I got a manicure recently at Sally's Nails, and I'm still wondering to myself why I didn't just walk out in the middle of it. While the manicurist was trimming my cuticles (with t...

I love this place!! 11/24/2009

I've been going to Sally's for 5 years now, and still going even after I've moved out of the U-district...everytime I go to another place I kick myself because they never do as great a job. I love Lynn (the owner) who is super nice and happy all the time. She does the BEST waxing job on my eyebrows - a perfect arch everytime. The bikini waxes are super cheap and takes no time at all. The manicures are excellent, cheap, and fast. The first time I went I was kind of skiddish because it's definitely a whole in the wall place, but once you get over that, you won't regret it! Pros: Cheap and great product! Cons: small, sketchy more

The BEST French manicures - and what a bargain! 2/23/2009

I've been going to Lynn for years - when I was in college, during my visits back to Seattle while I was living on the east coast and now that I'm back in Seattle. Her French manicures are the BEST anywhere I've had them - she uses a paint brush to tidy up the tips, which look amazing. Her shop was redecorated a couple years ago and the new massage chairs for the pedicures are a fantastic bonus. I think the $30 ($5 for French manicure) for a mani/pedi are a STEAL. Lynn and her husband are friendly, conscientious and run a great place. It's not fancy but for $30, you'll get great service in a very friendly atmosphere. I've been to all the high end places in Seattle and in NY, but I still think Lynn's French manicures are the best! Oh, and her waxing services are a steal - and she's very quick and professional! more

very friendly owner, good place to wax 12/30/2007

I've been going to Sally's for a few years while I've been at UW, and she's raised her mani/pedi prices a bit to $30...which I guess is reasonable when compared to the other places on the Ave. It's convenient for students, so it can get pretty busy...try to call and make an apt ahead of time. The owner is the only one who does all the waxing and has very reasonable prices. She has a student rate for bikini and brazillians....for $25....and is very fast. She's also done a decent job on my eyebrows...$8. I just like this place more than some other places I've tried around the U because the owner is friendly and speaks better English than most of the Asian manicurists. There is a guy working there sometimes...and if you can, try to get him because he does a very thorough job . Pros: $25 brazillians/bikinis for students, reasonable prices Cons: can get busy, looks sketchy, not open late more
