i've been trying to find a decent salon in eugene for years now, so far with mediocre results. this place is so far the best. the stylist knew exactly what i wanted, which is essential for shorter or more complicated cuts. i just wanted to repeat the good reviews, since they were helpful to me in choosing this salon. Novo is located at 13th and Oak with ample parking in the back. The staff is friendly, the salon is comfortable, yet stylish and the prices are AFFORDABLE (and for a single working parent, that is important.) Pessa is my stylist there and she provides me with a beverage before she gets down to business. After she inquires what I want (and makes some very helpful suggestions) it's off to the wash. She provided me with a warmed towel to support my neck and used great smelling products on my hair (which, by the way, also detangled and made my hair soft.) She is sensitive of my time (my co-workers were amazed that I could get a wash, cut and style in a little over my lunch hour.) I had several people comment on how nice my hair looks. The staff helps one another out as well, which is great to see a team environment in what could be a cut-throat business (no Barber of Seville puns here.) Lastly, the salon is locally-owned, which is really important to me. I HIGHLY recommend not only the salon but Pessa's services, as she is willing to do what I want while being creative and professional. Service with a smile is not lacking at Novo. more

I moved to Eugene about a year and a half ago from Minneapolis. After trying a few different high end salons in town (with unimpressive results) I was referred to Blu7 by a friend of mine. I immediately liked the fun atmosphere and Blu gave me one of the best hair cuts that I have ever had. I have gone back to Blu7 many times and the results are consistently fabulous. more

i have decided that this is the best place to go when i want something drastically different with my hair. at blu7, i always get the exact hairstyle that i have in mind, if not better! i got my hair cut by sarah beaulieu today, and my hair basically went from ""hair growing wildly for months"" to a modern/edgy/layered look, and i look like i actually care about what my hair looks like now! she gave me styling tips and ideas on products, which was cool. she's really friendly and easy to talk to. in fact, all the people who work there are super friendly and upbeat. it's a really nice atmosphere. i strongly recommend it to people who like having awesome hair. i read the reviews and tried it but this place is not that good. the girl that did my hair didn't know what color to use so she had to ask someone else. my hair looks ok but not the best i have had. maybe i had the wrong person there do my hair? I have the straighted hair ever, but Blu from Blu7 Salon knows just what will work for me. I have had Blu cut my hair for many years - I have strayed and gone to other stylists, but I always come back to Blu. He is the person that will take the time to access my features and hair and will always do something just a little different than the average cut. I just came back from getting the hottest hair cut I've ever had. I have had my hair cut by Blu several times and I have got to say that he is by far the best stylist in Eugene. I've worked in salons and have had many people in town cut my hair and nobody delivers like Blu. Everytime I leave his salon I feel like the most beautiful woman in town. My hair has alway been very long and curly. For all the curly haired women out there, you know what it's like struggling with stylist who can't figure out how to straighten it, or who can't give you a cut that doesn't make you look like a helmet head. Well let me tell you, Blu understands the special needs that go along with unruly curls. He loves curly hair and can help you get the cut that is most flattering for your hair in both curly and straight styles. On this recent visit I decided to cut my hair into a short bob. I knew Blu was the only one I could trust to do the job. I am in love with the mirror right now, I feel so good. I was worried about cutting my hair short because I thought my face would look fuller. Blu is a color genius and his hairstyles are amazing. He truly has a gift for understanding his clients' hair and working with their natural assets to create a look that flatters every time! I have been seeing Blu for years and I think he just keeps getting better. In fact, the last haircut I got has had me wading in compliments. Someone even told me that it is the best they have ever seen my hair look! What's really impressive about all of this is that with this particular cut I gave Blu full creative license to do his magic...and boy did he deliver! On top of the talent that exisits in his salon you couldn't find a friendlier staff or a more relaxed atmosphere. I am very particular about my hair (aren't we all?) and at Blu7 I never have to worry about getting a less than perfect hair cut or color. I've been going to see Blu for years, and I am thrilled with his choices for his new salon, Blu7. Chic and retro inside, with great service and a fun atmosphere. Most importantly, you leave with FANTASTIC hair. I moved to Portland, and I go back to Eugene just to have my hair cut. I've been to a few other places in Portland when I have too, and I am always sorry. Blu gives me a great cut, beautiful color, and my hair looks wonderful for months. When i go other places, no one ever notices my hair, but after being at Blu7, I am awash in compliments. I highly recommend giving Blu 7 Salon a chance! I've traveled worldwide and have had my hair done by many salons, modeled for Vidal Sassoon, and have generally been exposed to this industry all over the world. Blu7 has extraordinary stylists that are very educated in the latest fashion and trends. Their staff maintains a high level of standard for staff members and clients. Their dynamic personality and knowledge of their careers makes them truly stand out. When I go to a salon, I want a hairdresser that can look at me and give me the look that ""suits"" my features, not what I think is best. I never tell my hairdresser what to do and always end up with a fashion forward look. The atmosphere is dynamic and the staff professional, but best of all, they are all grounded and very friendly. I have to say that I love everyone at this salon they are completely professional and exceptionally friendly. I especially love Blu. He has been my stylist for 3 years and I have followed him like a crazy stalker to every salon he has worked at in Eugene because I couldn't imagine anyone else touching my hair. He is a fantastic stylist and I have had him do highlights. Blu is wonderful and he really seems to like to do color so I would recommend you give him a try. He has remodeled the interior of the salon and has created a sleek, clean, modern look. Don't even get me started on the lighting and the fabulous mirrors. I seriously think they took like 20 pounds off. Oh they have free parking behind the salon so you don't have to park like 3 blocks away and they have wine. I just have to say that I have been to many hair places in town, and Salon Rapunzel, now Blu7, is, by far, the best. The staff is friendly and personable, and returning clients, like myself, feel right at home as soon as we walk in the door. There is never a dull moment, and the owners are both approachable and friendly. The hair is what takes the cake, the stylists have a level of skill that surpases that which I have seen before. In other words, they know your hair better than you do. From the time I was a teenager, going to a hair salon was horrible because I felt like I wasn't in tuned enough to really know what would look good on me, but If I tried to give the stylist full creative control, I would end up hating my hair. At Blu7 this is not an issue, because they take the time to talk to you about your personal preferences, and offer knowlegeble and creative options for your new do, be it totally different from what you already have, or as similar as possible. I have never gone home feeling like I hate my hair. this is the first salon that I can say that about. They have actually increased my knowledge about my hair and the best ways to style it, and the products they sell are awesome! I now realize I didnt even know how to use products properly to make my hair look the way I want . I used to hate that! Going to a salon, getting a great style, then never being able to reproduce it. Now that doesnt happen. I now have hair that is easy for me to style, goes with my personality, and is more modern and complementary than I have had before. I would trust no one else!
