Best

I went into this friendly little bar a few months ago on my birthday. I had such a good time with Dave I just couldn't stay away. Since then I've gotten to know everyone. Dermot, ...

Worst

i thought the vibe was fun, but way too crowded everytime i have been. i thought it might thin out, but it's always a scene. better bars in the area with less crowds.

aldo's a hunk... 9/15/2002

the wood tables and stools in spring lounge make for a relaxing and fun night with friends- no velvet rope, no $10 drinks, no obnoxious doorman. weekends get a little crowded, weekdays are even better, music is always great (if not, it's a juke box, go change it), and the drinks are just right. there's nothing more reliable in nyc than spring lounge. more

Over-rated and over-crowded 9/3/2002

Early on a WEEKDAY evening, my friend and I were standing next to each other just inside the door, yet I had to scream in order for her to hear me. If you want a good conversation spot, this ain't it. The guys are desperate, ugly, not particularly interesting. I feel sorry for Nolita residents who have to deal w/ the drunk, loud, obnoxious yuppies spilling out of the place... Pros: good drink prices, friendly staff Cons: lame crowd more

Perfectly Rowdy 8/22/2002

There's a jukebox, there are firemen, there's beer: that is all a girl needs to get a little bit rowdy. I've seen spontaneous flamenco dancing, riotous flirting, and more than one smooch in the corner. The crowd runs the gamut from Nolita hipsters to frat boys, and forget about going home with one of the bankers - you'll probably take home two. more

People are Strange 8/9/2002

Fun late night place where there's always a crowd, but sometimes there's a meat-market desperation vibe going on with some of the men in there. The bartenders are quick and friendly, but having to endure the hair-flipping, Aldo-worshipping coquettes surrounding the bar begging quietly for attention from him provides a definite and irritating obstacle to getting a beer even in spite of Aldo's efficiency. Pros: Great service, Good beer selection, Inexpensive drinks Cons: Sometimes too crowded, Only 1 restroom, Pervy guys more

Abundant Spring 8/8/2002

Blossoming from the old empty dive it once was, the Spring Lounge has bloomed into a friendly, lively downtown pub! A seat at the bar, if you can get one, is one of the great vantage points to have upon the world. The best bartenders in the city -- who know how to build a pint of Guinness ... an excellent jukebox ... a fun crowd .... great views on both sides of the large windows ... in the shadow of Old St. Patrick's ... steps from the restaurants of Little Italy and blocks from those in Chinatown ... The sharks of reality may circle but they never get any closer! more

Where's Aldo?? 8/7/2002

This is the kind of bar you just stumble on in SOHO. It has a comfortable neighborhood feel, with a friendly crowd of patrons, good music and the best bartender I've ever had! Aldo commands the bar, has names and drinks of all of his patrons memorized and is quick to keep you happy! I've always had a great experience here, and even now drive over two hours just to visit from time to time! Aldo deserves best bartender of NYC! Pros: quick service, great bartender, nice crowd Cons: small dark bathroom, not alot of bar space more

Gr8 D8 8/7/2002

I went to Spring Lounge for the first time on a date, and it was a great place to relax, hang out and get to know someone. Not to mention the drinks are cheap and the crowd is so fun! Pros: Inexpensive, Good JukeBox Cons: No Mirror in Bathroom more

jwr 8/6/2002

A Barfly's Amusement Park! 8/6/2002

Any day of the week at the Spring Lounge is a good time. The crowd is freindly and the bartenders are awesome. Make sure to ask for the bartender Aldo, he is always entertaining!!! Pros: Great bartenders, Good music Cons: Crowded, Bathrooms dirty more

the best bartenders in nyc 8/6/2002

every night at spring lounge is a good night because the bartenders are the best! during the week there's a loyal regular crowd and on the weekends spring lounge can get packed. it's a very fun time. Pros: great bartenders, inexpensive, good crowd Cons: crowded on weekends more

Hot bartenders 8/6/2002

Fun crowd! Not ""trendy,"" but popular. Good-looking bartenders too. Aldo, of course, is the hottest...Ladies, enjoy! Pros: good value, great jukebox, laid-back; not trendy Cons: crowded more

AKA The Bar with the Shark 7/24/2002

After work is great, here. But it's tough to beat a Saturday afternoon - which becomes a people watching extravaganza. This is the best hangout in the city. Pros: Inexpensive, Jukebox, No attitude Cons: Bathroom more

ALDO ALDO ALDO 6/30/2002

Fell in love with a bartender named aldo last night. SUch an intalian stallion, looks just like Tom Cruise and hates profanity women, so be careful. He makes a mean shot and really knows how to handle 6 beatuiful women out on the town for a bachelorette party. LOVE HIM, Love the bar too. more

Bartender is HOT! 6/25/2002

What can I say? Aldo is hot. Great bar, lots of fun, especially for after work on a Friday. The door guys could try and be a little nicer but other than that, it's a great place to hang and have a beer. Note: It does get crowded! more
