Been there many many times. Last time twoweeks ago. A sad shadow of what it used to be. Foos is now lacklustre...wait staff run ragged. Everywhere cost cutting is obvious. I hope ...

Not Enjoyable 8/16/2007

We got the little beeper so they could inform us when our table was ready and we went to get a drink at the bar. Then we waited...and waited...and waited..until the bartender finally said it really isn't that busy, go check at the desk to see why you haven't been seated. We checked and sure enough, they had forgotten about us or something because they tested the beeper and it worked. They sat us immediately. It wasn't busy, with lots of empty tables. I had the Italian wedding soup for appetizer and it was very, very, very salty. I was extremely hungry after the long wait but still couldn't finish it. I got the Shrimp Scampi for an entree. It had 4 medium size shrimp sitting on pasta in a puddle of water with (I'm not exaggerating) a 1.5 inch thick layer of limp red onions! Simply awful. Wine was good. Wait service was good. Avoid. Pros: Cool Balcony Cons: Food more

Great place! 7/25/2007

Went to Twisted Fork for dinner with friends Tuesday night. It was a large group and the staff did a great job accommodating our needs. The food was delicious - i got the duck - and the portion sizes were so gigantic 2 of my more immature friends had a sandwich eating contest. I was amazed they finished it because it was HUGE! dessert was the BEST part - the red velvet cake is to die for. great beer selection - you would never guess you were at the mall.\r Overall it was a great dining experience and I will definitely return. Pros: food, service...everything Cons: smoking kills people, even when they think they are cool sitting at the bar. more

Love everthing but the price 7/6/2007

I love this place! Good food & service. A great place to take your friends & family - there is something for everyone. The outdoor dining is a nice extra! Pros: Food is really good! Ambience Cons: Expensive more

Eat Somewhere Else 5/6/2007

After visiting the mall, my girlfriend and I decided to give Twisted Fork a try. We eat out frequently and this was a disappointment. The atmosphere here is good, the desserts were good, the food was OK but pricey. The service is slow (this isn't fine dining) inattentiveness from hostesses, management and servers. The worst part about it was not the food it was the STRAWBERRY LEMONADE my girlfriend ordered!!! It took the server forever to bring (AT LEAST 15 MINUTES). This drink is prepared by the bartender, hence the price $3.50 with no liquor. Another patron ordered the same thing and asked for a shot of vodka to go with it., mind you cannot get a refill thats another $3.50. The servers need to tell you that upfront before suggesting it to you. However the rootbeer soda is very good. The Cesar Salad I ordered wasn't made with Romaine Lettuce it came with Spring Mix. My suggestion is to eat somewhere else. If you're gonna rob me at least use a gun and a ski mask. Rocky Top puts to much emphasis on decor and not the quality of food. These are upscale/pricey environments that the customer pays for. Do yourself a favor for the service, food quality & prices here EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE. Pros: Dessert /Rootbeer Soda Cons: Pricey for what they offer/ Service not up to par more

Truly a unique dining experience. 11/15/2006

While shopping at the mall, my wife and i decided to try The Twisted Fork. I normally do not frequent mall restaurants b/c I hate chains. My wife had been there for lunch and raved about the salads they had and mentioned I would like it b/c of thier steak selection. I gave into my wife and gave it a try. I was very impressed, to say the least. The decor of this place is awseome, very high ceilings with red everywhere. The bar looked awesome, t.v.s and big booths everyewhere. I didnt realize they were affiliated with Michael Dean's (one of my favorite restaurants) but soon saw the similarities in the attention to detail concerning both food and service I have come to expect from Michael Dean's. As my wife mentioned they did have a great steak selection and I even got to pick out my own cut from their ""market"" where pretty much anything you want from meat, pork, poultry and seafood is on display in glass cases. They even have one of my favorite beers on draft, not that I couldnt find a suitable second..or third..or 30th choice!! As far as service is concerned, it was propbably the best service I have ever recieved as well. Very friendly, knowledgable and made my wife and I feel like we were the only ones there. I am not much of a sweets guy but my wife made me try their Tia Maria cake and it was outstanding. From start to finish it was a great experience, I will definitely be back. Pros: Atmosphere, service, food, affiliation Cons: Parking, no signs for bathroom more

Waste of money and time 8/26/2006

My husband and I dine out very often and so decided to try the Twisted Fork at Triangle Town Center. We were EXTREMELY disapointed with the food (ordinary, bland and the dessert was stale), and the service (slow, disinterested staff). For the price of our meals, we could have enjoyed ourselves at a better quality restaurant. Not worth your time or money. Cons: Poor food, service and quality more

indifferent,bland 8/13/2006

MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE VISITED THIS RESTURANT ON THREE OCCASIONS,ALL BELOW AVERAGE.INDIFFERENT STAFF AND MANAGEMENT.OVERALL STAFF SEEM UNHAPPY TO BE WORKING THERE AND IT SHOWS.FOOD ""SHOWS"" WELL BUT IS BLAND AND OVERPRICED.TONIGHTS STEAK SALAD WAS OVERCOOKED AND NOT CUT ON THE CROSS GRAIN.TAI SALAD WAS BEYOUND BLAND.MANAGEMENT REPLACED STEAK SALAD,DROPED OFF THE NEW ENTREE AND NEVER SPOKE A WORD TO US.NOT TO WORRY,WE WILL NOT BE BACK.FIND A RESTURANT THAT CARES ABOUT THE FOOD AND SERVICE,DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE Pros: PARKING Cons: FOOD QUALITY, SERVICE, MANAGEMENT more

Lots of potential 8/9/2006

I have eaten at Twisted Fork on countless occasions (to the point that I have a favorite server, and get recognized by other wait staff). I find that they are declining in quality over time. I'm not sure if it's a cost control measure or what, but I've found the menu getting more condensed with less variety. I know they're paying mall rent, but the prices are outpacing the quality of food. Service is usually pretty good, especially Molly. Pros: Location, atmosphere, SERVICE Cons: Average food, relatively pricey more

Best Desserts! 7/21/2006

The TWisted Fork is without question the best place for desserts in the Triangle! The Tia Maria cake was fantastic! Other postings about prices are nuts, the portions are great and the prices are well below what you will see at similar restaurants. \r \r My kids love it,and they eat free there every Sunday! Pros: Desserts, prices, service. Cons: parking more

Average at best 7/18/2006

Okay.. So the ambience is good. But once your in, they have no idea what to do next. The prices are too high for the quality of food. I'm not saying the food is bad, but it is unremarkable. It's just okay. Our dessert key lime pie was mediocre. I was not impressed. Pros: Pretty Cons: Average food, higher than average prices more

Below average food - Better place elsewhere 6/18/2006

This place is awful! The service was unprofessional. The food was nothing to brag about. The seafood salad was tasteless and dry. It looked like is was sitting there for days. The drinks were average. The overall rating of 9.0 is too high. If it was up to me I will give it a 8.0 and that's pushing it. more

Very nice atmosphere, Pretty good food. 3/19/2006

The atmosphere is very modern and a refreshing break from the usual cookie-cutter style mall restaurants. I felt as though the wait staff were pushing sales more than caring that we were enjoying our pricey meals. They say that Twisted Fork is a ""dessert first"" restaurant and that just tells me that they try too hard at marketing gimmicks. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Pricey, Too much selling more

Meh 12/31/2005

Service was unprofessional. We had reservations, and after waiting 15 minutes past reservation time and seeing walk-ins who came in after us being seated, we reminded the hostess that we were there, and suddenly there was a table available. Napkins had holes in them. Food taste was average. The food was high priced for the amount of food received. Overall, an average restaurant that is priced like a nice restaurant. Pros: Table spacing good., Courteous staff., Nice decor. Cons: Bad hosting., Overpriced. more

Avoid the Bar 11/21/2005

We've had several good experiences when dining at Twisted Fork, but recently had a poor experience when meeting friends at the bar. Service is very poor at the bar. Otherwise, we find the food is usually pretty good and the beer selection is very good. Pros: Food, Beer selection Cons: Service , Crowded more

Barely average 11/3/2005

I am new to the area and always looking for places to go when visitors come to town. I felt the contemporary design was tired although the lay out was interesting. Concept is fun and the staff is great but the food was very average. Nothing terribly exciting on the menu and the food could have easily been served anywhere. Maybe too much time spent on presentation, which is important, but not at the expense of the food. I went for the draft beer list but there are not as many as listed on their website. Pros: Parking, Customer service, Beer List Cons: Food, Atmosphere more

give it a chance 10/13/2005

I have always loved michael deans. We went to twisted fork one night several months ago, and was WAY disappointed in my fish entree. Management was great, and took it off the menu. We were hesitant on going back though. 2nd time sold me! 1/2 price wine on Tues, with good wine list. Got free salad and dessert on Tues too. Sara, our waitress remembered our previous trip, and made sure all was right this time! Bread warm and VERY good. Excellent ambience. Can smoke at bar area. ALL of meal was SUPERB. Seared tuna with seaweed salad was AWESOME!! They really aim to make it right-- I'm glad we gave them a second chance-- we'll be back!! Pros: ambience, unique eclectic food, aim to please more

bland 7/31/2005

Much like my experience at other ""Rocky Top"" restaurants, the food here is quite bland, and too expensive for what is offered. All four of us were disappointed with our selections. Apparently, plain and simple food (you could quite readily surpass these entries at home) served in an uber-stylish atmosphere is enough to satisfy most folks, but we won't go back. Pros: decor Cons: food more

Nice atmosphere but not a good value. 6/24/2005

Twisted Fork seems to embody what the problem is with most restaurants in the Triangle: Style over substance. The food is very expensive for what you get and is average at best. Even the desserts, which many rave about, are overrated in my opinion. Some are not very fresh and the price is very high ($6). The atmosphere is very nice-- great decor, lot's of energy, nice outdoor seating. Also, there are a variety of offerings, which is nice. But overall, I think it's no better than average. Pros: atmosphere, variety Cons: price, food quality more

Great Food! 3/6/2005

Though difficult to find, this restaurant has a wide variety of choices from pasta dishes to steaks, seafood, and pork chops. The freshly baked bread served before our meal was warm and very tasty. The ribeye was out of this world! The ceasar salad left a bit to be desired, but the house salad looked much better, with a variety of greens. Desserts were superb. The wait staff could have been more attentive. Pros: Excellent food, Good variety, Good value Cons: Hard to find, Walk from parking more

Not worth the money 1/9/2005

I went to the Twisted Fork for lunch with a friend. The food was over priced and the waiter for my friends order completely wrong. I wont be going back. Pros: OK Food Cons: , Bad Service, Bad Seating more
