I have been going to Salon Rapunzel for years now. The only person I trust to color and highlight hair is Patti. I'd say that I've had her do my hair for almost 15 years! I've done so many different colors and I always trust that she'll help me choose something beautiful for me. It's amazing, really. While working through school (retail) I'd actually have people come up all the time to compliment me on my hair, even a couple of women reaching out and touching my hair! Crazy. The only sad thing is that I just graduated and now live in Seattle. Salon Rapunzel is a pretty well-lit salon. The hair products smell great and the people are nice. Pros: Great haircuts, color, products and service! Cons: Gina hasn't cloned herself yet! more

I like Salon Rapunzel because it is a warm and inviting place to go to get my hair cut. Gina Valentino, and out-going, energetic stylist is who I go to. She is he only one that cuts my hair even though I now live in Seattle. I include an appointment with her on my agenda to visit family and friends. more

I moved from Eugene to Seattle about a year and a half ago and one of the hardest things to leave was Rapunzel, specifically Gina. I came to her when my hair was almost to my knees and I trusted no one to touch it. A couple feet of donated hair later, but not an inch more than I had wanted cut, I knew she was the one. She has been my stylist ever since and she is totally worth the commute from northern Washington. I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else no matter where I live. more

Prior to moving to Portland, I would get my hair done just to spend time with Gina. The two hours I sat in her chair Gina and I would talk, giggle and just hang out with eachother. Leaving with amazing hair was simply a plus. Happygolucky...whoever you are...you are mistaken about Gina and the Salon in general. From the owner to the stylists, they are all amazing and from facials to cuts they rock. Gina is the most beautiful, wonderful, warm loving person anyone could know. Gina is my mom, and she is the only one who has ever cut my hair. I can't recall a single time that I have been dissapointed. In fact, the last time she cut my hair I asked her to do whatever she wanted, and it turned out to be the greatest hair cut of my life. Not to mention how wonderful the salon is. They always have beautiful art on the walls, and just bundles of fun things that they're selling. It is a truly enjoyable environment. If Salon Rapunzel and Ginna Valentino weren't around, I would NEVER get my hair cut! All the employees are extra nice and charismatic, but Gina is definitely my favorite. It think it's because she's so gentle with my delicate little head and we get to talk about airplanes and flying. It isn't just a hair cut, it's more of an emotional roller coaster. Gina feels like the sister I never had! Not to mention all the attention I get from the ladies after my hair cut (thanks Gina!). With all due respect to happygolucky22, you have no idea what you are talking about. I've used Gina for, oh, ten or so year and have ALWAYS been extremely satisfied with the results. She has a keen eye for details, a great sense of style, and an outstanding personality. If you're looking for the best hairchitect in Oregon, then you don't need to look any further. For many years, I have enjoyed a variety of services from Salon Rapunzel. The entire staff are exceptional and amazing. Personalities, beauty, and grace are undeniable and to be expected during each visit. The environment is casual and interactivve within the main salon. Great conversation and community interest in the client are definately to be expected during each visit. I have always gone to Gina Valentino, but formed a relationship with many of the people on staff through my frequent trips for cut and color. Each time, whatever it was that I asked for, I recieved in a manner of skill and instinct that is a true rarity in the world of stylists. Her witty charisma make the visit all the more enjoyable, and she knows how to guide you away from bad ideas and into something that you won't hate. If I ever needed a drastic change, I could count on her input and trend savvy insights to arrive me at something I would be proud of for seasons to come. I also spent many visits behind the doors of one of the most talented aestiticians I have ever encountered, Margaret. Each visit meant that not only would I recieve the most attentive, skillful, and talented approach to a full menu of services, but I would leave feeling valued and special. Her intuitive and calming nature make the experience above and beyond any other spa treatment I have ever experienced. Unfortunately, there are some poorly trained or lazy stylists out there in this world, so you have to be careful. I have no doubts that you will find this salon worth your money. more

I have been frequenting Rapunzel for many years and am always very pleased with my hair cuts. Gina cuts my hair and has always given me a great hair cut and has never accidentally snipped my ear. It is a really great salon. I just wish my hair grew faster so I could go to Salon Rapunzel more often. Pros: Very hot workers! more

I live in Florida now after years in Eugene and I still return to Eugene, Oregon to have Miss Gina Valentino cut and color my hair. The experience in the salon is fabulous. She is down to earth and great to talk to. Having her wash my hair is a heavenly experience because she massges my scalp and gets me all clean. The way she cuts my hair leaves me feeling beautiful and it grows out perfectly keeping me looking nice between visits. She always has great suggestions when I ask and tells it to me like it is. The color she does for me looks brilliant, shiny, and natural. I love it! I can't imagine going to see anyone else. She's my hair doctor. Anyone looking for a skilled professional in the hair department should go check her out. She's very good at both conservative do's (like mine) and funky styles too. Highest recommendations! I've been having my hair done for a few years now and I recommed it to everyone who I talk to about hair. Not only are all of the stylist competent, but also friendly and helpful. They do a very good job of creating a relaxed atmosphere while staying incredibly chic. My favorite stylist is Ms. Gina Valentino. She always knows what is best for my hair even when I have no idea. She's friendly and sincere and has a great laugh, its infectious. Mostly she is easy to work with. If I have an idea she incorporates it with her own to come up with the best possible situation for my hair. I highly recommend the entire Salon, but in particular Gina. When I moved to Eugene I was scared to get my haircut by a hairdresser that I haven't had my whole life growing up. Three years ago I found Gina at Rapunzel, she is friendly, personal, respectful, and her perfection with haircutting has never left me the least bit unsatisfied. Even when I want to try a new cut and explain to her what I am looking for she is able to master exactly what I have in my mind!!! I am always nervous about who cuts my hair, but after being recommended by someone else, Gina stepped up to the challenge of my picky personality. (She probably didn't even know I was picky because she did a fantastic job...didn't have a chance to complain). Salon Rapunzel has a tremendous atomosphere, friendly stylists, and flexable appointment times. Gina has cut and colored my hair on several occassions and she's done a ridculous amazing job. My hair is naturally curly and Gina always cuts it to make sure I don't look like a poodle. Salon Rapunzel has been my home for hair styling since 2004 and I wouldn't go any where else. Pros: Fast returned calls, evening and Saturday appointments. Cons: Parking is sparse but you can't expect much in downtown. more

The atmosphere is charming and alive. Some of the stylists are incredible, and provide the perfect balance between giving you what you (unrealistically) want and taking you in a new direction. One warning: if you can't get in with one of the other stylists, don't use Geena as a replacement. Believe me, you won't respect yourself in the morning! more
