Shi Salon

I love Shi. I found them when I lived in STL. I happen to see a young lady walking through the mall with her hair looking just FIERCE. I asker her where she got it done and the rest if history. I love Marie, the owner, she is wonderful. The entire staff is friendly and the salon has a wonderful atmosphere and feel about it. I now live in Washington, DC and have yet to find a salon that take as much pride and care in doing my hair. From Detroit to Washington DC I have never been to another salon/stylist as good as those at Shi salon. When it was time for me to get my hair re-cut I flew all the way back to STL just to see Marie. And, on top of cuts and color, they do some of the fiercest weaving I have ever seen. Lynn, who I don't believe works there anymore, also owns a salon and does the best eyebrows you will ever see. I recently visited Shi Salon and has an appointment with Marie. The inside of the shop is very sheek and modern and all of the women were friendly. I went to get a straight press, as I have been natural for 2 years. I had received rave reviews from some of my friends and decided to try it out myself and I must say it was great. Marie was not at all intimidated by the amount of hair I have, because it is really thick. Even though my appointment was with Marie, another one of the girls actually blowdried and flatironed my hair straight, Quianna. She is really good. My hair is bone straight and has a lot of body. Marie did bend my ends and continued to get to know me as a person. This place is very personable and professional and I will be returning again. I recommend you go check it out! Ladies if you are looking for a salon where you don't smell burning hair and extra loud gossip you need to visit Shi Salon! The women were so professional, knowledgeable about hair and its care that I was so shocked. I have been from shop to shop and I finally did it right this time! I have gotten the best sew in ever. My hair wasn't damaged in the process, my stylist knew what she was doing, she asked me questions about my service. I mean I walked out of the salon knowing I was the *ish. I mean normally the hairstyle I have I would not have had the confidence to pull it off, but I did today! Hello St. Louis I just wanted to take the opportunity to let all the women in the city know if you are looking for a salon that is professional with great atmosphere and of course they best hair stylist in th area I have found it at the Shi Salon. I visit the Shi Salon every week faithfully for my weekly wash and set or anything else that I may need to get done by my hair care professional Constance, who has been the only person that I will allow to touch my hair for the past 8 years. I went through numerous hair stylist until I was lucky enough to be referred to Constance by a family member and the rest is history, she is professional and very knowledgeable about her craft. What I love about Constance is that I can go into the shop to get my hair done and just sit down in the chair and allow her to do what she does best and it is exactly what I wanted without opening my mouth. She takes her time and thinks about what is best for you and you come out of the hair salon like you just left the spa. Since my experience with going to the Shi Salon to get my hair done I feel that I can trust anyone of the ladies there with my hair and I know I will be happy with the outcome. So shout out to Constance, Marie and all the ladies at the Shi Salon keeping doing what you do and rest assure that nobody does it like you guys! Great place to get your hair done, and Shi Salon carries Mixed Chicks products. So if you have curls, these products will define them. And if you want to take your curls striaght, you can also use Mixed Chicks before you have Shi put any heat on those locks. Either way, Mixed Chicks and Shi will help your hair to shine! more

Before my experiece at Shi Salon with my Stylist Constance, my relaxers would never take correctly, atleast not without a burning sensation that is;Because of her professional relaxer system, she is able to immediately apply the haircolor to the hair and it doesn't cause irritation to the scalp or breakage. Before my visit to Shi Salon i couldn't tell you what it meant to have body or shine to the hair and now i recommend everyone educate themselves . Another thing I love about my stylist is that she can tell you step by step how to keep your hair healthy and will let you know why she's uses certain products and the effect it will have on your hair. Shi Salon is a friendly environment that allows you to fit right in, therefore inspiring me to come up with a phrase describing my experice at Shi Salon, " Fierce Intensity!" My experience at Shi Salon was perfect! It was organized, clean, chic and mostly professional. My stylist Constance was wonderful. Not only did she whip my hair into shape, she took the time out to explain what she did as well as making suggestions of products that would help me maintain my style in between visits. Lastly, the color job she did was perfect! She was able to take the color that I wanted and liven it up! I have to say that Shi Salon is St. Louis' best kept secret when it comes to hair! I went to Shi Salon today for a much needed relaxer.The salon was very nice, very chic and the staff was so friendly, and welcoming. My stylist was Tiffany and let me tell you, she was everything I dreamed of and more. She explained what she was doing as she went along, which is a plus for me. My hair came out fabulous, I cant stop swinging it!!! Anyone in Saint Louis Mo, or planning on visiting you should check out this salon!!! In search for the wow factor I turned to the hairs doctors at SHI SALON and boy I am glad I did!!! I was refered to the SHi SALON by this lady at a Big department store she couldnt do it so she told me to go to her friend Tiffany and boy I am glad that I did My overall experience have been nothing but wonderful the firsttime I sat in Tiffany"s chair I can remember my first hair style she called it the pixie ,boy did she nail the perfect little style for me at that time!! I cannot fathom going anywhere else to get the perfect sevice that Tiff gives me She is a wonderful person so young and know how to do hair thanks Tiff for my wonderful experiences worth ever penny and Da Tip!!!!! I just got back from my haircut at Shi. I was losing my hair and it was too long for how thin it had become so I went to Shi. Aba helped me. She cut it above the shoulder and made me absolutely LOVE it. They were so nice, so helpful. It was beautiful and welcoming and I loved my experience there. I would recommend it to anyone! I WAS REFERRED TO SHI BY A FRIEND...I IMMEDIATELY MADE AN APPOINTMENT. I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT HOW MY HAIR WOULD TURN OUT.I WANTED TO GET MY HAIRCUT, AND I WANTED IT DONE RIGHT,SO I HOPED SHI WOULDNT LET ME DOWN :)...WHEN I WALKED INTO THE SHOP, I FELT SO WELCOMED. I WAS INTRODUCED O THE ENTIRE STAFF. THEN, I WAS TAKEN TO THE SHAMPOO CHAIR. THE WOMAN WHO DID MY SHAMPOO WAS VERY PLEASANT AND CONVERSATIONAL, WICH I ABSOLUTELY LOVED. Hi while on business in St. Louis I had the opportunity to visit Shi Salon for a qick shampoo. There was a beautiful young woman who greeted me at the front desk. I inquired about prices and services and all that good stuff and she shared with me all of the pertinent details, but decided that she would do my hair. I sat in her chair, she shampooed me, hooked me up and I left feeling grand! Her name is Abbra, as I decided to walk back to my hotel room, she looked at me as if I was crazy. I then shared that being from the New York area walking for us is not a big deal, she insisted on driving me and I was really grateful. Abbra made my Tuesday afternoon in St. Louis, stress free and for that she gets major points and big kudos! I have never been more happy with my hair since i discovered Shi Salon. My Stylist, Tiffany J, is wonderful; She listens to my concerns, but also maintains the health of my hair to achieve a style of my own. Tiffany is the bomb, as are all the stylists at Shi. The customer service and atmoshpere at shi is wonderful. Shi Salon is number one! more

The stylists at Shi are nice and friendly and each person I came across made sure to greet me. My hair was extremely damaged and I was terrified about getting my hair cut. But, Abra gave me a haircut that I really like and everything worked out just fine. more

When I made an appointment with Abra, I was having a serious hair emergency. I had thin spots in my hair from my lupus and the home haircut I had given myself was not hot. But, Abra worked her magic and fixed my hair something lovely. I had a partial sew-in done and it looked really good. The stylists were all polite and friendly and they seemed to work well together. If I could change one thing about my experience at Shi, I would have the styling go more quickly. Still, I enjoyed my experience and I will continue to patronize Shi! more

I am new to the Shi Salon and couldn't wait to make my appointment for the following week. My sister recommended her beautician Tiffany to me after hearing about my horrifying experience the week prior with a new beautician that I tried per a co-workers recommendation. After leaving their shop (name will remain unknown) almost in tears, with a hair cut that I did not ask for I was even more skeptical this time around. Tiffany made me feel really comfortable, was VERY polite, and highly skilled. I definitely recommend Tiffany, and the Salon in itself to anyone. My only advice would be to make it clear EXACTLY what you want so that you won't be charged for something that you didn't see coming. more

All I can say is, "THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!" I had sworn off African American Hairstylist after going through a horrific experience two years ago at the hands of a stylist who over processed my hair and caused me to go bald. However, Tiffany has restored my faith in the AA stylist because I look and feel GREAT! I have searced high and low for the past three years since moving to St. Louis for a stylist and I can finally say my search is over! I will, definitely, refer all of my family, friends and co-workers to Tiffany. She was very helpful, concerned and even explained the style she wanted to give me before cutting my hair. When I expressed my desire to let my hair grow she didn't do what she wanted but took into consideration what I wanted and then told me what she would like to do. After giving my consent to cut more off my hair she proceeded to making my hair look the best it's looked in the three years I've lived here.
