Everyone I know has given nothing but positive complements about Shell's -Fresh Seafood Festaurant.
I thought I'd give it a try & met a friend there for lunch.
By the restaurant theming (boat hung high up over tables nautical items & pictures on wall) you know that Shell's is a seafood restaurant. The restaurant was not busy when we went at 2:30pm.
The menu has a extensive collection of seafood and a few non-seafood items all priced reasonably.
We ofered Shrimp & crab dip for our appetizer, It came to the table bubbling hot, the cheese was like lava (LOL). But the dip was served with 8 chips, (HUH?). We had to ask for more chips. It was very good, the dip had a good amount of seafood combined with both montery jack & chedder cheese. I recommend this as an appetizer.
I oredered the Fresh Grouper sandwich grilled, it was cooked perfectly and served on a bun with tater sauce & lettuce, I opted for no lettuce (this e-coli thing has me freeked out). The sandwich was served with coleslaw that was otherwise flavorless untill I added salt & pepper, plus french fries which I assume got the seasoning from the coleslaw since they were overly seasoned.
My friend ordered the Shrimp & Scallop pasta. This was served in a garlicy white wine based sauce, that was a little salty for her taste, but she said it was very good.
Dinner salads or soup do not come with entrees and cost extra when you order an entree.
The service we had was just average, I had to ask for the iced-tea glasses to be refilled, the server brought bread but no knife to cut it with, had to ask for the knife, and my pet peeve- dirty plates from appetizer were left at the table as entree was served.
