I've always heard horrible stories about this place. It's honestly not that bad, but it's surely not the best pizza in the area.

We ate at Sal's Bella PIzza this past 6/1/2012

We ate at Sal's Bella PIzza this past Monday on Memorial Day (they were open!) My wife and I shared the Florentina pizza (white pizza with spinach and tomato) and an order of breaded ravioli. Everything was delicious. The owner came over to greet us and he was such a genuinely nice man. We used to frequent a pizzeria in Norfolk but I think we will now make the trip to Sal's. The food was very delicious and we enjoyed our trip tremendously. more

Great service, FABULOUS food and awesome atmosphere. This place dishes out the best NY style pizza, strombolis and philly cheese steaks in the Tidewater area. A must try for all! more

New York in Virginia Beach! 11/15/2011

Super food (fresh and tasty). The cheese steaks are to DIE for as well as all their pies. They make a mean stromboli, it's HUGE. The prices are very affordable and their beer selection is extensive. Great place to chill out with friends. A must try! more

Delicious, fresh and tasty! They really know how to make NY style pizza and calzones. The pasta is tasty as well. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere is super fun. Try the Margherita pizza and the cheese steaks are to DIE for. more

Best NY Style pizza in Hampton Roads 6/7/2011

Try this place. You will NOT regret it. Their food is delicious, authentic and VERY well priced. Service is wonderful and the portions are massive. They make everything from cheese steaks, pizzas, strombolis, parmigianas, subs, pastas to desserts. Run, not walk to Sal's Bella Pizza in Kings Grant! more

Tried the stromboli, cannoli & greek salad. All were SUPER delicious. Service was great and the price was affordable. Stands apart from other NY pizzerias in the area. Fresh ingredients and great value. Our food was made with love, and we could TASTE it. more

We hold our soccer parties here annually and everyone just LOVES this place. Their pizza by the slice is huge as are all their portions and their prices are very fair. You must try the Chicken Florentina and Margherita pies. They are soooo good. Bravo Sal's Bella Pizza! more

NY Style Pizza in Virginia Beach 4/4/2011

This place is amazing. I grew up in Queens NY and there is NO OTHER PLACE in the area that compares to Sal's. At first I thought they were affiliated with those other ""Bella"" and ""Sal's"" pizzerias but they are NOT. This place is the original that opened at the Oceanfront almost 20 years ago! The owner is a hard-working friendly man who makes the pies himself and the food is so fresh and tasty. The cheese and sauce really make a good pizza and theirs is OUTSTANDING. You must try this place!!!!!! more

There's a lot of pizzerias in VB but this one is the best by far. Fantastic family-run restaurant with great service and delicious meals. Their Sicilian pizza is like nothing I've ever tasted and their hoagies just melt in your mouth. Wonderful job guys! Pros: Huge slices great prices! more

We hold our soccer parties @ Sal's annualy. They are always very accomodating to our families and section off their dining room for us to enjoy our night. They have great specials, outstanding service, and the restaurant is always SO clean. This place is a true gem, you must visit if you've never been! Pros: Family-owned more

Sal's Bella Pizza makes me feel as though I'm right back home in Queens. The service is impreccable & the food is bar none. The ladies working there really know customer service & the owner is one the friendliest business owner around. He always comes by to make sure things are up to par. You get a LOT for what you pay for & you always leave satisfied. Would recommend to all visiting Virginia Beach! Pros: NY Style Pizza & Family Run more

HARD TO BEAT! 11/17/2007

It has been a long time since I have found food this great! I love going to Sals Bella Pizza for a good time and amazing food. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. Not only can you find pizza, but the best strombolis, cheese steaks and calzones in town. The staff, the owner, and the manager are beyond friendly. They also now accept credit cards!Every time I walk in, they are quick to greet. On weekends it is busy, but well worth the wait. It you have somewehere to be, you can always call in your order and then pick it up to go. They have been open for almost 20 years and are very professional in the way they run the restaurant smoothly. Number 1 on my list of places to dine. Pros: friendly, true-italian food, service! THE BEST New York Style Pizza & Authentic Hoagies! 9/30/2007

Can't get a real NY hoagie like I can back home unless I go to Sal's. I'm picky about my hoagies & pizza but they really know how to make AUTHENTIC New York Style Pizzas like what I get back in Queens. Sal's Bella Pizza is a Virginia Beach gem. The food is delicious & service outstanding. Not quite sure what the past reviews were talking about. The Owners are very nice & willing to go the extra mile for customers. Can't get food like that anywhere else. The prices are low & you should try their Salads. They are huge & so very filling!!! My favorite to get there is the Steak Roll. Yummy Sirloin, cheese, mushrooms, green peppers & sauce all baked into a folded over pizza dough concoction. So very good!!! Worst Customer Service EVER! 7/27/2007

This was my first time coming to this pace since it changed owners. I wish they never sold the place. The pizza was so greasy it made my pizza soggy. I was going to try and eat a different piece. After they took what felt like 30 minutes to remake me a piece I didn't even want it. My friends were already done with their food so I was over the whole experience and ready to go. I went to the manager and told her I wasn't going to be eating the pizza. She then told me very rudely that I was going to pay for it. She started yelling at me in front of other customers and told me to never come there again. I did nothing wrong. Their pizza was nasty and I didn't want it. I refused to pay for the pizza and told her I wouldn't be coming back there anyways. She continued to be nasty with me as I paid for my appetizer and then left. As I was leaving the customers who seen it go down said they would never go there again either and they couldn't believe the way the ""manager"" was talking to me. I highly recommend that you do not go here. more
