Best

Tango Sur is a great restaurant that really gives you a great value along with a wonderful dining experience. The steak there is amazing with all that flavor. Their mashed potato...

Worst

The food was excellent and the place had great potential. Very cute inside, but it was the worst service I've ever experienced. We were rushed through a three course meal in 30 ...

Tango Sur is Fabulous! 7/5/2005

Service was average. Cant say it was horrible, by reading other reviews posted I can say that the service has improved, cuz my experience was nothing like theirs. Waitstaff was'nt the friendliest but didnt care cuz the food made up for their lack of smiles & giggles. I ordered Bife Vesuvio & it was to die for! My husband ordered Bife Filet & it was fabulous. This restaraunt is mainly beef dishes, cuz that's what they do best. It's BYOB, nice cuz its cheaper & you can bring what you want. Prices are reasonable, & did i mention the food was absolutely fabulous! The beef is so tender and the sauces are so flavorful, it's mouthwatering! If you're a steak lover, this place is definitly for you! Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent Food, Romantic Cons: Parking, Crowded more

Great steaks. Fun, loud atmosphere. 4/3/2004

If you like great, marinated steaks than Tango Sur is for you. The wait time can be ridiculous on weekends, especially in the winter when there are no outdoor seats, so be prepared. BYOB, so don't forget to bring your own wine or beer. Order the Churrasco, its unbeatable. Pros: Steaks, Argentine Buzz, BYOB Cons: , Very, very noisy more

I'd go back... 6/9/2003

Great food. Weekends are PACKED! Definitely make reservations. It is BYOL, but the Jewel down street has plenty of it. Street parking is VERY difficult so don't even bother looking for it. We went on a HOT summer day and despite the no A/C and the long wait, it was worth it for the food. Pros: Not too loud, Outdoor seating, reservations accepted Cons: can get very crowded, difficult parking more

I like it. 1/3/2003

Good food! Good Atmosphere! What else do you need? Don't worry about the wait either, they'll call you on your cell phone when your tables ready so you can head down the street to one of the bars or go select some wine at the Dominick's. more

EXCELLENT 1/2/2003

Be sure to make reservations, or be prepared to wait. The place is packed because its that good. Its pretty dark inside and the tables are close together, but the food is excellent and a great value. Highly recommended! more

CHEWY 12/31/2002

The food was gross. The beef was like eating string. more

Surs Up Dudes 12/15/2002

The meal was very good. However we could barely read the menu due to poor lighting. We also needed items on the menu explained to us. We and others always asked ""What is flap meat?"" They could put it in terms we'd understand like: skirt steak, NY stip, etc. Pros: Good Food Cons: No liquor license, poor lighting, poor seating room more

Que lastima! 12/12/2002

jherrera's review is right on the money. We dined at Tango Sur on Dec 11 2002 and were surprised to have to ""beg"" to have our order taken. The waiter volunteered very little information and had no sense of humor. The room was very dark and we had to use a small pocket light to read the menu (other diners were doing same). Our Open Table on-line reservation was honored, but I think it was only good luck. None of the staff had the password to log on to their reservations computer. The food was very flavorful - we tried the empanadas - they were great. The vacio (pot roast) was outstanding. Deserts were also to die for: fantastic flan, and an Argentinian cake called mil hojas (a thousand leaves). If only the service were more professional. The prices are quite reasonable - a great value. Pros: value, flavor, authenticity Cons: poor service, room is too dark, computer "issues" more

Service was awful 12/9/2002

I was very disappointed with the service that I received last night at Tango Sur. The food was good. However, the service was the poorest that I have ever received while dining out. I repeatedly waited long periods of time to order and to receive my check. I was required to go back to the kitchen to request to have my order taken and again to receive my check. Please be aware that the food is very good and the service is exceptionally poor. This place would be a perfect package if the service would only improve dramaticly. more

meat, meat and more meat 11/18/2002

I love it . You have to like meat thou. Very tastey and they serve meat w/ little grills to warm your meat up on. Pros: cheap, great for a date Cons: usual very crowded more

Two Paws Up! 10/14/2002

The food is delicious. The atmosphere is quaint and romantic. It is a great place to go on a date or out to dinner with a friend. There is a grocery store around the corner, so you can procure yourself a bottle of wine to bring over. Excellent. Pros: Rocks, r0xs, RAWKS more

Romantic Atmosphere - Great Food 8/28/2002

This place is one of my favorite restaurant to have a great meal - make sure you are hungry because their portions are big. The atmosphere and food speaks to the traditional originality of Argentina. If you are going on a Friday or Saturday night be ready to wait - they don't take reservations and the place is always packed. They provide a heater outside and they will also open your botle of wine while you wait. Pros: best meat, best bread, good food presentatio Cons: small dining, u smell like food, don't take reservatio more

Great Place for Up-And-Comers 8/23/2002

Best place in the city to see a show. Large venues are a waste of time. more

Romantic Flames 8/13/2002

This is a quaint restaurant and a great Argentine experience. Try the parilla... you'll want to go back for more. Pros: Delicious Meat, Intimate, You'll go back! Cons: Small..., No reservations, Busy! more

Tango makes you tingle!!! 8/9/2002

Tango Sur has never failed to provide excellent service, a great quaint candle-lit atmosphere, both indoor and outdoor seating , exquisite fresh food and live music. The wait staff is really nice (maybe because our dining friend is argentinian!) At our last visit we were given invitations to their new opening of ""N"" which is a club that also serves light tapas! Can't wait to try that out too! Pros: live guitar player, real ethnic food, romantic Cons: rather small more

Amazing stuffed steaks 7/1/2002

If you go here save room for a great dinner. The steak for two was huge and incredibly delicious. But bring your own alcohol!! more
