I decided to use Southport Heating, Plumbing, & Geothermal because a person I had used from another heating company had gone to them when they started and became part of the ownership group. I had been very happy with his service, so I was happy to follow him. The first issue I had was that my furnace wasn't working. I called their twenty-four hour line and left a message. But by the next day I still hadn't heard back from anyone so I gave them another call. I think their lack of responsiveness is their only real drawback. I feel like the few times I've had to call them, I've had to be the one to chase them and keep calling them to make things happen. Almost like I had to work a little too hard to make contact. That is the biggest frustration. After I was able to get somebody on the phone, everything that followed went really well. Otherwise, I think this company is great! All of the technicians are excellent and provide great customer service and I have nothing bad to say about them. If you want to feel good about the work being done by heating and AC technicians who are knowledgeable and competent. Who are experienced and are able to fix the problem at hand, and not go looking for other problems to fix. The technicians are greatly skilled and will go to great lengths to get the issue repaired. more

During the weekend of August 20, our air conditioner stopped cooling. I waited until the following week to call and have it looked at as the weather had cooled down some. I called Southport around 1:00 or so on Wednesday, August 24 to have someone come and look at it. James was at our home by about 2:30 that same day. He was very professional and fixed the problem, as well as helping us know how old our furnace and air conditioners are (as we have only owned the home a few years.) James provided excellent service and was very professional. I'd highly recommend Southport to others. more

Southport replaced our old poorly functioning furnace and A/C almost 1 1/2 years ago and they have been working perfectly ever since. Today had a leak in one of the basement pipe joints. Josh was there by noon and the problem was fixed with all due dispatch. We highly recommend Southport to everyone for their heating, A/C and Plumbing needs. They are the best and you can trust them! During the pre-sale, Southport Heating, Plumbing, & Geothermal was very helpful with providing me with facts for my decision making. I had picked them in the phone book initially. They weren't the cheapest, but I had confidence after the pre-sale so I chose them. Upfront, I had good feelings about them. During the installation, the workers from Southport was very professional, and came when they said they would. They installed units within the said time frame. During the post-sale, I did have one small issue, but Southport responded immediately and took the effort to solve the issue. What I had Southport Heating, Plumbing, & Geothermal do was put in a heating and air conditioning system. I went with them because I had actually used them before for a rental property. I had used them to put in a heating and air conditioning system 3 years ago. This time around they had it done in a day, which I thought was great. There were a couple of unanswered questions though. I thought I was going to get one year free financing like I did three years ago, but it turned out to be interest only, so I have to pay the principal payments. It was not explained as well as it could have been, so when I got the bill I was a little surprised. The other thing was that when they gave the quote they talked about getting a $200 rebate from Carrier. They told me that the secondary heat exchange is what had gone out and that normally Carrier gives a refund for that because it is not supposed to go out. I haven't seen anything yet, and that was May, and it's almost August now. Those are the two dangling things. Other than that, everything is fine. more
