The boyfriend and I had a jolly good time here. Music and atmosphere was good. Our server had perfect timing. Their fish and chips was the best I ever had! more

Love it! Love it! Love it! I had my best times at this place. The bar at night is great. Downstairs live band is the best. People working there are awesome, and it attracts fun , young and great crowd. Drinks and late night menus are great too. more

I am now A fan of beer! anyplace I go I look out for a good cider beer and I am happy she had me try it! 8/1/2011

I came here on vacation back with my friend I was never much of a beer drinker until I came here. The bartender asked me what kind of flavors I liked and found me a very good tasting cider beer that I loved! This is a great Irish Bar and they cater to both the locals and the tourists. They have the musicians come in in Kilts that play bagpipes and entertain the crowd as well. This is a very fun place to go with large groups of people, we have always found the staff to be very accommodating to our needs. more

amazing happy hour at Murphy's. All of the appetizers are half price, and their appetizers are good too. Guinness was just a bit above $3 for happy hour I believe. 7/26/2011

First off, I gotta say they have an amazing happy hour at Murphy's. All of the appetizers are half price, and their appetizers are good too. Guinness was just a bit above $3 for happy hour I believe. My wife and I went here on the 4th of July before the firework show. Service was great here as it usually is. more

THE BEST CHAMPAGNE BRUNCH EVER!!! $1 per re-fill. It was good. The steak with the steak and eggs was amazing. My french-toast was authentic. Our waitress was amazing. I just wish the price-point was a little cheaper and that they had their specials on a menu because we did not have time to memorize their 'specials' board outside and we could not see it from where we were sitting. more

On Monday night, we were concerned that there wouldn't be much to do. Once we walked in we found out we were wrong. There was not a lot of people there but as other yelpers have declared, there is an amazing Irish singer Pat Carroll. He does get everyone involved and if you can find someone who is Irish then grab them for a jig. With a bounty of beer and Jameson you can't go wrong. You will be singing and laughing the whole night through. more

I thought the homage to police and firefighters on the bar pretty touching and the rest of the decor was typical pub themed All and all I really enjoyed my stop in here and, if I lived in Alexandria (which if you haven't already figured out...I do not), I would definitely make this place a regular hang out spot :) more

If you're looking for a favorite of the locals, Murphy's is the place to go. The food is reasonably priced and as good as it gets Irish cuisine. They have numerous beers available, the wait staff/bartenders are amazing. They offer live music every night, never a cover charge. more

There are several Irish Bars in Old Town but this is the only one you need to visit. Good Irish fare, great music, and the staff are friendly and helpful. You'll find an excellent selection of beers and spirits as well as a classic menu that is reasonably priced. As another reviewer mentioned they are also pro-active supporters of local and national charities and involved in the community. Stop in to warm up this winter and you won't be disappointed. more

This is an Old Town landmark well worth visiting again and again. 6/28/2011

This is my favorite Irish Pub in the universe. It's old, it's real. The food is consistently good. The entertainers always make me feel better with great folk tunes and great senses of humor. They still have a great fireplace. The beer selection is overwhelming. It's just a fun, real place full of real people. I always meet interesting people here. This is an Old Town landmark well worth visiting again and again. more
