I should've been smart following my first visit. Both my husband and I were given treatment plans which involved drilling out every amalgam filling and replacing them with new fillings. Neither one of us had any issues with our existing fillings. I had one filling. Following her treatment, I ended up in severe pain and the final result was a root canal and cap. My husband also ended up with a cap. It got worse from there. On one visit, I was told I had 8 'micro' cavities and deep grooves, but those could be taken care of easily without novacain. I stupidly went for the treatment and now am so upset because I found that it was way worse to drill into 8 teeth instead of taking a wait and see approach. There's a pretty good chance I would have never developed 8 cavities, but now I have 8 compromised teeth. My next cleaning I was told I had 4 cavities and that's when I ran so fast out of that place and never returned. My husband had been tagged as having gum disease and they insist on cleanings every 3 months, which is not covered by insurance. Furthermore, his cleanings cost more than mine and they did the exact same thing. If you want a dentist that takes a very proactive approach and drills and fills for every little thing that may or may not be an issue, this is the dentist for you. If you would rather not have every tooth in your mouth having some kind of preventative filling, stay away. I have switched dentists and am very happy. I'm only sorry I didn't leave sooner before all of the fillings that woman insisted giving me. more

Make sure to get a second opinion if this is your first opinion.. 6/19/2012

I've had the same situation as the previous Guest's comments, except that I had Invisalign treatment done with Dr. Goodman. Thru out my whole invisalign treatment (up to date, seven months total), there was a lack of communication. When I pay for each visit, I don't expect for the expert (Dr. Goodman or the person designated to take over Invisalign cases) to take a whole hour to deliver my trays, but I do expect them to check on my progress and make sure that my buttons (attachments) are still intact.. Not once did this office did even just that. Every time that I had to reschedule appts b/c of last minute changes, I would call and the next appt would be 2+ weeks out b/c of their limited hours of operations. In my honest opinion, this office is very nice until I paid my dues for Invisalign... That was when everything went downhill. No one returned my phone calls, messages and email. I did go to another dentist to get the rest of my fillings done and compared prices, and Dr. Goodman was charging twice as much as my new dentist. As far as braces goes, with Invisalign and Clear Braces (if I get them to correct Dr. Goodman's mistakes), it would cost me about $6,000. Also, make sure you, as well as, the office are on the same page about payment plans. Sara initially said that they would work with me on payment plans, but just fill out an app for CareCredit just in case (which I thought was weird), so when I had my impressions done, my total was roughly about $4,000+ (Invisalign and fillings) and I didn't want to argue so I paid and went on about my business. Then, that was when my opinion and experiences changed with this office. There was once where I showed up for my appt, w/o my knowledge, to "talk," she didn't even have an exam room for me to deliver my trays and check my buttons. So that was a waste of my time from work. If her office can charge for not showing up for appts, I should ask for a refund on at least one appt that I had to take time off of work for. I was just fed up and not wanna deal with them. more

NOT the best! 5/31/2012

I was referred to her and was new to the area. My first visit, I thought everything was fine and trusted them. Angie went over my concerns and they spent a good while explaining everything and making sure I understood. However, they told me they needed to do a culture for bacteria, I had a few cavitities and I needed a deep cleaning for gingivits. So I came back for my cleaning. I guess I was not informed very well what a deep cleaning was. I should have known something was up when they kept offering me numbing products just for a cleaning. Of course this costs more money along with the culture, which by the way came back negative. After the deep cleaning experience which was horrible by the way (listening to a drilling noise for an hour and in pain for a good time afterwards) I decided to get a second opinion. They second opinion told me I might have one cavity, but did not need the deep cleaning and did not have any sort of bacteria or gum disease. Dr. Goodman wanted to drill all of my teeth since I had "deep grooves in my teeth" she did give me the option though so it was not something that they said was required. Although, they wanted to do another deep cleaning 2 weeks after the first one. I would probably not recommend this dentist as I felt like they were just trying to sell me things in order to make money (Ex: teeth whitening, water flosser, toothbrush etc)!! Maybe filling all of your teeth and have deep cleanings is normal, but I had never had a cavity a day in my life. Yes, I knew I probably had gingivits, but not to the point where it needed to be deep cleaned twice! If you do go to this dentist I would recommend getting a second opinion. Maybe what she is doing is correct as it is preventive measures, but it costs a lot of money and hurts! Who wants to go through pain just to prevent cavities, gum disease etc. when you have had perfectly normal teeth all of your life and never had any problems? Maybe I just had a bad experience, but just be careful!! more

New Patient Review 1/31/2012

I had been going to an ‘old school’ male dentist for 20 years. He still had shag carpeting in his waiting room so that should tell you how much money he put into current dental equipment. When he retired someone else took over his office so I figured it was a good time to look around for another dentist. I was pleasantly surprised when I had my first appointment at The Lewisville Dentist. Instead of a typical front office staff asking “Do you have an appointment?” and “I need to see your insurance card”, I was greeted with “Hello Mr. S, welcome to our office. Please have a seat and we will be with you shortly.” How did they know my name? I already liked this place. Within a few minutes I was escorted to the last procedure room on the left, so I got good look at the inside office. All the equipment seems to be state-of-the-art. I was really impressed with their X-ray machine – it displayed my X-rays on the TV attached to the dental chair. Definitely not ‘old school’. I then met Dr. Goodman who reviewed their findings and analysis. Each of my three issues were discussed with only one issue being a priority right then. Multiple options for each issue were reviewed with the advantages, disadvantages, and pricing. There was no pressure selling – only what I felt was an honest concern for my well being. By the way, Dr. Goodman’s professionalism and chair-side manner is amazing. I now feel I have the assurance of a caring and intelligent physician. I highly recommend this friendly staff to my family members, even it means they have to drive longer to get here than their current dentist – it is definitely worth it. Sorry this review is so long. more
