When I needed a new heating and air system installed, I had six different crews come out to give estimates. Some of them just went on and on about how great they were, but couldn't really say what they could do for me. Service Specialties Inc. had good salesmanship, but kept it professional, and didn't go overboard. They gave a quick assessment of what they thought I needed, and didn't beat around the bush.
Their approach caught my attention, and so I indicated to them that I wanted different levels of estimates for different machines--ones that were more efficient and so forth. They were able to produce detailed information on the different units, along with customized rates pertaining to each. Later, when I informed SSI of an estimate one of their competitors had given me, they immediately renegotiated, over the phone, without having to come back out to the house. They ended up offering me the best machine at the best price, which I, of course, took.
The installation, just like the sales process, was first rate. The serviceman knew what he was doing, and was probably just as smart as anyone else in the organization. This gentleman had good knowledge and commitment, and his technical expertise was evident. He worked hard and efficiently, and his intelligence inspired confidence. They are an all around smart company, SSI.
From start to finish, working with SSI was a positive experience. Their friendly demeanor, plus professionalism, is a strong combination. I'm inclined to do things myself whenever possible, but when I have to call in outside help, I prefer to use companies like SSI.
