Phoenix Tattoo

I can't say I have seen every tattoo artist's work, no one can say that. What I can say is that I have been planning my first tattoo for about 3 years, and have looked EXTENSIVELY online for both ideas and to pick an artist to do my tattoo. I travel to NYC a bit and thought I might make a fun trip more memorable by getting my first tattoo in the city. I checked out all the well known and some smaller shop artist portfolios. Of course I looked locally as well as regionally. Bottom line is I looked at a lot of tattoos from all over. Had I seen someone's work that really hit home with me I may have traveled to see them. Really there was no need because the best work I have ever seen is right in our own back yard. Lacie's work is phenomenal! My experience with both Kellie at the front desk and Lacie could not have been better. Kellie is very nice, and Lacie was fun to hang around with while she laid a absolutely stunning portrait on my shoulder. The shop vibe is actually pretty cool, and if you don't like the song playing over the speakers just wait because you'll will hear something cool and different next! A tattoo is permanent, and Lacie was very serious and detailed about both the final draft and the placement. Her eye was much better than mine, as what looked good to me was still not quite right with her. The final result was one that blew me away completely and made me so happy I got the tattoo, and that I got it here. I'll proudly wear this art to my grave. It was a comfortable yet cool setting, and the entire experience had me planning my next tattoo with Lacie before the first one was finished. A week later my resolve to go back has not changed. You won't regret it either. more

Took the recommendation of a few friends and got my NEwest Tatto their, Colby was real patient cause I had him draw something up and changed my mind like 3 times as to what i wanted to get. The shop seems a little disconnected from its artists because i tried to email new pictures to them to show my new ideas, but it just seemed like it didnt go anywhere and he didnt see the drawings until that day. Front desk lady seemed to be in a bad mood that day too. Ive never been to a tattoo shop that charged per hour before so that was different. Overall clean establishment, would go back i think. more

Came in for my first tattoo and was greeted by Kelly. I sat done while she got Lacie. I felt nervous at first but Lacie got me in and out in no time. She was aware of my needs and she did a bang up job on my tattoo. I'm definitely coming back for another one. Lacie has a strong talent for detail. She understood that this tattoo was important and she made sure it was perfect. more

The atmosphere was great, relaxed but not too noisy... It was clean and everyone was so friendly. Above all the work was amazing! I have 11 tattoos now and I've been to several different shops and this is the best by far. If you're looking to get your first, or a seasoned tattoo aficionado looking for a new artist... run, don't walk to Phoenix Tattoo! I'm going back next month to start a new shoulder piece. Don't take a risk with a tattoo, go to Phoenix and let them take care of you! more

I just got finished with my latest tattoo experience. This was my first time with Phoenix and with Colby. I am so excited and absolutely fell in love with both the shop and the artist! I do not have too many tats and was not treated as though I shouldn't be there. Colby was very professional and took great care in getting my tattoo to look beautiful as well as creating the look I was after. I loved the atmosphere as well as the people around me. Colby had a very calming presence. He was laid back, but definitely cared about the work! I cannot thank him enough for completing this for me. I will definitely be going back to Phoenix in the future and will definitely have Colby be my go-to artist! more

Well, I tattooed someone's name and then broke up six months later...don't ask! So I was in need of a coverup and had a vague idea of what I wanted but Steve was masterful. We sat together and he came up with a beautiful solution. I mean, you can't even tell what it was before, let alone read the name! I AM very happy ;-) and recommend Steve - he's a super nice, and incredibly talented guy. more

I was impressed with his workspace, attention to detail and the cleanliness of the entire shop. The two hours flew by relatively quickly and I left very satisfied with my tattoo and a promise to return for another! Marco did an excellent job describing how I should take care of my new tattoo and asked for referrals by suggesting the my husband and father come in. I will definitely be back and will recommend Marco and Phoenix Tattoo to everyone I know! more

My boyfriend and I stopped by Phoenix with the intention of just making an appointment for future work since his piece was on the larger side and since it was a Friday and those tend to be busy days. We were pleasantly surprised when Lacie not only took the time to talk to us that afternoon, but she also managed to fit us in for later the same evening!! Lacie really took the time to find out what look we were going for and drew up several options for my tattoo. Her work space was very clean and her skills are awesome. The thirty minutes it took for my tattoo to be finished flew by as conversation with Lacie was like talking with a friend. My boyfriend's tattoo took two sessions and his skin had some trouble accepting a particular color, but she really worked with him to make it right! She put in nearly double the time to give him a kickass tattoo with vivid color. We were both really impressed with Lacie's artistic work and her thoroughness. I have already recommended her to all of my friends and plan on scheduling my next appointment soon. As for the rest of the artists: they all seemed friendly and talented. She e-mailed the sketch (didn't really know you could do that by the way, very cool) a few days before my appointment and it was dead on what I was looking for. On the day of, her thoroughness really really impressed me. We spent a significant amount of time just sizing and getting the placement exactly the way I wanted it. She was incredibly accommodating and her attention to detail is amazing! She incorporated my previous tattoo flawlessly (about 9 years old) and even 'cleaned it up a bit' for me since it's aged some. I was in the shop approx. 5 1/2 hours from start to finish and the whole experience was awesome!!! Very clean, professional, priced very well for the level of work and fun! I will most certainly be returning & have already recommended Phoenix Tattoo/Lacie to others. Thx Lacie! more

Steve really knows what he's doing and has the most beautiful style, like painting. I got a tattoo last week and he was very professional and had a very calming personality which was great for a first-timer :) The receptionist was rather rude though which made me nervous at first. I love the tattoo! It healed beautifully. more
