Minneapolis Institute of Arts 9/19/2006

The Minneapolis Institute of Arts is Minneapolis's classic art museum. They recently received a new expansion, the Target Wing, designed by Michael Graves. This museum is a must for travelers. Plan on spending a day or two; it's quite big! The museum has both permanent and touring exhibits. It has a cafe and gift shop. The musuem has tours and lectures. They are open every day but Monday from 10-5, except 11-5 on Sunday's. more

Fabulous Docents 4/15/2006

I am a huge fan of the Minneapolis Institute of Art (I call it the "MIA" for short). They exhibits are really great, and it is free EVERY DAY!! The weekends there aren't too busy, and they have one Sunday a month with family activities. My favorite thing about the museum is there is something for everyone. I am a total dunce with art, so I love their free tours. All the docents are knoledgable and will tailor the tour to there audience (Larry is my favorite!) more
