Good pizza, great effort to accommodate families 3/16/2012

Tutta Bella is a pretty rare beast. It's got the atmosphere of a family-oriented red checkered tablecloth style Italian restaurant, but aspires to serve more traditional Italian pizza and salads. While I wouldn't put their pizza in the same ballpark as some of the really good Neapolitan style pizza places in the city, it's still way better than the doughy cheesy mess you get at most family friendly places. The salads are great too, and desserts are above average. The hoards of families and children there speak well to the place's kid friendliness. more

Kid Friendly and Great Pizza 11/17/2011

Sauce, Crust, and Cheese on their Pizza's are authentic Italian. They have some great flavors. Also like their salads which are family portions. more

You have got to be kidding... 6/23/2009

I'm not sure what I am more disappointed in...the poor quality of wet soggy pizza being pawned off as authentic Neapolitan pizza or the reviewers who are handing out 5 star reviews. A new Tutta Bella's just opened up in Issaquah. We went there for pizza. What did we get? A wet soggy mess with little to no flavor. The middle of the pizza was swimming in liquid and the crust was limp and wet. This is NOT Neapolitan pizza. The amount of ingredients was sub-par. Yes, Neo-style does not use a pile of items on the pizza but Tutta's was ridiculous. I was embarrassed for the waiter as soon as the pizza was delivered to the table. The pizza was a poor at best. Hey, I'm all for a wood-fire oven but if the cooks don't understand how to control fire and ingredients it would be a better idea to go back to a regular oven. Again, not authentic in the least. Good news...the salad was great. more

Best in the west 5/18/2009

This is the best in the west, Seattle is very lucky a home town man thought of this place Thanks Joe. more

Wildly Overrated 9/11/2007

Greetings Americans - this is NOT, I repeat NOT Neapolitan pizza. It is bland, uninteresting americanized pizza. Just because it is cooked in a big clay oven with a name in tile over the door does not mean it is authentic. The best pizza in Seattle in a Neapolitan style is Fondi. Please don't take my word for it. Just try it. more

to die for nutella espresso! 6/4/2007

this is a really cute place to have lunch or dinner with. the service is always friendly and not to mention, the pizzas are really good! the nutella gelato and espresso are the things that keep me coming back =P yum! more

The best espresso on Rainier Avenue. 6/4/2007

I'm suprised no one has said anything about their espresso! Everyone knows already about the pizza. Sure the pizza is tremendous, but the espresso is equally amazing! I reccomend the iced freddo. They usually have a good barista on hand, but I've only had one espresso drink that was only 'okay'. There are about four other places in Columbia City that serve espresso drinks, but Tutta Bella serves the best by far. It maybe the best coffee in South Seattle. I say 'maybe' because Galaxie on Beacon Hill also serves a fine cup Cafe Victrola and Remo's has pretty darn good drip coffee. more

Good but painfully loud.. 5/29/2007

For the 45th and Stone Way location in Wallingmont... I enjoy the food and the service has always been adequate, even on a very busy night. I have tried multiple pizza combinations and compared to it counterpart a few blocks away, a much better meal. I just cant get over the noise and crowds. It is paralyzing, especially while straining to hear your dinner guest/s sitting three feet away. I think the atmosphere feels more like a shopping mall food court then a good neighborhood eatery. Unfortunately the food isn't enough to override the headaches. more

A Rape of The Cuisine 5/16/2007

This pizza is terrible. I went to the Stone Way restaurant. The pizza arrived within a minute or two of ordering. It was insipid, limp and actually tasteless. I was amazed that the pizza lacked everything I was expecting. The crust dissolved before my eyes. Because it was so undercooked, the crust was being dissolved by the tomato sauce. Moreover, the crust had no character, no taste, nothing. I ordered a topping of proscuitto, expecting a salty, assertive flaver. But it had no flavor. It was a disaster. more

Tutta Bella - accept no substitutes 3/27/2007

We dine at TB every week. It is amazing! Truly authentic and the TBers are passionate about what they do. Now, the Columbia City location does morning coffees and authentic croissants! Just a perfect way to start the weekeday or enjoy weekend am paper. Filomena's House Made TiraMisu is to die for - we served it at our wedding and the guests raved and raved. The dining is the closest thing to Naples in Seattle. more

NOT fantastico 2/6/2007

I went there (wallingford) with my husband a while ago and was not impressed. For such a big place it seemed they took no care in the interior design. I felt like I was in a school cafeteria, complete with the screaming children running around. I wished they had put up some drapery or curtains to absorb some of the sound and make it feel more cozy. As for the food, my husband is Italian, and was not completely enamored with the food. You can get a better, more authentic pizza at Zagi's in ballard, and it is cheaper. I don't think I will go back to Tutta Bella, that is until I have 5 screaming children to tote along with me. Definitely do not go there if you are looking for a romantic spot. But, it is a family friendly place if that's what you require. more

Fantastic 1/1/2007

Outstanding Pizza!! It is authentic and certified Neapolitan pizza. Imaginative combinations for every taste. And they will leave off an item if you ask. The salads are good, too. And save room for dessert, as the desserts are fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they make great recommendations. A great addition to Columbia City, and we finally have great Pizza in Seattle. Thanks Tutta Bella! more

Tutta...Obsession Gone Wrong 11/22/2006

I'll admit it. When Tutta Bella first opened I probably ate there twice a week on average. I'll admit it, I loved their food. But something changed for me. Maybe it was when their exceptionally reasonable prices went up; or when their wait for a table rose to half an hour on a weekday night; or maybe I just didn't find their food interesting anymore. In any case, I still find their pizzas and salads adequate. I wouldn't say no to a free dinner there. But there are other, more unique and delicious places to go. And their service is alternately fantastic or terrible. more

Felt Like I Was in Napoli! 11/21/2006

Finally had a chance to visit the Fremont/Wallingford location & enjoyed the Regina Margherita. If I closed my eyes (& drowned out the English speakers in the restaurant), I would have thought I was in Napoli. more

Love Tutta Bella in Columbia City - I give it 4-1/2 stars 9/28/2006

Tutta bella has the three things that I am looking for in a restaurant - its cheap, the food is good and the servers are friendly! My favorite thing is to split an order of the insalata di Napoli ( the small size, believe it or not- its huge!) and one of their thin crust pizzas with a friend- its the perfect meal. But don't get there late on a weekend - which would be after 6 PM, cause usually the place is packed with locals from the surrounding neighborhood. Anthony Ferrara, the owner is a very friendly guy - he tells me plans are in the works for opening a tutta bella on the eastside so its just a matter of time, eastsiders, before you too can have a little slice of pizza heaven..... more

Excellent Pizzaria 8/31/2006

I first visited Tutta Bella on a recommendation by a Seattle friend. I found a clean and family friendly place with a casual atmosphere - I swear they had enough booster seats for half the restaurant. The pizza crust is light and crisp, the Tiramisu some of the best I've ever tasted and they even give you a seltzer chaser with your espresso. How much better can it get? These days, my out of town friends insist on dining there whenever they come in. I would rate it 9 out of 10 or 4.5 out of 5. The only minus being the uncomfortable chairs and the tables being a little small for a crowd. That being said, I'll tolerate a little discomfort for the great food. more
