The move was VERY smooth and stress-free, thanks to Victor, Foreman on moving day. He was kind and professional, and I knew I was in solid hands immediately after our introduction. I can't say enough positive things about Mike and his colleague, as they both made the physical move the easiest part of the entire moving process. Also, Remarkable Movers was helpful and consistent with communication from beginning to end, especially the post move communication with Nina. I never felt insecure or doubtful, which I have felt many time with other companies in the past. Remarkable Movers is FIRST CLASS, and I appreciated the professional communication and patience which was consistently extended in my direction. The movers from Remarkable Movers were really excellent and made my moving day hassle free! The total price was $465. They arrived to my old apartment and assured me that it would be quick and hassle free. They organized everything with the old apt building in New York City and the new apartment building in Brooklyn. The amount came in less than anything I was quoted by other movers. Total move took 4 hours. Renaldo was the foreman on the job and really took control and made sure it was hassle free. The other 2 men were very nice and executed the move very well. Last weekend I moved into a pretty small loft studio in a walk up building. Being a girl moving out on my own, I had lots of anxiety about the excess furniture and clothing I had. As a woman, having trustworthy movers is even more important because I don't want to feel uneasy with strange men in my home. All of the 4 movers, that were on our moving crew, were the most amazing guys. Remarkable Movers were all extremely friendly, trustworthy and spoke perfect English (native English speakers). Even though my husband was with me during the move, I would have felt 100% okay if I were alone with any of the guys on the moving crew. This was important to me since I have had dodgy movers in the past and I was so happy with the professionalism, trustworthiness and friendliness of all of the guys at Remarkable Movers. Also, when we were done unpacking, the owner of the company came back out to our new home and collected all of the packing supplies that we had used. This was excellent because this way we did not have to find a way to dispose of them (although if you want to keep them, you can purchase what you want from them). The move itself was perfect: The crew showed up right on time and got straight to work. They were extremely speedy and this move was very quick which made us happy since we chose to pay by the hour. We have had bad experiences in the past when paying by the hour that the guys would take a lot of breaks to draw out the move in order to make us pay more but there was none of that with Remarkable Movers! They were very quick and drove straight to our new address and unloaded even quicker than they had packed everything up! The driver of the van knew our city very well and he found our new home perfectly! I was able to schedule a Saturday move with less than 1 week's notice, and even piggy back off of another friend moving on the same day from BK to Manhattan to save everyone time.\r Price/Quotes: They offered me flat rate which I strongly preferred. Their price comparable to other companies that only offered hourly rates (based up on expected moving time) and very reasonable, but instead of a 3-man crew I got 4 men! 4 moving ninjas. I found the online quote form great to really help you understand how much stuff you REALLY have.\r I moved from a 3rd floor walk up to a 5th floor walk up. Mover's nightmare, but these moving ninjas took it in stride and were great.\r They came 1.5 hours early! Luckily I was ready to get moving, but if I wasn't they seemed like it would have been no big deal to wait until my official starting time. My entire 1 bedroom apartment was loaded up and in the truck in just over an hour. How the hell did they do that? I can't imagine who posted 5 star reviews but you decide:\r - movers showed up 1.5 late\r - started backing at 8:30 (had to move a 2br apt. 10 streets, but I sold most of my furniture so it was only 2 beds, no couch, bookshelves and boxes, no dining table or bedroom furniture) \r - finished with the move after 6PM\r - wall unit 2 corners were banged in stain chipped\r - the tape they used stripped off the finising of all 3 of my Ikea bookshelves\r - matress was NOT wrapped and was dragged on the street and halway\r - they lost the screws to my bed so it could not be reassembled, I had to carry the bed boards to the hardware store where they custom fit the screws\r - chipped 2 of my Bo Concept display units beyond repair\r - the owner promised they he will send someone to fix the painting.\r \r The movers were nice and friendly, but must've taken a 2 hour break between leaving the old building and getting to the new. For my third move in New York, I was fortunate enough to find a Living Social deal for 1/2 off two hours about 2 weeks before I was slated to move. \r \r Great timing. \r \r They called ahead to ask if they could come a little early, which was great for me, because I was just waiting for them. When they showed up, I was surprised when I let them in - I think I told them they were the coolest looking movers I'd ever seen. They were even very helpful with the furniture I was still taking apart when they got there. One of the movers (Mike) started singing beautiful songs while working. It was one of those beautiful New York moments I had to tweet about. \r \r They wrapped all my stuff in blanket and plastic, it took them less time than they estimated; they helped me put back together my heavy furniture before they left, and were completely delightful the whole time. Hands down I had a great experience with New York Movers – Remarkable Movers. I was able to schedule a Saturday move with less than 1 week's notice, and even piggy back off of another friend moving on the same day from BK to Manhattan to save everyone time. Price/Quotes: They offered me flat rate which I strongly preferred. Their price comparable to other companies that only offered hourly rates (based up on expected moving time) and very reasonable, but instead of a 3-man crew I got 4 men! 4 moving ninjas. I found the online quote form great to really help you understand how much stuff you REALLY have. I moved from a 3rd floor walk up to a 5th floor walk up. Mover's nightmare, but these moving ninjas took it in stride and were great. They came 1.5 hours early! Luckily I was ready to get moving, but if I wasn't they seemed like it would have been no big deal to wait until my official starting time. My entire 1 bedroom apartment was loaded up and in the truck in just over an hour. How the hell did they do that? I spent hours of the last week just packing! They wrapped up my furniture and were careful with all my belongings. Not at any point did I feel uncomfortable with how they were treating my stuff. Upon move-in, they tackled 4 flights of stairs with a great attitude and were still able to crack some jokes. Even though I offered food, etc., they only accepted some water and Gatorade throughout the day. I'd highly recommend New York Movers – Remarkable Movers for anyone moving. Screw paying friends with pizza and beer - it's so worth the cost, and instead of taking a long day to move, it's done in an afternoon.
