Very unhappy with care given at this vet. No follow up to see animal being treated is doing ok, very expensive, it seems the only time they want to talk to you is when they want payment. Quote you one price and then all of a sudden they say all these other problems occurred and need more money. This should be the last place you take your pet. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/20/2015

Wow. I'm shocked at these reviews. We have taken our kitty there twice and was very impressed from start to finish. Everyone from the front desk on was so caring and we were quickly taken back to an examination room where Stormy was checked by a tech before the Vet came in to see her. Pricey, perhaps, but everyone I know with pets complain about the medical costs where ever they go. We were pleased with the cleanliness, speed of being seen and the gentleness of all the staff. Medical care is expensive whether you're two legged or four legged. They do give a detailed report of recommended treatment and what the treatment will cost. more

Don't believe everything you hear 1/21/2012

We found a cat who was being fostered until we could find her owners. The cat went into distress and the foster parents were referred to VCA Noah's Place in St Petersburg. Once they signed papers taking ownership of the cat I went through quite an ordeal trying to get them to realize that I was not only a co-owner BUT also the one who was going to pay the bill!! I have to say that they did eventually 'bend' their rules and allow me access to kitty. Dr Berlin was great. Both her and her staff provided great care for kitty. Everyone was very kind and especially loving to kitty. I do feel she received great care while she was there. I agree with the other reviews that they do seem to be more expensive than other places and are VERYconcerned about getting the bill paid. It was explained to me that the ownership changed about 2 years ago and they 'adopted' the bad reputation of the prior owners. They appear to be working to correct that reputation and I would take kitty back for primary care. It is just a shame that the $$$ is so obvious. They care for the animals. I would like to see them put this foremost and make the $$$ part less obvious. Pros: null Cons: null more

Protect Your Pet, Keep Them Out Of Noah's Place!!! 11/15/2011

I am spreading the word on this place on every site that may be viewed. DON'T take your precious babies to this horrible place. My little dog was left laying in her own blood basically bleeding to death and they wouldn't even look at her until they new for sure I had $1500 to put down. Strangly enough, they will make deals with you. When it comes down to it, the bill might be exactly the $1200 you have in your account. This place is disgusting!! The vets are trash and you probably have a better chance of saving your pet yourself. Pros: null Cons: null more

Unecessary Tragedy 7/1/2011

My 4 1/2month yellow lab pulled hurt his leg playing. We brought him to VCA Noah's ARk because of a referral. The vet said they had to do an xray and sedate him. We did not want to do the sedation but they said it would be 30min and he could go home. SInce it was a wait for the xray, they suggested we leave and they would call us when done. One hour later they called and said our puppy had died and they had to resuscitate him. (We signed papers agreeing to resuscitation prior to the xray. We thought this was strange) We told them we were coming right back and they said we could not see him as he was critical. On our way back, my husband called the Vet and was told the puppy was extubated and awake and doing better. She suggested we come in the morning. We were already 10min away so we went in. When we got there, the Vet could not explain anything. She told us he had a reaction BUT they continued giving him anesthesia and then he was vomiting from the reaction and they intubated him. While we were talking the tech came in and told the doctor she needed to speak with her. 10 min later the vet walked in and said your dog is dead. We had signed papers stating we wanted resuscitation and we were told the dog was fine. If he took a turn, why did they not resuscitate and let us make the decision. When they brought him to us, he was cold, gums were white and he was stiff. No way did he JUST die. He also had unexplained stitches on his face..they never told us why they were placed there. REMEMBER we brought a puppy with a muscle sprain. They still have no explanation and each has a different story. I will never go back there again!!! more

My boyfriend and I had to take our 112 lb Mastiff in for an emergency last Sunday. He was at the dog park and injured his leg, to the point he wasnt walking at all. The staff greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. Dr Berlin came into see us and we never felt like she was in a hurry. Dr Berlin took great care and time making sure we understood her diagnosis. We wernt expecting this kind of finacial emergency, however it was made very clear that our dogs wellbeing was of upmost importance, and easily came to a very resonable financial payment plan. I am happy to say he is doing well and we are forever in Dr Berlin and VCA Noahs Place debt for taking such wonderful care of our gentle giant. :) more

VCA Sucks, Money Hungry B**tards!!! 2/2/2011

My girlfriend and I had gone to Noah's Place 3 years ago when they were still working on expanding the place. At that time they were expensive, but we went for the 2/1 vaccines which were great. After they ripped us off over a surgery that we found out our dog really didn't need from the specialist we ended up going to after. We vowed to never go back there. A couple weeks ago my girlfriends dog got sick over the weekend. Our normal vet was closed and that left us to choose between the 2 - 24hr emergency vets. So we decided to take a chance with Noahs since we had heard that it was bought over by VCA we figured that it being a corporation that they probably made vast improvements. Boy were we WRONG! The moment we got there we had to wait literally 30 minutes till we got in a room after our appointment time. Then we sat in that room for another 20 minutes before the doctor came in. Who did a quick examination, asked questions and then the doctor and tech left the room. To where the tech more

We have gone to Dr. Berlin for a few years, and I wouldn't take my cats anywhere else. I know when I take them to VCA Noah's, they are in good hands. I drive 27 miles to get there. Dr. Berlin is very caring, more

VCA Noah ripped off dying pooch's owner 1/23/2011

I took my dog to VCA Noah's at 9:30 this morning after he seemed to have trouble with his hind legs. After a quick examination, the doctor said he may have a urinary infection and went to a back room and sent a technician back with a $1,300.00 estimate! more

Confused & heartbroken 10/14/2010

I took my 5month old kitten their with a Eye Problem they Informed me he had a Upper respiratory think because we did not agree to buy all the tests and medican's they wanted, They got upset. I ened up taking my Kitten ( Sammy back their tonight he was having Breathing Problems after he was given a dose of WHAT I WAS TOLD THE MEDICAN FOR THIS INFECTION. They had given him a eye cream at the first vist, But said Nothing about another medican to give him ti cure the inner infection. The Medican i bought today was just a (SUPPLEMENT) I WAS VERY ANGERY AND FELT I WAS LIED TO TODAY. My Kitten was back at the vets tonight and take in the back and put on oxygen. Then they had a Esitmate of 2,000 for treatments and medican. I asked why we weren't asked the first vist if we wanted to buy the antibiotics to Cure this. My Kitten Died their tonight it Broke myheart that he had to suffer the way he did unable to eat or drink anything. I was told the Supplement wasn't a cure for his INFECTION, THEN WHY DID I BUY IT WHEN I ASKED IF IT WAS WHEN I CALLED IN THE MORNING. I feel that i was lied to and cheated out of the choice to buy the antibiotics that would have gotten him well and kept him alive. more

The Animal Hospital that requires you to be RICH!!!! 9/27/2010

My 4 year old Chihuahua was rushed there and diagnosed with pyometra..... a deadly infection of her uterus. she was not spayed. This is a life threatening emergency and she needed to have her uterus and tubes and ovaries removed. The diagnostic workup estimate turned out to be nearly $600.00 alone. Then, I received a treatment estimate for spaying ..... yes, spaying .... which was very close to $3,000 dollars!!!!!!!! more

They have changed 8/14/2010

I was in complete shock when i read the reviews on here, granted all comments were posted last year at earliest, but i feel that since only bad comments have been posted that maybe some of the good should be as well. I recently moved to the area, and i went to a VCA at my home town, so upon moving here i just looked up the closest VCA and it sent me to VCA Noahs, beautiful facility inside and out. The front desk was friendly and inviting, they even knew my pet by name! After a few minutes of wait, a tech came to the lobby to greet me and my pet, they gave him a treat and then escorted us back to the room. They did a quick review of my pet and his history, and then the doctor came in, she answered all my questions, and made me feel comfortable. After my visit with the doctor, the tech came back in and then escorted me to the front desk and gave the receptionist all my information. I felt like i was apart of the family there. It was an extremely pleasent visit and would go back anytime! more

Wow, this is insane! 8/21/2009

Forget this place, go to Clearwater Animal Hospital. I used to live in St. Pete and would drive to Clearwater just so my dog could receive the best care possible and they have reasonable prices. The Vets there are fantastic! You get more than your money's worth!!!!!!! Pros: ? Cons: ? more

A deadly choice 8/21/2009

I just thought to look up information about Noah's today. I'm amazed! Everything everyone says about the money, whisking your pet away to the back for an extended period of time without updates and the almost theatrical and certainly superbly well-orchestrated series of consultations (to make sure you agree to pay more and more money, not to give updates) are all true. Cons: poor care, expensive, insincere more

If You Love Your Pet, STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE!! 8/13/2009

This place is nothing more than a money-suck. They could care less about treating your pet correctly, they just want to squeeze as much money as possible with lots of unneccessary and costly tests, that sometimes make your pet worse. You're not paying for treatment of your pet, your paying for the renovation of their facility. My pet does not need bottled water, it needs a vet that actually knows what they're doing. Pros: absolutely none Cons: ridiculous prices, inadequate/inexperienced techs and vets more

BEWARE! THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY! 11/3/2007

I had a bad experience there when they misdiagnosed my cat a few years ago. I went there in an emergency when my cat was sick & my old vet had just moved out of town. I had to argue with them to prevent paying for expensive tests that my cat didn't need, i.e. FeLV, FIV, as she'd already had those at her old vet's. Pros: nothing-there are other emergency animal clinics Cons: incompetence of staff and outrageous prices more

Paying for their new remodel 8/8/2007

I really like some of the Vet Techs there, unfortunately I am unhappy with the service at this point and I'm not going to take my babies there anymore. It's close to home and it used to be affordable. I feel like I am getting my oil changed at car dealership when I drop off my pets. I wait in the waiting room and then the Vet Tech brings my animals back out and tells me what's wrong. Instead of being able to sit in the room with Veterinarian and have the Vet give me the "consultation" I am paying for. Some of the Vet techs are new and don't know how to explain things correctly and you get uh...should be this and um...maybe that. When I bring my animals there I expect for a Veterinarian to explain everything to me. There is no comfort at all, your out in the lobby and wonder what is going on back there. Also, if you pay for tests to be taken on your animals you expect to hear weather the animal is negative or positive, not for a vet tech to say "it must be negative, because the doctor didn?t write anything down, so we will assume it's negative" then she goes to double check with him and who knows what they said back there. How can you remember if you don?t document it? In the middle of your ?consultation? the vet techs stop in the middle of everything to answer the phones, ask everybody if they have been helped, etc. so what could be a 20 minute discussion turns into a 45 minute discussion, then you spend another 20 minutes trying to pay. One more thing I spent over 700.00 on a small surgery and after checking around at a few places, 3 well known places would have charged a little over 200.00. WOW. I should have checked before trying to get my baby somewhere quick. That?s a huge difference. Hopefully the new place looks nice, because I just bought your new lobby area from just my few visits. Thanks for trying to help. Pros: A few nice Vet Techs Cons: Too many to mention at this point more

Heartguard Snap cost and poor communication 9/1/2006

My purpose for the visit was to register my dogs there by getting there annual shots .I saw there add on TV about the cost of $49.98 . This cost is for each dog . I also purchased the heartworm snap test, but to my surprise was $60.85 When I was told that price I thought she meant it was $49.95 for the vaccines and the rest to total $60.85 was the heartworm test. Cons: inadequately trained staff, you are not present when shots are given you stay in waiting room more
