Starving Students Movers

Terrible experience!\r Avoid them at all cost.\r They did not even show up after 4 hours of telling me they were on the way.\r Then the crew called me directly and said they could do the move on the side for money if I provided a truck.\r Never even got a call explaining or apologizing.\r I ended up renting a truck and moving my self. more

I used Starving Students for the second time in December 2012 and it was by far the worst move of my life. To move my one bedroom apartment 1 mile down the road it cost over $600, the movers complained the whole time, one of them faked an injury, two of the movers ignored me when I asked them questions, they repeatedly dropped my new, white mattress on the pavement and in the dirt so now there are permanent black stains on it. They ripped my couch, did not provide me with ANY wardrobe boxes, as I had been told they would I booked the appointment, which resulted in me having to move my clothing on my own at a later date. I asked the movers to dispose of a couch behind my building in the dumpsters and instead they moved it into my neighbor's lawn, for which I had to pay a removal fee. One of the movers reminded me several times that they accept tips. These movers did not feel like moving several of my pieces of furniture and offered to put heavy items such as my tv in my car for me so I could finish moving. I ended up spending several days moving additional material out of my old apartment and into my new apartment after this horrible, wretched and pointless waste of money. more

The folks who moved us were very kind. They did a thorough job. I was disturbed that it took 3 of their movers plus several of our friends to complete the job in as much time as it did. Had we not provided extra help, the job would have cost most more double the original quote. Definitely expect your cost to be several hundred dollars more than you are quoted. more

Made the whole moving process very easy from coordinating the move date to obtaining a bid to the actual move. The movers were on time and handled the move perfectly. They were quick and careful with all of the items. I will definitley call Starving Students for my next move. more

the two boys who moved my furniture worked really, really hard. i'm not going to complain because i feel that my complaints were actually my own fault. i didn't realize how much furniture and stuff i had - plus, they moved everything upstairs, in the pouring rain. i should have suggested three or more movers instead of just two. those poor kids worked incredibly hard. i would say that next time i'll ask for three or four helpers, except that i'm never moving again. more
