Best

I enjoy this restaurant so much! It's got a great patio eating area and the food is just great. I always enjoy my visit here. The staff is very friendly and the service has yet...

Worst

The food here is not good. The chicken is always dry. The only thing that's half way decent are the mashed potatoes. The music isn't that great, but it's pretty entertaining watch...

Twin Palms is My Kind of Place 10/19/2009

Awesome food, and I love the crowd. I feel right at home here. The ambience has a special feel to it. My favorite time to come is for the Sunday Gospel brunch. Pros: Fun place to hang out Cons: Parking is difficult at best more

Terrible service, delectable dishes 9/28/2009

This place has an indoor seating and outdoor (gazebo covered patio seating. It gets very crowded during the weekends. At 10pm live bands starts playing a mixture of music or DJ spinning. It can be a fun place, however it is populated mostly by more mature people (40ish and up), there are younger crowds as well (not as much). The food was delicious. We had 4 guests in our group we all ordered different dishes. I sampled all and every single plate was tasty. I ordered Salmon - it was fresh, tasty and cooked just right. The chicken alfredo was very delectable as well. The service however was terrible. It took our server at least 15 minutes to acknowledge us. Another 15 to take our orders for drinks, 20 minutes to bring it to us. All this just for drinks. Not to mention how long the server took to come back for our food orders and how long it took for us to get our plates. Over-all we spent 2.5 hours, which wouldn't be too bad if we were enjoying ourselves. If you were sitting at a bar next to each other, trying to enjoy the music - then the place would've been perfect. However we went for a birthday dinner, it didn't go well since it was way too crowded, too loud and we couldn't even converse with each other without having to raise our voices. The plates were average amount ranges from $15 above. They have a full bar. The outdoor patio is very bright, so if you're in a romantic date this wouldn't be the right spot. Its too loud and too bright. The indoor seating may be a bit more apt for the occasion. Street parking is available, however it is very limited. There is a parking structure right next to the restaurant that offer 90 min free. Pros: Delicious food Cons: Bad service, too loud, too bright more

halfway to heaven.... but not quite kid. 12/10/2008

We had our Company Party here and the service was great... Everything was so prompt and everyone was so caring to our needs. The food was really good too and the place was beautiful. The only sad thing was that they were quick to kick us out as soon as the dinner was done, even though we were spending a whole lot at the bar (we're a nightclub company). And the bar staff could have been friendlier too. Pros: Food, Kitchen Service, Wait Staff Cons: Bar Staff, Bar Management more

Sweet Ambience 11/11/2008

I enjoy this restaurant so much! It's got a great patio eating area and the food is just great. I always enjoy my visit here. The staff is very friendly and the service has yet to disappoint me. They also play great jazz in the evening. A nice glass of wine and wonderful tunes.... :) Pros: Great Environment, Great Service more

Super Vibe! 4/26/2008

Friends took me here last night for dinner, and they confirmed my trust in their good taste!\r From the moment we walked in we were treated as valued guests. The service and food was great, and as mentioned the vibe was right on! Wish we had one in NorCal!\r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r more

What's all the ruckus? 3/19/2008

I don't know what everyone is raving about with this place. I was not impressed with their food. Had a luncheon with some friends and we all agreed that it wasn't all that. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to those who have a knack for flavorful food even if it is just a simple pasta dish. It was just too ordinary. It's okay I guess you're into sitting in a garden-like room but I like to spend my money on GOOD FOOD not just ambiance. Pros: Nice outdoor dining room Cons: Valet, aloof hostess, so-so lunch more

Live Music! 3/8/2008

Good food, good atmosphere and live music too! Since its outdoor dining, its great for a breezy summer night! more

Nice atmosphere 11/15/2006

Good food, very nice to eat here when it's nice weather. Always good service and I believe that they have live music Friday and Saturday evening until 10pm. Pros: Happy hour, Lunch specials, great pizzas Cons: Pasadena traffic/parking is tough but they have a structure adjacent to the restaurant more

Great Atmosphere but soso brunch 10/25/2006

My sorority has organized bruches every semester, but their brunch buffet never change. The food is not outstanding, it's just average taaste with usual sussage, egg, omelette...etc. Also, there are quite a few desserts, but not one of them is good. Pros: Great outdoor experience and service Cons: average food more

poor live ""band"" 9/18/2006

The night I went was suppose to be ""Jazz"" night.. but it was NOTHING close to jazz. They had like, their dishwashers pretend to play the guitar while they play music on cd or something. So I wouldn't go there for entertainment since they emphasize how they have great food and entertainment. My scallops were very small, the mediterranean plate was overpriced.. so the food was average. dessert was great though. the overall bill for my two friends and me was about $150 including apetizer, 3 entree, drinks and desserts - so that was pretty good. more

Good Food Fun Times 8/2/2006

I've been for several occasions from company gatherings to intimate dinners for 2. The staff is always friendly, the food is excellent (I love the grilled artichoke) and on the weekends they have different live bands. The tables are pushed back and the courtyard is one big dance floor. The crowd is mixed and everyone mingles nicely. Pros: Awesome Atmosphere and Food Cons: After 9 seating is very limited more

Lunch Specials 5/10/2006

I was surprised at the lunch specials. Good food for a very good price. I've added Twin Palms to my list of lunch spots. Pros: Good Lunch Specials Cons: Crowded at dinnertime more

Consistently good food and service 4/7/2006

This is a great ""go to"" place if you want good atmosphere, good food, good drinks, and a mellow but fun crowd. The outdoor area is under a tent, but during the summer they lift the tent so you are dining under the stars. Yes, the crowd is 30-50+, but there are benefits to that (no immature people, no fights, classy, friendly people). It's a great place to have a romantic dinner, dinner with friends, or brunch with your parents. The band is good and it's fun to dance. The menu has something for everyone and parking is not much of an issue if you use the valet. Plus it's in Old Town Pasadena, so you can always have dinner and then walk to someplace more bar/club-like if you wish. It's always a great experience at Twin Palms. Pros: Drinks, Service, Crowd Cons: Parking more

Older crowd, live entertainment 8/6/2005

I went for drinks with some friends, and noticed that the people were mostly from the 30-50+ crowd. I went on a Saturday and the music from the live band was fun, but be sure you get there before 10PM since they charge a $10 cover charge. Parking is to the north in a big lot... $2 for 2.5 hours. more

Food inconsistency 6/22/2005

My first visit to Twin Palms was exceptional. I ordered the New York steak with peppercorn sauce and twice-baked potato. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had (and trust me, I've tried many for I am practically a carnivore). The only downfall was the dessert - the vanilla ice cream with a giant cookie. I assumed that the cookie would be hot out of the oven with the ice cream melting over it, similar to other restaurants. But the cookie was hard and cold. I went to Twin Palms a second time and ordered the same steak. However, it didn't taste like it did before. The sauce was mediocre and the fat was not trimmed off well. The atmosphere is quite nice and romantic nonetheless. Pros: Ambience Cons: Taste inconsistency more
