TUTTA BELLA NEAPOLITAN PIZZA

The pizza is exactly what I remember from my youth - the real deal. Add to that the only tiramisu that tastes just like the homemade original, a great open restaurant design, really friendly and upbeat staff and - I swear I don't know how they do it - an atmosphere just like back in Italy: busy, very friendly, with people enjoying life. Thank you. Thank you very, very much. The only restaurant in the states that I've ever known to just have fresh samples for waiting customers. If there was a Nobel Prize for food, they'd richly deserve it. more

This is a great place - the ambience is welcoming but well designed, the food is tasty and the prices are good. We ordered the house salad, which was surprisingly good and the Campania and Quattro Stagioni pizzas. The pizzas here are thin crust and not too cheesy, which is the I like them personally. The chicken apple sausage in the Campania was excellent. A good place to meet up with a group of friends or to have an impromptu dinner. Probably not where you'd take a date if you're still trying to impress them though :) more

Who knew that pizza crust could melt in your mouth? We went to Tutta Bella's Greenlake location after being driven North by an over-run Fremont area. We started by sharing the enormous Insalata di Napoli (you know, to keep it close to the whole Naples theme - and I have a weakness for salame). It was delicious and dressed with the perfect amount of oil and vinegar - no smothering of the fresh ingredients. We tried two different wines by the glass, the Zenato Valpolicella and the Montesole Aglianico. According to the order in which the server said she brought them, we decided we liked the Zenato better. When we ordered another round, however, it was clear that the wines were mis-identified at the start. Also, there was a ring of residue (detergent? crystals from the wine (doubtful)) in the bottom of my hubby's glass, and the server did nothing but shrug and take the glass away. what the?!? Next time I'll ask that they bring the bottles so I know what I'm drinking and can take notes to better learn about Italian wines. About 20 min later, the Campania pizza arrived. the dough was blackened and blistered, but there was no charry flavor to it at all, and the dough dupporting the toppings literally melted away on my tongue. How do they do that?! more

The pizza at Tutta Bella was definitely good, but i think i prefer Via Tribunalis. I like the sauce and the ingredients seem a little bit fresher or better. However, Tutta Bella is less fancy and a less expensive and has an awesome Tiramisu - plus you get free coffee or espresso with dessert. I also think the staff is friendlier at Tutta Bella than VT. more

The Judy's Book review of Tutta Bella in Wallingford that said it was "Via Tribunali without the wait or the attitude" was spot on. Only I might add, "along with many families and kids". I was surprised to find such a large, open kid-friendly restaurant in the middle of the city. I haven't seen a lot of these (or maybe they just aren't on my radar since I don't have children). In any event, Tutta Bella is a great spot for those with or without families. They don't take reservations but you can call ahead to get your name on a list. However the wait wasn't long--20 minutes for a party of 8 on a Friday night at prime time. Service was fast--almost too fast. 5 minutes at most for the salads and pizzas we ordered. They were delicious so we didn't mind but next time I'd space things out and order when we were hungry and not before. Our favoite pizzas were the lasagna and the special prosciutto and asparagus. more

If you've ever been to Naples, you know what true pizza tastes like. Tutta Bella takes me back to Naples. Now I'm thrilled to be able to get their pizza north of the ship canal. The Wallingford location is fun, inviting, and serves the best true pizza in town. I love the decor of this location and the option of a semi-private party room. And, to top it off, the absolute best cappuccino in town. I don't know about the other reviewers, but this one is totally sold of the authentic taste of pizzas fresh out of a wood-fired oven, just like in Naples. more

What a fun and family-friendly pizza place. This pizza is different-a fun change from our regular Pagliacci (which I do love!) and all the hub-bub makes for great entertainment for the kids. Yummy salads, and the pizzas seem fresh and even somewhat healthy. PLenty of food and reasonable prices. Take a date (if you don't mind kids running around!) or if you are past the dating scene and have some wee ones, for sure, take the family! more

Tutta Bella pizza has something I am sure many pizzeria's crave-authentication from Naples. Yes, this pizzeria is the best place to come for thin crust Neapolitan pizza. Like many good restaurants in the Pacific Northwest, Tutta Bella uses very fresh ingredients. Each pizza costs around ten dollars and there are vegetarian options. The pizzas are smaller than the average American style pizza so if you are ordering for a group add one extra pizza to your order. Coffee, dessert, and a long wine list are available. This establishment is located in Wallingford and Rainier Valley. more

I first discovered Tutta Bella in Columbia City. Pretty good find. Then, I found one closer to home off of Stone Way and thought I'd give it a shot. We'll, it was okay. Our waitress was very nice, but the server was a young teenager who acted very young. Not rude, he just didn't know or care to practice social serving niceties, like not plopping the pizza at the edge of the table. The salads were great. Alex and I ordered one small one apiece, and they could have made the entire meal. The pizza was again, okay. Good flavor, but rather soggy. It could have used just a few more minutes in the oven. In their defense, it may have been an off day. The place had a good amount of customers. Another plus is they have their own parking lot, so you don't need to drive around searching for a spot. more

I love everything about Tutta Bella. They have a great environmental plan. They buy good ingredients. They make a good product. They really are a good company. If you want to buy a good product and support an ethical company, get your Neapolitan pizza here. They have a terrific Tiramisu. more

I love the pizzas here! The crust is thin and the taste is light and flavorful. They also have great salad as well. My favorite is the Napolean salad, it has salami, lettuce, and garbanzo beans. more

It seems clear that Wallingford is the test location for taking Tutta Bella into the chain restaurant business. A sad mistake. I have been there three times and only the first time had good service. I'd previously eaten at the Columbia City location, so was doubly saddened by this turn of events. The crazy part is, if you look around even at peak dining hours, it looks ridiculously overstaffed. The wait staff and bussers roam in groups of four or five, but they are too inexperienced and poorly trained to do what they're there for. On my second visit our waiter forgot to put our order in to the kitchen, and apparently forgot we were there, because it never occurred to her to check to see why we didn't have food when all the later arrivals around us did. It took forever to get her attention - a problem on our subsequent visit, too - to point out that we had no food yet. Then because she was going off her shift, she wanted to list all 13 of the gelato flavors and get our dessert order when we were on our first bites of pizza. I realize that it's a casual place, but there is no excuse for such unfamiliarity with the flow of a meal. There were no comment cards in the restaurant, so as much as I'd have loved to whisper in their ear, I'm telling the world instead of the owners. more

I'm taking about that wonderful, neopolitan pizzeria called Tutta Bella. Now located in Wallingford, their second restaurant, its much easier for us to go. This one is larger than the restaurant in Columbia City, and it is beautiful. My personal favorite is the prochiutto with fresh arugula piled in the center. The pizzas are individual-sized, and thin crusted -- as they should be! There are several delicious salads, which are very large and to share. more

(the new Stone Way location) Took my parents to Tutta Bella's new Wallingrford location after having enjoyed the Columbia City one several times. We went later at night, after 9pm, and asked for a "quiet seat" as my father is hard of hearing. They put us in the back, but it was still pretty noisy. Too many hard surfaces and nothing to absorb the sound bouncing around. The salads are great, nice and big portions, and the pizzas are the Naples style, sparse but quality ingredients and emphasis on the sauce. I like nearly all the ones I've tried, but my folks weren't thrilled (not enough cheese, they said). I think it's a generation gap thing ;-). We all liked the gelato, though. more

The pizza here was great and it was fun to see the chefs cooking up all the pizza's in the big wood-fired oven. The authentic-style pizzas are not overly cheesy and have a great thin crust and simple toppings. The atmosphere is casual and the dining room is huge, so even though it was fairly crowded when we were there, there were plenty of open tables still. We ordered two small salads (which were huge by the way!!) and the flatbread to start with. The flatbread was delicious and the salads (ceasar and the one with tomatoes and cheese) were good. I was annoyed that they charged extra for anchovies on the ceasar salad because I think that should be included as a default - and the salad croutons weren't great. The pizza arrived quickly! We each ordered our own, since they are small and we wanted to take home leftovers, but we definitely overestimated and got too much food in the end. You can also order beer (Moretti by the pitcher!) and they had a nice wine list. They serve gelato and tiramisu for dessert, and seem to be as particular about their espresso as they are about their pizza. Overall it was a great meal and I'll definitely go back. more

I've heard a lot of hype about Tutta Bella, and I fully expected to be disappointed with the pizza. The converse was true. We tried a number of Tutta Bella pizzas, and all were excellent. The ingredients were clearly fresh and tastes were well-balanced. Tutta Bella is very large inside, and seems to always be full. The interior is spacious and noisy and is a great place to go with a group of people. They don't take reservations, but do allow you to call ahead. I was also incredibly suprised at how affordable the restaurant was. Our group of 6 walked out with a check around $100. more

Seven of us just went to the newly opened location in Wallingford. The food was great, just like at the original restaurant on Rainer Ave, but the service at the new location was below any acceptable standards. Every server whom we had contact with, seemed overextended, disinterested,and definitely not knowledgeable about the products at all. Our server did not know that Chardonnay is a white wine. Not to mention that we felt like we were "processed" like in a theme restaurant from the moment we walked in the door. This was quite a disappointment . more

Tutta Bella is by far the best pizza experience in Seattle. As an Italian that worked in a pizzeria for years I can say that this is the closest to an Italian experience. The place is great and everyone is very friendly. Most importantly the pizza is good and the service is actually very fast, even if the place is always packed. As pizza goes I have to say that Via Tribunali has the best one (although a few friends told me that lately was not as good). But, Tutta Bella has the best experience. Highly Reccomended. more

This place is as big as the Texas Cheesecake Depository. It was super crowded when we went, and we had a choice of sitting by a table of squabbling kids, or in front of another table of squabbling kids. Our waitress was just as frazzled as we were, and it seemed to take forever to get our pizza. But when it finally arrived, all complaints were forgotten. Thin crust, fresh toppings - bliss. Soon the tables behind us cleared, and our waitress was far more congenial. She made excellent gelato suggestions, and that with the espresso made a marvelous dessert. I'd advise anyone to go after 8pm, though. more
