Best

I enjoy this restaurant so much! It's got a great patio eating area and the food is just great. I always enjoy my visit here. The staff is very friendly and the service has yet...

Worst

The food here is not good. The chicken is always dry. The only thing that's half way decent are the mashed potatoes. The music isn't that great, but it's pretty entertaining watch...

Amazing Brunch 3/23/2005

Looking for a grat brunch place - this is it! I had heard about this restaurant for years, but had never been & now I don't know why. I will definetly being going back! Pros: food, service, scene more

What a great place for a fun evening out! 3/13/2005

This place is great. We have been here several times, for Sunday Brunch (my personal favorite), for a catered party, and just for dinner and we always have a good time. The atmosphere is great with the open air tents. The service was wonderful and they were very attentive to our needs. Pros: Ambience, The desserts!, Great Value Cons: No valet on weekdays more

Romantic Outdoor Experience 3/7/2005

Great outdoor dinning with live music and romantic setting. I had filet mignon that was like butter! And I mean that in good way! The crab cakes for an appetizer were so-so. Service was good from and everyone was friendly from the person seating us to busboy. When I was there a celeb was there. I will respect her privacy, but just say that she is on a current popular cable TV show. I would love to go again in the summer when they open the sails to the night sky & stars. I recommend this place. - ShisKabob Pros: Outdoor Dining more

What a treat! 3/6/2005

The best filet I've had in years. The atmosphere is delightful. Giant Palm trees hover above a mass of sails which they say, are rolled back in summer to reveal the stars and moon. I took my mother there for her birthday. Their salads selection is varied but I tried the capresse with fresh mozzerella and a rich pesto. We were treated to a melting chocolate souffle for dessert. My mother had the baby back ribs which fell off of the bones. She was very impressed and my mother doesn' t impress easily. The place is huge. I'm thinking about having my graduation there in June. Pros: Great food, Service, ambience Cons: Can get a bit crowded, patio smoking more

Great Entertainment! 3/3/2005

We had a great time recently at the Mardi Gras celebration at Twin Palms. The food was authentic and so was the entertainment. We go there regularly to enjoy the complimentary live music with our meal. Pros: Convenient parking, Live Music, Great Menu Cons: Crowded on Sat, Needs faster bar serv more

So Cal at its best 3/3/2005

Not your everyday place. Good food, great atmosphere. Indoor/outdoor at the same time with live music (at least on the Thurs I was there and also Sun Brunch), did I say good food?--the scalloped potatoes are to die for. Staff is friendly and attentive. They take reservations. Have a friend who did a large party there and said it was awesome--had the whole dining room behind the bar to themselves and food came out hot and delicious. Valet parking--and close to public parking also. We walked around Old Town afterward. A must do. Pros: Moderate prices, Mixed menu, Full bar Cons: bar drinks slow, loud close to music more

Great Sunday Brunch 3/2/2005

I went to Twin Palms for my sister-in-law's baby shower last Sunday and I must say we were all impressed. The food was great and the large display of desserts and pastries were dangerously good. And, even though the restaurant was extremely busy, we received some of the best service that I have ever seen at any brunch. Coffee cups were constantly filled, dirty dishes were promptly removed and the free flowing champagne was an added bonus. There was also this really fun band that was playing that came up to our table and sang a song for my sister-in-law. It really made her feel special and I would sugggest it to anyone who wants a beautiful, fun place to meet with friends. Pros: Fun Atmosphere, Entertainment, Great service Cons: Busy, Limited Seafood more

So not worth it... 8/25/2004

I've been to this place 3 times now, each time hoping it would get better....The last and final time I went with a couple of friends for their highly advertised LUAU night. Talk about a BUST!!! The place was decorated with a couple of tacky last minute buys that consisted of cardboard signs strung up with stringy straws; those cheap lame scrunchy style leis, and a few plastic colored straw skirts that only a few servers wore. I think a 5 year old could've done a better job decorating. The entertainment consisted of 5 old men singing with a little cheep yuka-layli(sp?) going from table to table hassling the diners who were too polite to say GO AWAY! The supposed hawaiian cuisine was even worse than the usual fare. It was a poor and sorry attempt, & the final straw for this restaurant. I won't be going back ever again..... more

Good Times at any age 7/6/2004

this place draws a lot of people of different ages. It's good to just hang out with friends for drinks. I never found out the drink prices, but they were not bad at all. Pros: $2 parking nextdoor, live music, 21-50 (ages) more

Happy Hour 8/28/2002

I haven't been to Twin Palms for a while now but they used to have super reasonably priced happy hour menu. The crowd is a bit tacky but if you're hanging with friends to drink, who cares. more

eh, it's ok 7/2/2002

The food here is not good. The chicken is always dry. The only thing that's half way decent are the mashed potatoes. The music isn't that great, but it's pretty entertaining watching Baby Boomers trying to dance to hip hop. Once in a while the crowd seems to get slightly better but then it dips in property value again. If you do go, go in a group so you can entertain yourselves, because the pickins' are sure slim here. Pros: close parking Cons: food, music more

Not bad for drinks - pass on food! 6/28/2002

I used to host business dinners here. The wait staff has problems with international accents so I stopped entertaining here. The bar is fine until someone shows up with a lit cigar or cigarette. The food? Well, not too exciting. You do not leave this dining experience feeling that you ""must return."" Not even close. Taco Bell would provide you a better meal. The ambience (outside patio) is wonderful on a spring/summer evening. Your choice! more

Pasadena Nightlife? 6/28/2002

Twin Palms serves a few purposes: the food is not bad, and the atmosphere is very pretty. I don't like the fact that as the largest part of the place is outside, they allow people to smoke at the bar...There are bands there every night and on the weekend, the over 30 meant market svene kicks in. Not really typical for Pasadena, and therefore a hoot once in a while, but not a regular hang out. Pros: location, atmosphere Cons: "scene", smoking more

Best Brunch in Pasadena 5/19/2002

Excellent for Sunday brunch--sit under the canopy and enjoy a cool morning in spring or early summer. Dinner menu lacks inspiration: Better to have a few drinks at the bar and head someplace else for your meal. Service can be spotty--especially at busy times. more
