Worst

First of all if you get there before 10pm there's no line. The drinks are cheap and strong. The dance floor is crowded and there is nothing but hip hop playing most of the night. ...

Like many places right on Hermosa pier - this place can get a little cheesy. Mostly a young crowd - which is good if your'e in to that. Great diverse crowd. Went to dinner here once before the dancing began and was surprised by the food, much better than i expected. more

This is one of the best bars I have ever been to for dancing (someone entered not good for dancing....and I am in shock)! One of the top reasons I go there with friends is for the music and dancing! Pros: great music, 2 dance floors, great atmosphere Cons: hard to get in, a little small, needs bigger danceflo more

Best one on the Pier! 1/28/2003

Best (and really only) course of action for Sangria... EAT DINNER and then stick around for the club. Grab a couple of friends, chit chat and order some tapas. As you drink the yummy sangria, the already good looking people start looking better as they pile in. If you get there between 9pm - 10pm, yer screwed. Long lines. Looooong lines! But it really is worth the wait. If only they had a bigger dancing area! :( Pros: Great singles scene, Fun atmosphere, Good music Cons: hard to find parking, Long lines sometimes, small dance floor more

Sangria is fun... if you can handle waiting two hours to get in. Seems like the further toward the water you go on the Hermosa pier, the shorter the lines are, but the less, um, attractive the clientele. Sangria is the furthest club from the water on the pier. Do the math. more

Cheesy But Fun and Good Eats 6/27/2002

If you're 22 and just out of college, this is a great bar to meet and greet the local flavor. It's kind of a cheesy pick up bar, but if that's what you're looking for, check it out. I used to go here all of the time in my younger years (back before Pier Ave. was even a promendade!) Food is great, spanish tapas I believe, and it's tasty. The pesto dip they give you with the bread is a great place to start. more

Once the dinner crowd is complete, this place turns into the best dance/meeting place in Hermosa. Don't be intimidated by the long lines cause once you are in, it will have been worth the wait. This is a cool place to go for dinner. The food is good, especially with a sangria at hand. After dinner, Sangria transforms into a bar/club. The place gets pretty packed pretty fast. There is usually a long line to get in. more

  • "Sangria; where the Spanish Mediterranean meets the Baja Peninsula in Hermosa Beach" Chef Oscar serves up a tasty combination of traditional Spanish Tapas with classic Mexicali dishes all with a special twist.Sangria is able to cater sit down feasts for up to 200 guests on the patio or in the private banquet room. Sangria is both a Spanish/Mexicali restaurant as well as a night club with live music and DJ dancing just off the Hermosa Beach Pier.We feature a children's menu for family dining early in the evening. On the weekends the restaurant is cleared after 9:00pm and the nightclub comes alive.Reservations are available for parties of six or more and a private banquet room is available for catered events for as many as 200 guest for a sit-down meal.
