Unecessary Tragedy 7/1/2011

My 4 1/2month yellow lab pulled hurt his leg playing. We brought him to VCA Noah's ARk because of a referral. The vet said they had to do an xray and sedate him. We did not want to do the sedation but they said it would be 30min and he could go home. SInce it was a wait for the xray, they suggested we leave and they would call us when done. One hour later they called and said our puppy had died and they had to resuscitate him. (We signed papers agreeing to resuscitation prior to the xray. We thought this was strange) We told them we were coming right back and they said we could not see him as he was critical. On our way back, my husband called the Vet and was told the puppy was extubated and awake and doing better. She suggested we come in the morning. We were already 10min away so we went in. When we got there, the Vet could not explain anything. She told us he had a reaction BUT they continued giving him anesthesia and then he was vomiting from the reaction and they intubated him. While we were talking the tech came in and told the doctor she needed to speak with her. 10 min later the vet walked in and said your dog is dead. We had signed papers stating we wanted resuscitation and we were told the dog was fine. If he took a turn, why did they not resuscitate and let us make the decision. When they brought him to us, he was cold, gums were white and he was stiff. No way did he JUST die. He also had unexplained stitches on his face..they never told us why they were placed there. REMEMBER we brought a puppy with a muscle sprain. They still have no explanation and each has a different story. I will never go back there again!!! more
