First of all if you get there before 10pm there's no line. The drinks are cheap and strong. The dance floor is crowded and there is nothing but hip hop playing most of the night. ...

Fun for a bit! 1/5/2010

One of the first pros you will find is the location. The pier is a great place to walk down and then why not grab a drink on the way! Sangria has decent service and a young professional crowd. Would recommend to start for a couple drinks the head down the Pier for the rest of the night! more

Dancing queen 11/20/2009

I enjoy good music to dance to and Sangria offers just that. If you get bored of one type of music, go to the other room for a completely different experience! I like that the music wasn't boring, the dj mixed it up with radio hits and older 80s & 90s songs. It was great fun. The sangria is pretty decent, though they only put apples in them and no other variety of fruit. The wait is long at any club on the pier but Sangria is a great little place to go and dance away! Pros: good sangria, 2 dancefloors Cons: overcrowded more

Pretends like it's Vegas...and acts even worse 8/24/2008

I have been to Sangria about three times. Every time the experience has been less than desirable. The security staff holds the line for no apparent reason and will make the line wait about 45 minutes to an hour to get in. People cut the line and pay off the bouncer all the time, but usually these are the drunk group of five girls who think they don't have to wait in any line. The security staff is very rude. It's a shame because the bartenders are very nice and apologetic for the horrible host staff. Drinks also come in plastic dixie cups which is unacceptable for a place that charges a cover. They do this so they don't have to pay more barbacks to clean up hard plastic cups. Cheap plastic cups mean spilled drinks while dancing or moving through the crowd. The crowd is also quite disappointing. It's the Hermosa Crowd that thinks they are in an elite and hard to get into club, and they act that way- which quickly becomes tiring. The security will also decide to not let you pass from room to room because of capacity. This means that if you credit card/girlfriend/friends are in the inside room, and the security decides to hold the door to the outside room, your going to be stuck until they let you into the other room. I had to ask for the manager to get into the inside room to close my tab and leave. Why wait in line, pay a cover, be treated rudely...only to get an overpriced drink in a flimsy plastic cup to hang out with lame people and possibly not be allowed to get your credit card or see your friends when you want. Why? Pros: Bartenders are nice Cons: Long Line, Cover, Horrible Bar Amenities, Crowd more

EASY, BREAZY, Bangin. 7/6/2008

Gotta say, if you don't mind droppin a c-note on food, drink, and the like.... You've pretty much going get your hook up. 1--The thing to keep in mind is the opposite gender is there for the same reason, so don't be awkward. 2-- Dress nice. I have to tell you, the dudes dressed like chumps were sittin off to the side, NOT have a great night. 3-- this is for the guys, Dance. Period. Sangria has two great dance floors (little crowded but ok) and two DJ's every night. So get in there and get some. Pros: Great singles joint. If you don't come out with a girl on your arm, you're probably just a tool. Cons: CROWDED. Expensive. Lots of dudes there for the same reason you are. more

DISCRIMINATING!!!!!!!!!! 5/7/2008

ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE IS THAT THEY ARE DISCRIMINATING TORCE LATINOS!!!!!!!!!!!! On September 16th (MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY) a group of friends and i went out to a place called Sangria's in Hermosa Beach and were straight up discriminated against. They wouldnt let us in this place because we were a large group of hispanics. Don't think that we were dressed wrong or started some stuff there, because we didn't. We were the first ones in line and waited an hour for them to come to us and ask to speak to the leader of our group. My sister spoke with this black sellout and he said we werent going to be able to get in because one of the guys that wen't with us looked like somebody that came in the previous week and started trouble but none of the guys that went had even been there before. They also stated that an Hermosa Beach Police officer came and told them that but when we asked to speak to the officer they did nothing, we asked to speak to the manager and didn't let us. We drove 40 minutes, paid vallet and all just to not even be allowed into this place. I called twice that day to ask about the specifications on the dress code every single one of us were dressed properly, none of us were thugs, we did nothing wrong. I have never felt so discriminated against in my life. Its not right that they still do things like this to people, please dont let Sangria's get away with this, do something to spread the word out about them. Please take the time to repost this as a bulletin. How is this place going to be named after a latin drink but yet they discriminate against latinos? Never go here, this type of stuff has to stop, we are in the year 2008, people don't have the right to treat people like this. more

Good Fun Place 3/30/2008

This place is great. first of all, the food is great. Like all of hermosa beach, it gets really busy on a friday or saturday night, but the people that work there are really nice. The rest of hermosa beach can be pretty crappy, but this place does a good job of setting itself apart from the rest. Again, I think it's the people that work there that make the difference. The servers are very nice and friendly. the bartenders are great. the managers are very helpful. The bouncers are awesome. Good crowd, good music, good atmosphere. Very fun. This is a top notch place. I Highly recomend it. Pros: Good Food. Great music. Cons: Gets crowded on the weekends. sometimes long lines to get in. more
