wonderful accomodating staff & management!! 12/29/2007

I love pet care plus! I rescued my dog from PAWS over this last summer, and he is a bundle of energy! A few months later i had changes professionally and had less time to spend with my little boy. It was obvious that day care was necessary. Pet Care Plus came very highly recommended from my friends and I went, took a tour & watched their their web cams. Ive been taking my boy 2 or 3 times a week ever since! The people at pet care plus are wonderful! The management understands the problems facing a rescue dog as hyper as he is & work with him to improve his issues. They keep me posted on his progress & have helped me a lot on techniques i can use at home to improve upon his dominance issues. My boy loves the staff & cant wait to get in the door in the morning, at night I have to drag him out & he usually goes home & falls fast asleep, he is so exhausted! The management is very accommodating, sometimes I have to commute to the suburbs and they tolerate my late pickups when traffic is uncooperative. I have recommended them to all my friends with dogs, and everyone I know who has used them for boarding or daycare has been similarly impressed. Fantastic Doggie Day Care 12/15/2007

I just moved here from Florida and was referred to Pet Care Plus through co-workers who were told about them from their vet. I am an older woman who hates the cold but had to move here to take care of an ailing family member. To make a long story short my dog needs her exercise and I am unable to give it to her since I lost my backyard. Needless to say when I arrived at Pet Care Plus it was very busy as owners were arriving to pick up their pets. The manager told me that she would be happy to show me around even though she appeared very busy. She indicated that they have an open door policy and would do her best to accomodate me. I just wanted to write a little review because this site has really helped me find the right services for me being new to a large city. This place has become quite a find for me. My little girl wags her tail every Tuesday and Thursday when I wake up. She actually knows the days she is going to play with her doggie buddies. The staff is always cheerful and welcoming and give a full report on her day of play. I am truly glad I found such a facility. Pros: Friendly staff, Clean and welcoming. Great parking staff who cares Cons: could not find a one! more

Great Boarding Service! 12/13/2007

I just used this company over Thanksgiving for the 1st time. The place I was using had little outside space for my Lab Rosie to run. This place is HUGE outside! In addition, I really like the suites they have instead of the old school cages and homemade suites my other place had. They were very organized, super clean and genuinely loved Rosie :) I plan to use them again over New Years and for future business trips I have next year. Pros: Great Price! Cons: Can't think of any! more

Great boarding set-up! 10/25/2007

I just started using their service for boarding because my new job requires me to be on the road a lot. I really liked their accomodations. My dog had never been in a cage before and the rooms they have are a great alternative. The outdoor space was also great, it really gave my dog the space to run. The staff really seemed like they were hands on with the dogs and the place was really clean. Pros: Great prices, accomodations and PARKING! Cons: My dog doesnt like the pool! :( more

Tried it for a long time, waited it out, and eventually just left 8/13/2007

I had my dog there when this location was West Loop Canine Club. After PCP took over I kept my dog there, and rode out all the bumps along the way because the place was convenient for me and my dog was happy enough. Pros: space Cons: costs, quality, owner, manager, train, lack of cleanliness more

Nothing but success for me 8/9/2007

I recently adopted a dog from a shelter and was hesitant upon bringing her to daycare. But from the second I walked in I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff. They asked me a lot of questions about my dog instead of just taking her in the back to join the ""pack"". They even called me mid day and reported her progress to ease my concerns. Each time I brought her back she seemed more and more comfortable and now when we pull up to the facility she practically pulls me into the door. To me its a great success story and I recommend this facility to others. It is also the best I found as far as pricing and amount of time that the dogs actually play throughout the day. Pros: great staff and prices Cons: A litle bit of a drive for me but worth it more

Not as bad as some of the reviews say 8/8/2007

I have been bringing my pup to Pet Care plus for the last few months and I haven't experienced what these other reviews are talking about. All I know is that I drop my puppy off, and pick him up and I have never had any problems or experienced what others are saying. The staff has been friendly and seemingly organized. I am going to continue to go there, and if you are looking at these reviews trying to decide, give them the benefit of the doubt. The place is spacious and they do their best to make sure your dog is well taken care of. Pros: spacious, convienent location more

Great for all types of dogs, caring staff, give back tired dogs 3/5/2007

This place is great for all dogs of all types with their personality and size specific areas. My rottie comes home tired. He does jump on me when he gets out (only because the staff is less strict about this during play than his mom!) but is just as eager to get there when he knows he's going in the morning. As soon as we make a left on Lake Street he stands up in the car and starts wagging his tail! By the second day he didn't even look back at me =( when I left him. For regulars, and the staff knows and reports little nuances that even an owner might not pick up on (like my dogs occasional slight limp due to arthritis) which let's me know 1) they care and 2) they are watching. They idetifywhat each dog needs to be the best socialized (for my dog it's 20 minutes of hard playtime before being put with the others) and address these needs every day. Highly recommend. Pros: Areas for diferent size/temperment/age Cons: Office area isn't fufu enough for me, but my dog doesn't seem to care. more

A tired dog is a happy dog! 2/4/2007

My dog loves this place!! She gets that goofy tired happy smile after a long day of playing with her puppy pals. The staff seems to care so much about her and all of the dogs that go. They are always responsive and helpful!! Bonus: They offer great packages on everything (daycare, baths, etc) and that helps keep sending our dog affordable, too! Pros: Great caring staff, large space to play, Service packages Cons: None! more

My Dogs Love It 1/29/2007

I've been going to PetCare Plus for several years. I was a former West Loop Canine client and when PCP took over the location they did a nice job of cleaning it up. The staff has always been friendly and they definitely have gotten to know my dogs. My dogs love going there.. they pull me to the door from the car every time and they come home pooped out. I love the fact that they put a pool in and they offer a lot of services like pickup, grooming, boarding etc. This place isn't fancy like some of the other phoofy dog shops you'll see- but my dogs have a great time and that's all that matters! Pros: The swimming pool for dogs (among other things) Cons: the train is noisy but it bothers me more than my dogs! more

Fantastic Day Care! 1/27/2007

My dog has been going to Pet Care Plus 3 days a week for over a year now. He absoltuely loves it! He plays all day and swims in the dog pool in the summer time! There is even a web cam so that I can see my dog playing all day in their huge outdoor area spaces. They accomodate big dogs, little dogs, dogs with special needs, older dogs, etc. Pet Care Plus is continuously making improvements to their facilities and their service and the experience we have there only gets better and better. The staff is honest and genuine. I feel that they care about us..not just as customers; they highly respect the indivdual person and the dog! Pros: Best value in town, honest and caring owner and staff. Cons: None. more

great staff, huge pool! 1/16/2007

Only the best will do for my dog and Pet care delivers. i've been very happy with the service the staff has given to my hyper beagle. My dog usually doesnt get a long with strange dogs but they did a great job to make him feel comfortable. I asked a lot of questions to the girl there and she answered all my concerns. This place is huge and your dog has lots of room to play. in the summer they open up the pool and I even saw one of the staff members out there playing in the waterr with the dogs. I think my dog would be a lot happier & slimmer if he could come here more often. Also, they have a loading zone in front for easy dropoffs which all pet services should have. Dog Resort 1/16/2007

I've owned dogs for 50 years and these people really care and go out of their way to keep dogs occupied and happy when away from home, the swimming area is an outstanding opportunity for our Lab, the place is kept very clean and outdoor areas give the pets plenty of room to roam. Great place to leave your pooch! 1/14/2007

I have nothing but good words to say about Pet Care Plus. I had an emergency and had to board my dog for a few days. I have never left my dog over night, but the staff and management assured me that they would take great care of her. They called me everyday with an update of how she was doing. She doesn't do good with other dogs, so they took her out on private walks and play time several times a day. The rest of the day she spent lounging in the offices. They truely cared about my dog's well being. I now see why they have been in business for so many years!! Pros: personalized services Cons: I missed her! more

Love It! 12/28/2006

I left my 8 month old boxer here over the holidays and was very pleased with the service I received. The place was extremly clean and organized. The staff was great and seemed to have much knowledge and experience with dogs. It put my mind at ease knowing I could watch him all day on the webcam while I was away. I left my dog here just over the holiday since I was at several parties and in the burbs. It was good because my dog got to stay one day before hand on them to test the place out. he really seemed to like it so it put my mind at ease. The staff told me all about his day so I really like the feedback. Pros: Good Parking, free trial Cons: Hard to find more

Great Space with Lots to Offer 12/11/2006

I took my Lab here when I was going out of the town for the weekend and my friend wasn't available to watch her. Usually I am a little wary of kennels but I did a little checking and this place seemed to have the most based on their website. When I went in for the free day of daycare trial it was as advertised. It was big enough for her to run and burn off energy during the day, as clean as you could hope a kennel to be, had web access to watch her if I were to be near a computer and in the summer the dogs can even have swimming breaks. They could have sit her at home but it was cheaper to board and I am always watching the pennies. I would use them again for sure if the need came up as the price was the best in the area to boot. Bentley's Vacation 11/27/2006

My Husband and I recently went out of town for Thanksgiving and needed to board our Pug Bentley. We were recommended by our vet. to a few places and choose Pet Care Plus because it had a special area for small and big dogs which was key for us. Bentley was the runt of the litter and it was important to us that he play with the smaller guys. The Manager suggested a few days of daycare to get him used to the facility since he has never boarded anywhere before. It was great! He got to run inside and outside with many other smaller dogs that he really liked and got along with well. Not to mention the first day was complimentary!! When we picked him up last Saturday he was happy and wagging his tail. He also was on medication for an ear infection and we needed them to clean his ears twice a day and give him pills. It was really nice knowing they could handle such a request, especially around the holidays. I would highly recommend this kennel for Boarding and Daycare!! Best customer service, amazing owner and great overall setup! 11/7/2006

This is the best pet business in the Chicagoland area. The outside area, pool, kennel, staff, and overall layout is the best that I've seen. We have 3 dogs who absolutely LOVE everything about day care! They are happy and taken care of just as good as we do at home. I couldn't ask for anything more and the owner has a heart of gold! I've never met a person more committed to the welfare of animals in my life! She has a large kennel for resue dogs and has shelled out thousands of her own dollars in vet bills, food and care for hundreds of dogs. If you want a place to bring your dogs, this is for you! Pros: Knowledgable staff, VERY CLEAN, friendly atmosphere and VERY SAFE! Cons: Not a one! more

For all dog lovers 8/5/2006

I started using Pet Care Plus this summer for daycare and boarding. I have had only positive experiences with the staff and management at this fabulous facility. Every employee has had significant experience with animals and most of them have canine companions of their own. My dog loves to go daycare and gets excited every morning when we get close to the facility. He loves the pool, the boneyard and, most important, he loves the staff! At least two of the employees are in the pre-vet programs at their respective universities, but all of the staff are dog lovers and take excellent care of the animals. They know all the dogs by name. The facility is clean, the cages are clean and the outdoor play areas are clean. Did I mention it was clean? There are a variety of areas that the dogs can play in, such as the large area in front where the dogs play ""fetch"" with the staff. I feel comfortable knowing that the dogs are kept on a schedule and that I can check in via webcam anytime I want. My charges are correct and the bills are delivered promptly. I used their boarding services for a week in July while I was on vacation. Everything went well and my dog was given a bath before I picked him up on his last day of boarding. I am thrilled to have found such a wonderful place to leave my dog for the day or for the week. Pros: great staff more
