In ShortOn first sight, Woofs on Piedmont has the feel of a generic strip-mall sports bar. The usual jerseys, banners, caps and other sports memorabilia line the walls and smoky sports action abounds. The only tale-tale sign that something is singular are the rainbow flags. At Atlanta's only gay sports bar, the staff is friendly, sports reign supreme and the drinks are cheap. Burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and salads are affordable and involve substantially less grease than the appetizers. A dozen televisions fill the nooks and corners, broadcasting everything from football to boxing, soccer to basketball. Those with the competitive urge can challenge others to pool or darts or compete in weekly trivia contests. Woofs is a great place for sports fans of any ilk to hang out with guys or gals who bat for the same team.
