Top Notch Salon and Stylist 3/25/2012

What is the first thing people notice when they meet you? The answer is, your HAIR! Mikel's salon in Tampa has been an amazing experience for not only my whole family but also for my friends too. Dillon K and I met when he had been hired there for a few months. What makes Dillon stand out from other stylists is that he is always willing to learn and that he truly sees himself as an artist and the client as his masterpiece. He is sharp on all their products, hair colors, cutting techniques, and able to realistically transform your hairstyle into something stylish and trendy. I live out of state and purposely see him every summer upon my visits. People visit Disneyland, my family sees Dillon K at Mikel's. How we wish Mikel's and Dillon were in Maryland instead of Florida. Give Dillon and this amazing place a chance today. You won't regret it!!!!!! more

blonde experts, best experience! 3/23/2012

I am VERY picky about my hair. I have naturally dark hair and love to go blonde. I tried many salons in Tampa and I was so lucky to have found Mikels. Dillion at Mikels was awesome. He really listens to what I want and understands our ""blonde obessions"". The overall experience is amazing from the minute you walk in to the time you walk out feeling beautiful. I get so many compliments when I am out and refer them all to Dillion at Mikels. Not to mention all their products are amazing and keep my hair healthy to keep going blonde without damage! They are friendly, talented and trendy and you will regret going anywhere else, for trust me I have tried! more

The Best Salon in Tampa 3/22/2012

Mikel's is a fabulous salon located in South Tampa. They have a great atmosphere and expert stylists that produce topnotch results. The team at Mikel's always have friendly smiles and know my name. I have been seeing Dillon K. for a while now, and I would highly recommend him to anyone. He's talented, creative, and lots of fun. I love my hair-Thanks Dillon K! more

Unbelievable! 3/21/2012

My hair was a complete disaster! I had been letting it grow and grow not realizing how bad and damaged my hair was. I was told to go see Dillon K. at Mikel's and took the plunge and mad the appointment. All I have to say about my finished look was unbelievable. I looked so beautiful after he had cut and colored my hair. I felt like a new person. My friends and family are so happy as am I with my new look. I love it and recommend Dillon K. to anyone that may need a fresh look. more

Blown away! 3/21/2012

This little place is fanatastic all around. All of the staff is so pleasant, knowedgeable and helpful. The atmosphere is fun and especially relaxing in the Lather Lounge. Lexi has been my stylist for a few years now and she works wonders! She has a great eye for what looks good and suits me so I can always trust her to create the perfect color combination for me. I leave happy with a fresh new style everytime. Paul Mitchell shampoo/conditioner keep my hair healthy and soft so I'm a big fan of their take home products. It is well worth the drive to leave feeling like a princess! more

Best Haircut in Tampa 3/20/2012

You'd gladly travel farther to have Lexi cut your hair; but you don't have to. You'd gladly pay more; but you don't have to. Lexi is as gracious and accommodating as she is talented. Mikel's is a truly comfortable and inviting environment. It doesn't matter whether you're a professional in a fancy suit, or tatted up in a tank top, the folks at this spot treat you in a warm and welcoming manner. Great place, talented staff, good price. more

The ONLY place that I allow to touch my hair. 3/20/2012

Lexi is the only person that has touched my hair since she started her career. When she started at Mikel's I was SO exicted. Not only is she an artist with color and cuts, the atmosphere and the attitude of everyone at Mikels is AMAZING. Everytime I walk in I am greeted with a snack and/or drink. I have always felt welcomed and comfortable with everyone else there as well. Even the customers are amazing, when you are treated as well as you are at Mikel's it doesn't surpise me that everyone is in a great mood. more

Can't live without.... 3/19/2012

Mikel?s is the ultimate experience. The kind of experience that once you have a taste, you cannot live without! I often get stopped and asked who does my hair. I am quick to respond but also mention that the fabulous hair is just one of the benefits you receive from Mikel?s. From the bubbly people, to the cozy atmosphere, the salon is one of a kind. The lather lounge tops off your experience with relaxing services to complete the visit. I see Mikel Sandoval who like his salon, is one of a kind and an experience you cannot live without. When Mikel is traveling the world conducting his education seminars, Dillon takes care of me and my hair. He is phenomenal and provides exceptional service and quality hair care. I highly recommend the salon and the stylists! more

Mikel's paul mitchell experience 3/19/2012

I moved to south tampa almost 2 years ago, passed by Mikel's and thought I shoud check it out, wondering if I could afford a place like that. I was so pleased to find out not only were the prices right but is also a ""high end salon"" I met Dillon and he has been doing my hair since. He is a wonderful colorist and stylist. He listens but yet makes sure you understand how your hair works. I love, love, going there ""it;s my special spa day"" every six weeks. Everyone is so nice, Love my wine too! From the moment i walk in the door 3/19/2012

It is really hard to impress me when it come to getting a haircut. I used to think a haircut was just that..... wow was i wrong. Everytime i walk into my salon, Mikel's, i feel like rotality. Everyone knows my name and is sure to make me feel at home. Snacks, scalp rub, hair-art, friendship and relaxion..... its all there. Lexi is the best there is. she welcomes me with a smile and before i know it i am leaving looking brand new and refreshed. thanks for all you do! I can't wait for my hair to grow more

Let me start with I have never dyed, highlighted or changed my hair color in 27 years which is rare for a young lady my age. I went to Lexi at Mikels because I heard she was the best at color & highlights and if I was going to do it for the first time ever, I wanted to do it by the best of the best! The staff was friendly and welcomed me in the most gracious way. After my consultation with Lexi on color I decided to trust her color recommendations. It ended up being beautiful. I always get great complements on my color and have sent Lexi multiple referrals and a majority of my friends go to her. You can trust Lexi with any service, she is knowledgeable, creative, energetic & fun! And Mikel's lives up to it's name for being ""The Paul Mitchell Experience"" ... it is so much MORE than an experience.... so go see for yourself! You won't be disappointed :) more

DILLON SAVED MY HAIR :) 3/19/2012

Let me begin by saying that I have naturally blonde hair. Two years ago, I stupidly decided to dye it very dark brown from a BOX! After coming to my senses, I tried to go back to my ""natural"" color. I went to a different salon (before discovering Mikel's) and paid an immense amount of money throughout several sessions to become blonde again; however, they made my hair orange. I then looked up Paul Mitchell salons in Tampa and found Mikel's website... I immediately called to make a reservation! During my first visit to the salon, I saw Dillon and I fell in love lol. He saved my hair!! I have since referred several people to Mikel's and they have also loved their experience with Dillon :) more

Never to disappoint 12/15/2010

I moved to the area a little over a year ago after retiring from the military. The WORST part about moving was continually trying to find a decent (not even good and forget great) stylist & salon. I was referred to this salon by my last stylist in the FL panhandle. I was skeptical because I was scheduled with a relatively new & ""inexperienced"" stylist. I was wonderfully surprised at her knowledge and expertise. Unfortunately she has since left the salon due to a family job transfer. Now I'm blessed to have be handed to April who is great with color and cuts. She sometimes gets so lost (focused) on what she is doing she forgets to carry on a conversation (lol!) - but I'm not there to chat with her. I've given her ""creative license"" to do what she wants with my color and I love the shades and effects she creates. As another reviewer commented, I'm blown away by how they excede expectations on every visit. more

Having a hair appointment at Mikel's Paul Mitchell Experience is a real treat! The salon is gorgeous and the service is great--everyone is friendly and welcoming. Better yet--they are all fantastic at what they do! Mikel is an internationally known professional -- and he's a genius! His staff of designers and stylists are all wonderfully trained in state-of-the-art cuts, color and styles. The salon features all the newest Paul Mitchell products--definitely try the new wild orchid line. Your stylist/designer will make sure that your hair looks like you want it to, and that you can recreate the style at home. The products that work for you will be recommended, but you won't feel pressured to buy everything--but it's all there if you prefer. I would never go to another salon--Mikel's has it all! more

Edgy & Sophisticated 11/5/2010

I have lived in Tampa my entire life, and I have tried almost every salon in town. No stylist has ever performed up to my expectations, nor has any salon brought the vibe I desire like Mikel's. I'm young so I want a hip, cool vibe; but I'm also picky-my hair has to be trendy, up-to-date, and nearly flawless. I have to look like a rock star! more

I finally feel pretty 11/3/2010

I went to Mikel's salon 2 days ago and i was actually wearing a wig because I hate my thin ugly hair, I talked to the stylist shannon and she said she is going to take great care of me and make me feel better about myself. I was blown away with the wonderful friendly staff they had. They first bring out a tray with a beverage,biscotti and a glass with a sunflower in it. They take you on a tour. talk about everything they do and all the wonderful products they use.Shannon colored my hair and then took me in the lather room where after the shampoo you get a choice of 2 free upgrades. I chose the scalp and neck massage. .I've nver experienced anything like this. I wasn't even finished and I booked my husband the next day. They finished my hair and when I looked in the mirror I said I can't believe how beautiful I look. what a miracle shannon did. I can't wait to go back. I actually feel pretty without my wig. Trust me you need to be pampered- you will feel so beautiful when you walk out!!! more

Amazing! 10/31/2010

I cannot stress the wonderful experience I've had at Mikel's since I first visited their salon two years ago. I had an awful chemical straightening experience at another local salon and asked a girlfriend for her stylist's info. She pointed me in the right direction! Samantha acknowledged the poor chemical treatment and the damage it had done to my hair. She gave me a great short cut to help my hair with a fresh start. It's been two years and my hair is healthier than ever! more
