My son and i were in Springfield for a short trip this week to go the Lincoln Museum. We asked for advice on where to eat dinner and were told from two very nice people to go to Saputo's for authentic Italian and friendly atmosphere. We are pleased to say we found both at your restaurant!\r Shirley was such a sweet and attentive server - i've been in the restaurant business for 30 years and she was wonderful!! So caring, genuine and efficient. The salad dressing was delish, the pizza sooo good, the wine, the canoli all made for an evening we will always remember. Keep up the good work! You really are making memories!! Thank You! more

I came here for my ""go-to"" carb loading meal the night before my half marathon. This unassumingly hidden place has a serious old school Italian theme once you go in! I'm not exaggerating when I say that the inside decor truly exemplifies Italian restaurants. \r \r I was greeted by a friendly staff and while I ate by myself this meal (which I usually hate) the servers were super friendly and checked on me frequently. \r \r I ordered the individual pizza and was pretty surprised just how fast it came out! It was darn good and I honestly consider myself a pizza snob. I finished most of it though I could have easily polished it off. \r \r I'd definitely come back for the good prices, friendly staff, and good tasting foods! more

I was on business in Springfield and staying at the Doubletree across the street from the restaurant. It was recommended by the hotel as a great locally owned Italian restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. I had the Chicken Parm, which was a generous serving and really good. The atmosphere has a vintage 70's look, which I found appealing. My meal with a couple glasses of wine was around $35. I sat at the bar and the lady bartender was great. I would highly recommend trying this place! more

When my brother is in town from California the only place he wants to go is Saputo's for their Italian breaded steak! Imagine a lemon infused char-crusted New York Strip or Filet seared to mouthwatering perfection! Paired with one of their fine wines & you will have discovered one of Springfield's best kept secrets more

My family and I dined at Saputo's. It reminded me of how restuarants looked when I was a kid...\r We chose it becuase it was close to our hotel, but you should choose it becuase it is GOOD. The restaurant features homemade ravioli and lasagne noodles. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. We began with a thin-crust pizza that was fantastic. Our entrees included baked lasagne, eggplant parm and tortellini. No one left hungry! more

We chose this place because it was just around the corner from our hotel, and it turned out to be a great decision. Saputo's is a family-owned little Italian place that's been in Springfield for years. It's easy to see why; the food is delicious and reasonably priced, the service is friendly and attentive, and the location is great. more

Stopped at Saputo's for the first time last night. All three of us enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and wonderful smells of great Italian food cooking! Our daughter asked for a light sauce and the server recommended the vodka sauce, a big hit with our daughter. Hubs and I had the clam linguini in white sauce - best I've ever had. This is a light, almost clear sauce with lots of broth and not a lot of fat. I also ordered the anchovy salad, basically the dinner salad with the best, freshest tasting brined anchovies I've ever had. The pasta dinners come with a salad and choice of 3 tasty meatballs or sausage on the side. We had the meatballs and liked them. The service we received was top-notch, prices were very reasonable, and the food was really good.\r To top it all off, On the way out we saw an enormous, delectable looking pizza being served - will definitely be back! more

they have several very good dishes I would recommend to anyone. My go-to is the Chicken & Peppers - it is two grilled chicken breasts covered in roasted bell peppers, onions, and a spicy marinara sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs is also very good. The marinara sauce is what sets this place apart from competitors - it is very very good. more

We were on our way back from Chicago and found Saputo's on Yelp and decided to try. We didn't have a reservation arrived at 5:40 on a Friday evening. They were booked but gave us their last open table, made us feel like family and the food was fantastic. The house dressing is amazing, bread was awesome and our dishes chicken fettuccine and chicken Parmesan were the best. Would recommend to everyone and we will be sure and stop in again if we are in Springfield IL. more

Best chocolate martini ever! Great French martini as well. Hubby likes the cheesy baked lasagna and the warm bread is to die for! Baked cheese manicotti is my fave as is the warm chocolate cake. Delicious! Great service, especially love waitress Shirley. more

Great family owned restaurant using old family recipes. Spaghetti and meatballs and Homemade lasagna are great! Nice cozy atmosphere with great service. This is not your ""Garden"" Italian restaurant-much better food and more interesting! more
