Time Square

Stay away! I agree with the comments that these people are ""watch destroyers"". My boyfriend brought in a pocket watch for a simple battery change and it was returned to us with gouges and scratches, clearly from someone trying to open it. The man became immediately offensive saying, ""I didn't do it. It was like that when I got it!"" This was definitely not true. Not only had we never seen the scratches before, but both me and my boyfriend looked at the back of the watch immediately before we dropped it off. I know this because the woman behind the counter pointed out some engraving on the back as we handed it to her. Stay away from this place! I wish we had. more

I also had a horrible experience with Time Square. When I went in to have a battery replaced and a link taken out of a watch, I quickly found the owner to be extremely rude and very unhelpful. I explained that I needed a link removed from a watch and the battery replaced. I also had a running watch that I had previously attempted to replace the battery in myself. Unfortunately, one screw had been stripped so I asked the man if he could also get the screw out so I could put my own battery in that I already bought and was holding in my hand. He became irritated that I wasn't asking him to actually change the battery for me and that he wasn't going to be able to charge me extra for the second watch. He told me that the first watch would be $10 for the link and an additional $10 for the battery. This seemed fairly steep but I was willing to pay as he was going to remove a simple screw from my other watch. When I came back to pick up the watches, I paid the outrageous $22 for the first watch. Then he handed me my other watch with the last screw removed. I asked how to take the back off and he refused to tell me, simply saying ""if you want me to change the battery I will"". All the owner wanted was to charge me another $10 when I already paid him $22! Again, I already had the battery and it would take 5 second to put it in. The owner refused to help and ultimately told me that he didn't want me in his shop. Just be forewarned the customer service is terrible here! more

I just had a watch resized with Time Square and found their service to be excellent. I'm writing this review because I almost didn't go to them due to the other negative reviews on this site. Their price was more than competitive (half that of Barmakian or the other watch stores at the mall) and I found them to be very friendly. They completed the service in a few minutes and I walked out with a perfectly-sized watch. I closely inspected it for scratches or blemishes and it still looks brand new. more

This review is for the ""Time Square"" watch sales and repair store We went into the Time Square watch store to have watch batteries replaced on two expensive watches of which they do stock and sell. After we expressed out concern that no damage would occur to the watches we were assured by the watch repair person that there would be no damage. Another employee stated that she was a professional and for us not to worry. After a few minutes we heard banging from where the watches were being worked on but we didn't say anything because we had been assured she was a ""professional"". When she called us back to the register she placed both watches back side down and stated that she wasn't able to open one of the watches and that we could leave it with her and she would be able to do it with more time. After I picked up the watch that she wasn't able to open I discovered that one side and two corners of the back of the watch were severely gouged and the only way I could describe it was that it appeared ""chiseled"". When I brought this to her attention she stated that she could repair it if we left it with her. I check the other watch and found that it had also seemed to be chiseled open and left gouges on the back. At no point did she apologize for damaging the watches. Another employee approached us and informed us that ""that can happen"" when replacing batteries. When we tried to tell him that we were assured prior to the work being done that wouldn't happen he interrupted us and became rude to the point of yelling in our faces. Since they damaged them in the first attempt it wasn't an option to trust them with anything further. Especially with the attitude we had gotten at that point. They even made us pay the charge for replacing one of the batteries!! Be forwarned and STAY AWAY from this place!! more

I went to Time Square in Natick Collection to replace a battery for my quartz watch. I asked the counter person which is also the manager of the store whether they can do the work and he said yes. I dropped off the watch for an hour and when I picked it up the back of the watch and the buttons were scratched from them attempting to take the cover off. They apologized, gave me a $5 discount, claimed they would polish the scratches off at no charge and it would not fade the orignal coating. The polish took off the coating and did not get rid of the scratches. Cons: Bad workmanship, worse customer service, no experience more
