Can save some money in the Springs with this place 5/2/2012

I come here a lot and it's by far the best deal for the cost of a movie ticket when comparing other movie theaters here in Colorado Springs. The Picture Show is a good place to go out to see a movie, at a reasonable price, with my family We all like seeing movie on the big screen, i would recommend this place to anyone. more

unethical un-customer service African American food clerk 3/28/2011

I like the theater for the cost, but I do not like one of the food clerks who is unethical and un-customer service oriented. When I was getting a refill on popcorn after seeing the movie I paid for, the African American food clerk told her Caucasian trainee to fill my tub with popcorn crumbs and un-popped kernels of popcorn and top it off with good fluffy popcorn. I find this to be very unethical and non-customer service oriented behavior. The African American food clerk, at another time, again, when I was getting a refill for my tub of popcorn, rudely spoke to me, using her hands to hurry me along as if she owned me as her worker slave. I was the only one in line and there was no one behind me. She did not treat me with respect, nor did she make me feel welcome at The Picture Show. She should be fired because of her unethical behavior and rudeness to customers. I am a retired, African American women, who is very displeased with this African American food clerk's unethical behavior, who does not know how to treat paying customers. She is definitely not an asset to the Picture Show establishment. Another time, I asked for diet soda and she gave me regular as if she did understand me. I made her throw out the regular soda and give me diet. I am a diabetic and the regular soda would have made me faint from the sugar rush. This girl needs to be fired. She is a liability to the owners of the Picture Show. more

Wait to rent the DVD instead! No regard for customer svc! 4/24/2010

I used the restroom when I first arrived at the theatre. Because all of the lines were long and there were large signs posted near all of the cash registers stating tickets could be purchased at any register, I waited in line at the register nearest the restrooms. \r \r I finally reached the register after a 15 minute wait. The young girl at the register refused to sell me a ticket and concessions, stating she was only assisting with concessions for a birthday party. \r \r I pointed at the large signs on both sides of the girl's register, and politely reminded her I had waited in line for a long time. The girl reiterated that she was only assisting a birthday party and would not sell me a ticket or concessions.\r \r The movie I drove far across town to see was starting immediately. Therefore my only option was to leave without seeing the movie that was showing only at that theater. \r \r Forty years ago when I was approximately the same age as the girl, we Baby Boomers were taught to provide friendly accommodating service to customers. This girl couldn't care less if I would miss the first portion of the movie had I stayed and waited in another line. The large posted signs stating tickets are available at all cash registers should certainly be removed if this promise to customers will not be honored. \r \r When I attempted to phone a manager after leaving the theatre, there was no way to speak with anyone. After the number is dialed, there is only a recording with current movie titles and times.\r \r It is shameful indeed that young people generally show little or no respect to the public to whom they should be required to provide quality customer service. Pros: Low price admission Cons: Very long lines; rude and not enough employees more

Solid establishment for the price 4/13/2010

It's only $1.50 folks, although most concessions are expensive they offer hot dogs for $1. They aren't very good hot dogs I'm afraid, but it's so refreshing to have at least one inexpensive edible item in an industry where a pickle costs $3.50. My wife and I spent a lot of time here in high school and still go here frequently when we are too broke for a more pricey date night. \r \r The screens are larger than the chapel hills theator but smaller than the cinemark. They are big enough, the chairs aren't too bad, but are fairly narrow.\r \r The movies come right before DVD release and that is likely the primary reason for this venues cheap pricing. I feel like the quality is not too bad and for a $1.50 I strongly aprove of the building and quality.\r \r Again, they get you on the snacks (thus the thriving dollar store next door!) ;-) Pros: $1.50 movies, $1 hotdogs, 75 cent tuesdays Cons: Theator does not get films until almost out on DVD more

The lines suck 11/21/2009

I like picture show at Citadel Crossing for the most part, but the management's desperate attempts to get people to buy their junk spontaneously while waiting to buy a ticket is a very big inconvenience for the rest of us who really just want to buy a ticket to see the movie. This process that I'm sure makes the management team think they are brilliant only makes people like my self pissed off to have to wait forever in line for a transaction that should only take seconds buts turns in to 15-30 minute wait so the people can fill up on junk. I think they need to utilize the front window like they used to and list it as ticket purchase only or at least make a line in the lobby marked as tickets only and at least give people a choice that will help them get to the reason they are really there for ""THE MOVIE"" Pros: Cheapest entertainment in town Cons: Wainting in long lines to buy a ticket is for the birds more

My family & I can enjoy an affordable night out. Thanks 11/20/2009

We are a family of four. If we go any where else, we end up paying more then $45. for 4 tickets, 1 large drink, 1 small drink & 1 large popcorn. That we all have to share. That is ridiculously expensive. Not every one has that kind of money to spend on a night out. At this price we couldn't possibly afford to go out for a movie as often as I would like. Thanks to picture show at about $18 now I can. That's a big difference. And on a tuesday even better. Pros: Good price on tickets & concessions. more

Great if you just want to go to the theater no movie 10/7/2009

What made our trip so special was it was for my daughter's birthday. Then we ordered all our stuff and I pull out my card to pay and then they don't take it. Not only is it not posted anywhere but I go to use the atm and you can only pull money out in $20. increments. So my husband drives clear across town to get the money out comes back. Well by then we already missed 40 minutes of the movie. So we get the kiddos back in the car and then we have to listen to our son cry forever. So thanks for the magical evening at the theater literally. Pros: I don't get to take my kids out often thought it would be a Cons: They don't take debit or credit cards. more

The best movie deal in town! 1/16/2009

The Picture Show at Citadel Crossing is by far the best deal for the cost of a movie and refreshments when comparing other movie theaters here in the Springs. The Picture Show is my favorite place to go out to see a movie, at a reasonable price, with my wife. We both appreciate viewing a great movie on the big screen at a cost less than renting. The seats are a little small for me but they are just right for her. The downside is waiting to purchase tickets when the person is buying refreshments just before show time. I recommend coming in a little earlier, grab your favorite place to sit and enjoy the show. While you are relaxing, count your savings and appreciate this great opportunity we have here in the Springs. Pros: The cost is right for viewing a movie on the big screen Cons: Waiting to buy tickets close to show time and the seats are dated. more

Best Deal in Colorado Springs 12/25/2008

We love the place. The building isn't brand new but it's nicer than the local theater at the mall. The price is great. The deal on popcorn is wonderful. (Be sure to find out about their free refill policy.) And they have a LOT of great movies. Sure, they're at the end of their run, but the deal is so good that we almost never go to the full-price theaters; it's not worth it. We wait and pay 15-20% of the other places. Go for it! Pros: Price, selection of movies, popcorn Cons: Takes a while for movies to get to this theater more
