Saputos is old school, supper club type Italian food. I have been coming here for decades and the food, while not fancy, is consistently great. The service is top notch with several waitresses that have worked there for years. I like the baked Rigatoni with meatballs. Also, their Saputos antipasto plate is a great start to a meal. I enjoy the Italian dishes, but what really sets the place apart are their steaks. I almost always now get an Italian breaded filet mignon. The beef is locally butchered, never frozen and superbly cooked. Whatever size the cut is listed at, it's always a couple ounces larger. It's not inexpensive for Springfield, but it's about 2/3 the price of a top Chicago steakhouse. I have rarely had a better steak. Enjoy!
