I should've been smart following my first visit. Both my husband and I were given treatment plans which involved drilling out every amalgam filling and replacing them with new fillings. Neither one of us had any issues with our existing fillings. I had one filling. Following her treatment, I ended up in severe pain and the final result was a root canal and cap. My husband also ended up with a cap. It got worse from there. On one visit, I was told I had 8 'micro' cavities and deep grooves, but those could be taken care of easily without novacain. I stupidly went for the treatment and now am so upset because I found that it was way worse to drill into 8 teeth instead of taking a wait and see approach. There's a pretty good chance I would have never developed 8 cavities, but now I have 8 compromised teeth. My next cleaning I was told I had 4 cavities and that's when I ran so fast out of that place and never returned. My husband had been tagged as having gum disease and they insist on cleanings every 3 months, which is not covered by insurance. Furthermore, his cleanings cost more than mine and they did the exact same thing. If you want a dentist that takes a very proactive approach and drills and fills for every little thing that may or may not be an issue, this is the dentist for you. If you would rather not have every tooth in your mouth having some kind of preventative filling, stay away. I have switched dentists and am very happy. I'm only sorry I didn't leave sooner before all of the fillings that woman insisted giving me.
