Worst

Been there many many times. Last time twoweeks ago. A sad shadow of what it used to be. Foos is now lacklustre...wait staff run ragged. Everywhere cost cutting is obvious. I hope ...

hit or miss 7/29/2004

Ate here 3 times in the last month. First time was impressed by food and service however the other two times were slightly disappointing. Service was adequate and occasional and food was just average. Not worth the price. Pros: attractive setting Cons: , inconvenient access more

great steaks 6/27/2004

What a great place. I love the fact that you can shop the counter, or sit and dine in. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. My favorite are the steaks. The bar scene is really fun too, with the upstairs music, the open-air counter overlooking the courtyard. They really care about your business! I will be a frequent customer and recommend this place to others. Pros: parking, atmosphere, flexible venue more

This is the place to go for Deserts The Turtle cheese cake was out of this world. The food was great as well, but I would return just for the deserts any day. Robin B Pros: Good parking, Great location Cons: , exspensive more

What a neat concept! 5/19/2004

Went to TF last night for dinner, and it was great! Our server was exceptional I think you couldve asked him anything about the menu, and he would know the answers. We had the crab dip - very yummy! My boyfriend loved his angus burger juicy and cooked just right. I loved my creamy corn crab soup and pesto chicken panini - scrumptious. My friend loved her crab cakes - delightful. The atmosphere is contemporary but very comfortable. The selection of food is incredible; I dont know if Ill ever get to try everything So much to choose from. Its definitely a place worth going back to! Pros: knowledgeable staff, colorful atmosphere, large selection more

I don't get it... 4/27/2004

I heard great things about Twisted Fork, but after trying it, I don't get the big deal :O( Food was average (salmon sandwich), but nothing to rave about...the service was pretty awful (way too slow for a quiet Tues. night)....and I left pretty unfulfilled. The atmosphere I really felt was up to par. The large ceilings and second floor really add to the experience, as well as the counter with available food to go. Overall however, pretty disappointing. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: , Poor service more

Great Experience 4/5/2004

Dined at Twisted Fork back in Jan 04...not to long after the restaurant opened. The service was great, the food was similar to what you can expect at any of the other restaurants that these guys own; Bogarts, Vivo, Michael Deans...The ambience could be one of the best in the Triangle, with the Market on site, I liked being able to pick out my food, literally. This place is buzzing at night, so try it for yourself and see if you like it Pros: Good Location, Market, Good Service more

Excellent Value, Great Food! 4/1/2004

On my first visit to the Twisted Fork, I stopped in for a quick lunch in the bar. The Jambalaya was well spiced, and the salad was fresh with tangy dressing. On Thursday nights, the Twisted Fork offers $4 top shelf martinis and also has a comedy night. I returned a few weeks later on Thursday night. The martinis were fantastic, and they were, indeed, only $4 each. I tried the mesquite grilled, herb rubbed shrimp kabobs with ponzu sauce and the mashed potatos. It was the best meal I've had in Raleigh in some time. My boyfriend ordered a steak with the special barbecue sauce and the corn/crab chowder. His was also excellent. We both ate every bite. I highly recommend the Twisted Fork for the diversity of the menu, the unusual ambience, and the friendly, helpful service. I will definitely go back again (probably next Thursday)! Pros: Extensive Menu, Martini Night (Thurs), Great Ambience more

Review 3/16/2004

We got seated very quickly on a Saturday. Should have known from that what was going to follow. They brought out the bread after we sat down. It was cold, tasteless, and not fresh. I wish we would have left after that. Any place that can't get the bread right usually follows with poor food. My husband ordered the $9.00 burger. When it arrived it looked like the size of a Whopper. You would think for $9.00 you would get an exceptional burger but it was dried out on top of that. I had the seafood pasta which was $17.00. Nothing came with the meal besides the pasta dish. The portion was small and was smothered with too much herbs. Needless to say, we will not return. more

Good lunch place 3/9/2004

We went here for lunch and got the 3 salad/soup sampler. Crab/corn soup was superb! As was the buffalo chicken salad (mixed greens, gorgonzola cheese, buffalo chix strips and dressing). Desserts sounded great but we were too full. They also had an extensive martini/mixed drinks/dessert drinks menu we were tempted to come back and try sometime. The bigger entrees (probably for dinner) looked expensive, so I might just stick to lunch type foods. Overall it is a neat place, and I love the layout. Pros: neat atmosphere, good soup/salads, friendly staff more

Could be better 2/27/2004

I really like the bar and the overall look of the place. As far as dinner goes, the portions you get for $12-15 are lacking and none of the food really had a grab-your-tastebuds flavor. My girlfriend didn't like her Spahgetti at all so the very courteous waiter didn't charge us for it and gave us a free dessert. Now the dessert, that was tasty. Pros: service, dessert more

Good....but 11/24/2003

This is a market style restaurant. Lots to choose from here. There are over 20 different cuts of meat (beef, chicken, pork, veal...), 10 or so different fish and at least 30 desserts! Unfortunately, wine is also sold in the ""market"" and if you want it, you have to go get it. Yep, you peruse the crowded area looking for a bottle of wine you can afford then you take it back to your table and wait for the server to pour it. The wine also seemed more expensive than the normal markup we expect when out. We opted for beer and mixed drinks instead. Lots of beer on tap! We did get live entertainment and to our surprise it was quite good and not too loud or obtrusive. The service was good, not great and the prices were a good value. We'll probably go back. Pros: Variety!, Ample parking, Good Bar Cons: wine service more
