Steve really knows what he's doing and has the most beautiful style, like painting. I got a tattoo last week and he was very professional and had a very calming personality which was great for a first-timer :) The receptionist was rather rude though which made me nervous at first. I love the tattoo! It healed beautifully. more

My fiance and I just got tattoos from here done by Steve, he did an amazing job! He took our ideas and did exactly what we wanted and added his own personal touch to make them even more amazing! Everyone there is great and we will definitely be back! more

It's been over ten years since getting my last tattoo while I was living in Minnesota. My son turns 18 soon and wanted his first tattoo as his birthday gift from mom and dad so I started looking around and researching different shops in NC. I ran across Phoenix Tattoo's web site and was very impressed. The site is great and the information on each artist along with their galleries is awesome. ALL of the artists there are extremely talented. Just take a look at their work on the site and I think you'll agree. All of this got me all pumped up for another one! This time, I wanted a tattoo that had a strong personal meaning reflecting about six years of heart-wrenching struggles that I endured. I met with Steve and we talked about my idea of having something personal to me that would represent that time in my life. I wanted to show that no matter what you are faced with in your life, faith in God and your own determination not to give up, will bring you out of it and you'll be a stronger, more spiritual, even happier person. I envisioned myself as the phoenix rising from the ashes of hell through God's hands. Steve's awesome artistic abilities rendered the tattoo in my profile pic. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. It's beautiful and it's perfect. EXACTLY the message I wanted to display. THANK YOU Steve for bringing my vision to life. Every time I look at it, I smile knowing that the hell I was in during that time did not keep me from rising above it........with my faith in God. If you want a tattoo that has meaning, YOU NEED TO GO TO PHOENIX. I wold also like to give props to the receptionist. I never got her name, but she was great as well. VERY nice, very helpful, very professional. I felt at ease and welcome. They treated me like a real person and they actually cared and listened to what I was looking for. GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT SHOP. Steve did a tattoo of my boxer Samantha a few months ago and not a day goes by that I get asked, who did that tattoo, it is so beautiful & I tell them Steve @ Phoenix Tattoo. And he was so friendly, easy to talk to, and made the experience great! Also, Kelly was super friendly and helpful and the whole shop was clean and nice. I went in for a consultation, got a price and time estimate, and then came back a few days later to get it. After, I got a aftercare packet and everything has been fine! It was a great experience and I can't thank them enough! I will definitely be going back for my next one! more

18 mos ago I decided to get my first tattoo. I wanted one for over 10 years but was afraid of having a bad experience or not dealing with a clean parlor and getting sick. I searched online for several tatt shops in the Triangle area. Phoenix had the most comprehensive website and the parlor looked very clean and professional from the pics. From her work on the website and for what I wanted done I felt Lacie would be the best suited to do my first tattoo. I was nervous during my consult but Lacie answered all my questions, reassured me and put me totally at ease. I love my first tatt so much I just went back in June 2010 for another, with Lacie of course! I just got a tattoo by Marco, and it's fantastic. After finding that Lacie (who was recommended to us by a friend) was booked till august, I fell in love with Marco's work. I got the biggest tattoo that I have yet, and he had me in and out with a beautiful and striking color tattoo in about an hour and a half. I've been getting so many compliments on it! His work is so impressive, and I'd recommend him, and the shop, to anybody who wants the same quality, kindness, and level of professionalism that I received. Not to mention that the tattoo turned out to be much less than we had expected- talk about quality at a completely reasonable price! My boyfriend is soon going back for one, and I'll go back in the future too, without a doubt. Pros: Professional, incredible tattoos more

I went to Phoenix the first time with a friend to get her tattoo. Driving by, at first glance it looks okay.. but once you get inside it's amazing! It looks like a cross between a studio/museum and a tattoo parlor. You can SEE the cleanliness.. which I like. The only drawback is the sections are open. I was fine with it since my tattoo was just on my wrist, but it could be really uncomfortable for someone getting a tattoo somewhere else.. My friend's artist was Colby, and he was so kind and considerate to her and did an outstanding job on her tattoo. I talked with the receptionist about getting a tattoo for myself and she was very helpful. I decided from my friend's experience to use Colby as well. He listened to what I wanted with my tattoo and the outcome was wonderful! My body actually went into shock at the start (only a few minutes, I'm fine, haha), and he was great to make sure I was completely okay before starting again. Overall the experience was great. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. I drove from Greenville twice to this place, if that gives you an idea how great it is. Cons: No closed rooms more
