I've been to Santorini a few times now, and have to say I'm largely unimpressed. The food is 'okay' - I'd honestly prefer Dino's Gyros to this place. The last time I visited for...

Nice Touch 6/9/2011

I was pleasantly impressed with the atmosphere and overall feel of this establishment. I went there with a few co-workers and our server made sure we didn't feel unloved. Thanks for having the game on, its hard to find a place with good food that has decently sized tv screens near the minnetonka area. more

Best Thursday Ladies Night Out 1/23/2009

First time customers, my friend and I decided to check out the new Santorini restaurant in Eden Prairie. We arrived there around 10p on Thursday evening and to our surprise there was live entertainment. We sat at the bar and had great service from the bartender. I was not familiar with their wines and the bartender let me sample a few until I found the perfect one. We ended up buying the bottle plus some. The evening specials were a steal but more so very delicious. The Mediterranean Quesadillas were to die for. A gentleman sitting beside us was overwhelmed with his $2 sliders that also came with fries. We not only enjoyed our wine, appetizers and the surroundings but we also found ourselves out on the dance floor which we had not done in a long while. We give this restaurant 5 stars for a GREAT night out!!! We can't wait to bring our families here for dinner or a Sunday Brunch. Pros: Close to home, unique offerings and values, great music Cons: Higher end prices for wine more

Different Location . . . Same Great Restaurant! 12/11/2008

Santorini reopened mid-November after a two week hiatus to move and fine-tune it's new location at 13000 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie (SW corner of Hwy 5 & Prairie Center Drive). The location has been home to three or four different restaurants in the past few years including Pickled Parrot and Canyon Grill. Nearly the entire staff made the move. The menu is familiar with some interesting additions (a wood fire oven adds several grilled items as well as wood oven pizza's). The Mediterranean standards are still there. Our party of four shared Flamed Saganaki and Calamari a la Romana for appetizers and a family sized Horiatiki salad (tomato, cucumber, feta cheese and olives in an olive oil dressing). Two ordered the Gyro dinner, one had seared Ahi Tuna, I had the Lamb Shank. All were magnificent although the Ahi was a little overdone. The wine list has been updated somewhat and the selection is more than adequate with some notable changes i.e. fewer Greek wines, more Sonoma and Alexander Valley. Parking is adequate and valet is available at night. There are several small to large rooms which could be utilized for private parties. In the Summer, the large outside deck looks as though it has it?s own bar and a great view of the lake across the street. At night, just look for all the blue and white lighted trees and signs. Pros: Same Great Food, Many great additions. Cons: Can't think of any. more

Happy for a new start. 10/15/2008

Now with Santos moving to a new building in Eden Prairie we will miss them. As a businessman that Pros: Great food Great service you have to know the staff.. Cons: bar gets busy more

Santorini is worth it brunch or dinner! 8/31/2008

Just read a terrible review of Santorini and must say I have been to this restaurant many times and have always had great service/food. We usually go for their over the top brunch. Tonight was perfect start to finish. I strayed from the usual greek fanfare and ordered the south american steak. I was a little worried about ordering steak at a greek place. I LOVED it. It was cooked perfectly and came with a side sauce that I am going to hopefully try to reproduce at home. Our waitress was also very helpful while we were trying to decide what to order. Very nice night out. Thanks Santorini!! more

horrible service and ibs inducing food 8/26/2008

I was excited I got to bring all my boys out to lunch. Then we sat down and this mean angry ""because she is still working at 60 year old"" devil lady introduced herself by throwing the menus at us. After about 20 minutes she came back for our orders. I ordered the greek salad without peppers and she snarled at me. Yes fangs in all, she snarled. My husband ordered a gyro and my dad ordered the salmon salad. My one and a half year old was with us and no one told us they had a kids menu or even gave us one. No big deal he ate my husband oven cooked french fries. Another twenty minutes passed and our food had arrived, it wasn't bad but wasn't good. I guess average but with a hefty 55 tab. At this time I asked for warm milk for my son, the demon woman again snarled WE DON'T NORMALLY HAVE MILK!! 1o minutes later she returned with a warm cup of milk, I swear she acted liked I was asking for her first born child, but I think she ate her first born child. The waitress if you would call her that never ask how are food was or anything. The whole time she acted like we were a inconvenience to her and her devil worshiping. Pros: I did not have to cook it Cons: service was terrible, rude, and unfriendly more

Enchanting Experience 3/28/2008

Last Wednesday night, 3/26/2008, out for dinner with friends, we all had the most fantastic time at Santorinis! Wonderful server, great drinks and by far the best Sea Scallops with a cream lobster sauce. Our meals were definately made by a culinary chef. The atmosphere in the bar/lounge was wonderful too. more

This place stinks 2/1/2008

The quality of the food is inconsistent. Service is however consistently horrific. The wait staff is unenthusiastic at best and the management is down right rude and condescending. Save your hard earned money for another establishment who still believe they should work for your dining dollars. Pros: You don't have to make the food yourself Cons: Service, management more

Just 'okay' 1/23/2008

I've been to Santorini a few times now, and have to say I'm largely unimpressed. The food is 'okay' - I'd honestly prefer Dino's Gyros to this place. The last time I visited for lunch, a 60-70 year old woman was our server (seriously), and she wasn't personable at all. In fact, she made us to feel like a bit of an inconvenience to her. I asked for a dessert menu after lunch, and instead, this AARP-er had to heft a giant tray filled with a dozen disgusting-looking faux representations of their dessert selection. I decided to try the baklava, and by the texture, it tasted as though it had been made the day prior. Also, It was well after Christmas, but they appeared to still have Christmas-like decorations about the dining area, and cobwebs to boot! Cons: Poor service, sub-par mediterranean fare more

Best Pasta Bar 12/29/2007

This is hands down my favorite restaurant! I have never had bad food here. The pasta bar is the best in town. It's not only great tasting, but it's HUGE! We always look forward to the leftovers the next day. Pros: Food, Service more

Delicious!!! 10/15/2007

We attended Santorini last weekend. They were very busy but the waitstaff still greeted us with a smile! We had a cocktail and were promptly seated in the dining room. We started with the flaming cheese appetizer, Greek salad, and Avegolemono soup. Very, very good and filling. We ordered the Peasant Platter for our main course and were given so much food that we couldn't possibly eat it all. The food was delicious and I can't wait to go back! I highly recommend this restaurant! Splendid!!! Pros: Delicious food and friendly waitstaff. Cons: Busy bar. more

The most unauthentic Greek food! 9/17/2007

I love Greek food and have been to many Greek restaurants in Twin Cities, but Santorini was definitely a disappointment. First of all, me and my partner were seated right next to the place where all waiters/cleaners were disposing of dirty dishes and leftovers (nothing better than loud clinging and scraping of plates to perk up your appetite). I guess the first glance at the menu should have alarmed me to the impending disaster: the special of the night was Filet Minon with mashed potatoes and Italian Salad. Sounds very greek to me, no? We were brought a basket of bread - white bread, instead of tarditional pita bread. We ordered some wine (please note, that there are 2 red and 2 white Greek wines on the menu of about 30 wines), and had to wait for about 20 minutes before getting it (it was 9.30 pm, and half of the tables were empty, which left me wondering to whihc store our waiter had to run to get the wine). It was not particularly delicious to discover several pieces of ice in my glass of red wine. Pros: Hmmm..... Cons: Not Greek, expensive, way too suburban-feeling more

Food and service was great 9/8/2007

While celebrating a big milesone we were greeted by the bartender and were given a free Saginaki! this was a great touch. The bartender was able to attend to our dining needs even though he had many coustomers to serve. The Food was great, it was a polished performance of culinary skill and should not be overlooked when you dine out! I liked this place better than all others in the area. Pros: Great Service and fun folks! more

best greek in the burbs 7/29/2007

santorinis is always great... get the sakangi (opa!), some great lamb chops, and a shot of ouzo on the way out. say hi to Tony, and shake his hand, he always has something nice to say. also get the pasta bar! just great! Pros: best greek food in the burbs, great service Cons: always busy, need a reservation to dine in the restuarant, parking lot is always full more

Great food 7/8/2007

Last evening my wife and I had dinner at Santorini's, I had to see for myself just how bad the service had recently been, we have been dining here for years and before this we were huge fans of Nicklow's. But never once has the sevice or management been nothing but outstanding, as was the case last night. To top off the great service the food was wonderful. The Lamb chops were on special and they along with the entire plate was very good. Drinks were refilled, our waitress striked up fun conversation, the food had such great flavor that no additional salt, pepper, seasonings or sauces were required. The booths are a little tight but O-Well. I think maybe some people cannot be pleased or just have really bad luck. We will continue to frequent this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone. And don't forget to order the Saganaki for and appetizer - they do it perfect! Pros: Food! Cons: No cherries jubilee for dessert anymore! more

I'll never go back 6/27/2007

Cons: Service and Food more

A Mixed Bag 6/26/2007

My wife and I frequent many restaurants in the Western half of MSP. We return to Santorini's from time to time, despite the very valid complaints that service is from average to poor depending on... well... luck, I guess. We have had experiences where the service was acceptable, the seating was decent and that was sufficient given the food. We have had times when we really thought the waitperson should seriously consider a different profession. Pros: Sunday Brunch. Interesting and varied food and bottomless mimosa's Cons: If they pull out all the stops, the service can attain mediocrity. more

Management is Horrible!! 5/24/2007

I would definitely NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone! The management here is horrible! I called a week in advance before mother's day to reserve a table and the woman I spoke to said they were booked and to call that morning to see if their patio would be open and they could seat us then and she took my name down. That morning of Mother's day i called and spoke to the extremely rude manager, he cut me off when i started to ask if the patio would be open and put me on hold and when he FINALLY came back on i asked him and he said they didn't know yet and didn't offer to get my name or anything and was very short with me. The visit before , the service was horrible and noone there is overally friendly. They need to step up their customer service big time...not impressed!! Pros: None that I can think of Cons: Customer service was HORRIBLE more

Bring your appetite! 5/15/2007

My coworkers and I stopped in for lunch yesterday. To my surprise, the place was fairly busy. We were seated right away and decided to order from the pasta bar. (Its like ordering mongolian bbq but greek style) There were varieties of meats, seafoods, veggies, pastas and sauces to choose from. I had a seafood and artichoke pasta blend with white sauce. (you also get salad and bread) The portions were huge (could have been shared w/another person) and the prices were VERY affordable! All in all, the pasta was good enough for me to go back and order take out. The restaraunt wasn't exactly my style... it was old fashioned, fixures seemed outdated and the bar/dance looked like it was homemade, literally. more

Don't Bother 5/12/2007

We have visited Santorini?s several times in the past. We?ve had some rough experiences at this restaurant, but we wanted to give it another try. We will NEVER go back. The food was cold and the service was mediocre. More importantly the management was horrible. We had an issue with a gift card that was expired and the owner would not honor it. It had been expired only be a few weeks. We were accused of not leaving a tip (which we did). He told us that he didn?t need our business. I?ve lived in NYC, LA, and Chicago. I travel each week for business and frequent restaurants all over the world. I?ve never had an experience like this. I could NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. Minneapolis has too many GREAT restaurants. In my opinion don?t bother with this one. Pros: nothing Cons: everything more
