply give me an inadequate cut. I recommend my friends & coworkers now to Vida & only Vida. Thanks for all you guys do! more

I just came from Vida Salon where I had an appointment to have a Brazilian Blowout Keratin Hair Straightening Treatment. I had purchased a voucher from Sky Daily Deals/Loclly for this treatment, however before purchasing the voucher I contacted the salon and asked if it was the Brazilian Blowout brand - I was told yes. I asked if it was formaldehyde free - I was told yes. I asked if I could wash my hair immediately after the treatment and put it up in a ponytail - I was told yes. Confident after those questions that I was in fact purchasing a voucher for Brazilian Blowout, I went ahead with my purchase. When I made my appointment at Vida I again asked the same questions and got the same answers. However, today when I sat in the stylist's chair one of the first things she told me was I would not be able to wash my hair for 72 hours after the treatment. That set off a red flag in my mind and I asked her to show me the bottle of the product they would be using on my hair. It was the Global Keratin brand. Although there are different research studies on all types of Keratin straightening products and their levels of formaldehyde, I do feel as the consumer requesting a specific product, I was completely misled by the salon. If you don't care what brand is used on your hair, then I'm sure the Global Keratin treatment would be fine, but I chose to ask for a refund. The salon did comply with my refund request without any hassle and the stylist was very apologetic, although I did get the sense that I was not the first customer who experienced this bait & switch. This was not my first time at Vida. On a previous visit I had paid for a 90 minute massage and actually on got only 60 minutes. I was willing to give them another try, but after today's experience I won't be back. more

I have been going to Vida Spa and Salon since I moved to Atlanta in 2007. The staff is friendly, professional and always greets you with a smile. The Visa Spa Membership Packages are great! Once a month for, $49 a get a facial by Dorina (she is amazing). You can also choose a AHA peel or a Essentials Massage instead of the facial. Joe has also been doing by hair for the last three years. I love coming here- for the atmosphere, the spa and the staff. I would highly recommend Visa Spa and Salon to anyone! more

Aaron is one of the most talented colorists and hair cutters I've ever had and he knows color like few master colorists in metro Atlanta. He does not try to sell unnecessary product but he is one of the most knowledgeable when it comes to knowing your hair and what specific product will make a serious impact on your hair's health and look. I was a loyalist, patronizing the same salon for 18 years. Only Aaron's talent gave me the tenacity to change salons and Vida Salon in Alpharetta is one of the classiest salon/spas in metro Atlanta. Great place for a massage!! The staff at Vida is always extremely courteous and welcoming. I love the decor - you can't help but feel serene and pampered when you get there. Ask for Kelly Mitchell when you make your appointments. She gives a terrific massage, always being thoughtful of her client and their needs. I love the way I feel when I leave Vida - relaxed and refreshed. I highly recommend Vida - enjoy!!! more

I go from a deep brown to a light brown and they know how to make it just the color I want everytime! I have reccomended several of my friends to go there, and for you too as well! Their prices are reasonable, and the salon is nice and warming. more

I started there about 2 yrs ago and had a great person to do color at the Moda/Medlock Bridge. Then suddenly they moved without a word to their other location on Holcomb Br Rd in Roswell. Considering I pay about $130-170 everytime I go, I though they should at least contact clients when they leave town. Then the manager suddenly left and the place seemed to go downward from that point on. About one stylist runs around doing all the work, and many other female employees strut around in stilettos and cleavage just gossiping. I called for an appt on a Sat. afternoon and got an answ machine (usually the busiest day in even the smallest, cheapest salon). I left a message to make an appt with my stylist and they never returned the call. Meantime, they changed the entire name of the salon and when I pulled into the parking lot, almost left the place thinking it no longer existed. Of course, no notification again, even though I always got e-mail coupons regularly, so I was on their mailing list. I think my stylist is crazy for working there--she can get so many other clients with her talents in color---any time I've been there, no other clients are getting their hair done. I've had it with the salon; it's just getting a trashy feel to it. Won't go again for those prices. Pros: One good stylist is left working there Cons: Overpriced, unprofessional, rude attitude more

I do not have many nice things to say about Moda. They also changed their name to Vida or Vita about a month ago, with no explanation. I got a haircut that looked terrible. I called to talk to the owners about it and they were nice and offered to redo it, but I was not about to take a chance with another stylist. Unfortunately, I had to call again a few days later (took them quite a few to get back to me) because the stylist who I had used my account information on my tip check to pay a bill. Moda would not allow me to do cash back so I had to write a check. The salon was supposed to refund me for the tip I gave the stylist, but after many calls and none returned, I have still not received the tip back. I am truly disappointed with the way this salon is run. I see good reviews here and I am sure others have had good experiences, but the two times I have been here the salon has been absolutely dead and after this, no way I will return. Being new the area I took to citysearch to find a great salon in town. Moda had great reviews, so I booked an appointment with Melba. She was *phenomenal*!!!! She spent so much time with me, and while she did make a few suggestions, she also really listened to what I said. Everyone there is so nice. You are treated very special from the time you check in until the time you leave. I have never had a bad cut or color, and I have been going there every month now for over a year. CiCi does my hair and I just love her! She does the best cut and color. Christine O'Grady has been styling my hair for over 5 years. In all that time I have never walked out of the salon anything less than thrilled with her work. She is truely gifted at reading people and a great listener. I have recommended her to several friends and they have always been happy with her work. I went using a groupon that had two visits. The first was a massage - which was fine. The second time I went for a mani/pedi. I did not see them sanitize anything, the service was not good. I felt like this was not spa quality at all. They did not complete half the items that were discribed in there "menu" and what was done was half hearted. Perhaps it i because I went using a Groupon so they just gave inferior service. When I called the manager she said she was "sorry" that was it. My visit to Moda today was exceptional. I had a cut and color and it was the best salon experience I've ever had. Cici was my stylist and she is the one who made the experience so exceptional. Besides her professional expertise, she gives the best shampoo massages! However, before we got to the shampoo, she listened to what I thought I wanted, augmented that with her experience and knowledge and then set to work. My color is perfect...my husband just loves it. I told her I wanted to let my hair grow longer and we discussed what I wanted to accomplish. I lamented to Cici that she was probably too young to understand what I really wanted. I told her that the "shag" style from the 70's was actually perfect for my hair if I wanted length. To my surprise, she said she knew exactly what I was talking about and set about making it happen!
