Dr. Gary Tylock is literally the worst doctor I have ever seen. He didn't take my concerns or questions seriously. He seemed unfriendly and distracted. The eye exam he gave me at Gary Tylock Laser Center was not thorough. He answered a personal cell phone call during my exam! He did nothing to inspire my confidence. There are much better eye doctors out there... don't visit this one. Pros: Nothin Cons: Fraud Ripoff Scam more

Severe pain and dryness every night 4/20/2010

I too am experiencing horrible pain in the middle of the night in either one eye or the other after undergoing PRK 15 months ago by Gary Tylock. I have to peel my eyes apart and it feels like I am taking the top layer of my eye with it sometimes. \r The only thing that seems to help some is drinking LOTS of water (at least 1/2 my body wt in ounces) daily. I have to wear an eye mask when the ceiling fan is on at night and use gel drops nightly. I do have 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other. \r Was it worth it? I do wish I would have shopped around for a more ethical Dr and had a more thorough exam. If I had been told I was at a higher risk for dry eyes (and I think they can see this with a thorough exam), I would not have done it. We weren’t happy but satisfied. 1/25/2010

I went in to have my eyes cared for and medically corrected by what I thought was a competent eye doctor Gary Tylock. Dr. Gary Tylock told me that I would never need glasses again. In fact that is their motto. Putting aside the extreme pain. It did not work out now I need glasses (mind you before I did not wear glasses) now I have to wear them always. I ended up loosing his job since he could not function properly (welding is precise). I did go in and made his complaint and made follow up visits. Still it did not work out. I ended up making such a fuss Gary Tylock Lasik Vision sent him a letter excusing him of the bill. We weren’t happy but satisfied. Cons: Con artist, overcharged more

This company is very unethical 1/19/2010

I do not appreciate Gary Tylock Eye Center! They are extremely unethical and unfair. I called Gary Tylock to ask if he could operate on my eyes. I have been told by other institutes that they couldn’t because I had Lupus and that only the newest machines could. So the very first question I asked was can you operate on me with Lupus. Dr. Gary Tylock told me of course he could and it was no problem and would I like to schedule a complimentary appointment. He talks to me for a while and then says he cannot operate on me because I had Lupus. Are you kidding me? He actually told me that it was a law in the state of California and no eye doctor could operate on any person whom has had Lupus. This company is very unethical and I would not recommend them to anyone. Cons: Rip off more

regret having to take this decision 1/18/2010

Prior to surgery that Gary Tylock Eye Center did on my eyes were both approximately -5.75. Now my left is 20/20 by the chart. My right is 20/25. With significant dryness bilaterally. All of which is fine. Even the dryness is manageable with drops during the day. However, I have unbearable pain in the right eye at night. So severe, I cannot sleep and must resort to NSAIDS, acetaminophen, and hydrating eye gels around 4am, every night. Gary Tylock destroyed my life. I walk around like a zombie every day. The situation is truly horrific. I regret having to take this decision risk with my eyes and choosing Dr.Gary Tylock. Cons: scam more

Gary Tylock stole my money 1/17/2010

I had LASIK eye surgery performed by Dr. Gary Tylock. Mister Gary Tylock performed a grossly undersized ablation on my large pupils leaving me with permanently ruined night vision and not enough corneal tissue remaining to ever do anything about it. Once my eyes were ruined and Gary Tylock Eye Center had their money, they refused to see me. It took me many months to collect a refund for follow-up visits I had prepaid. False advertising Tylock Eye Center 1/14/2010

Is it possible to get Lasik eye surgery for half the price? That’s what Gary Tylock Eye Center was offering in commercials adds. The ads claimed the center was conducting a clinical study and offered participants Lasik in one eye for half the price. At the same time, Gary Tylock has been advertising ""buy one, get one half the price” Lasik separately from the study offer. In response to BBB requests, Dr. Gary Tylock has not provided basic information about the advertised study or the continuous “buy one, get one halt the price” offer. Cons: Scam more

This guy Gary Tylock seems to be interested only in $$$ and not what patients really need. Is it really a responsible thing to tell people to wander about for months with an outdated prescription??? Might want to consider a 2nd opinion if you're told you need months of therapy. Watch out! more

Dr. Gary Tylock is very dishonest 1/8/2010

Dr. Gary Tylock is very dishonest. He recommends unnecessary surgeries and does not fully explain things to you. He spends very little time with you as well. This doesn't help with the lack of communication. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. Maybe he is OK, but he seems very motivated by money. I went to him for medical problems, not plastics. Ultimately, he was not honest with me and this is a top concern when my doctor isn't telling me the truth about my condition and what the options are. Cons: he seems very motivated by money more

I as well witnessed this Dr. Gary Tylock to be very fast, quick, and impatient. In this case, it was with an elderly patient, and as the patient had an additional question and was saying ""Sir Sir"", he continued to walk out pretending he did not hear the patient. Its clear this doctor does not enjoy his line of work and would rather be doing something else. Sorry but, umm, you wanted to be an eye doctor! Cons: does not enjoy his line of work more

Dr. Gary Tylock became angry when I asked for clarification on why a very expensive test procedure (that I would have to pay for out of pocket) was needed and refused to even talk to me or answer my questions about it unless I did the procedure first. I refused the test procedure that day and received a letter a few days later advising me that his practice was dropping me as a patient due to my ""non-compliance. Dr. Gary Tylock requires all patients pay upfront for unnecessary tests. Their office policy requires everyone take a basic eye exam, even patients referred by other eye doctors who currently have a good prescription. Dr. Tylock is not interested in being a specialist or in helping patients. Bad lasik at Tylock Eye Care & Laser Center 12/1/2009

I had Lasik surgery at Dr. Gary Tylock. The surgery was so unprofessional; the doctor was talking to his assistants the whole time like I wasn't even there, and made me feel like he wasn't even paying attention to me. My results were not very good initially and after a month it all went bad. Dr Tylock would not see me again untill I pushed the issue then he didn't listen and barely checked my eyes, post surgery they treat you awful. I feel like they took my money and ran. Now its almost been a year and my eyesight is worse than it started. I cant see at night. When I went to see another eye doctor, she was shocked at the scarring on my eyes and said it was the worst she's seen. I don't recommend recommend Dr. Tylock. Cons: careless more
